Honey, at 39 I'm horribly worried because I haven't linked yet. I want exclusivity. I want to get to that comfortable stage...that I can tell what you're thinking and can finish your sentences stage. And when it comes to sex I want that to be intimate; a language spoken just amongst us two. It makes me feel special to know that this is something just for me. Ultimately, I won't settle for less and if it's not my destiny to find this exclusive love, then I'll accept it like death and taxes.
Its also a BAD IDEA to site friends who have been in LTR's as reference points for what's "true" & "doable" ..1st , ur usually biased bcuz they ARE friends. 2. u dont know what it takes to keep that situation goin behind doors. 3, unless u have their home, auto, & place of employment bugged & an RFID chip implanted in both their asses ...YOU CANT POSSIBLY KNOW WHO HAS STEPPED OUT ON WHO ..aaah the fantasy of bein gay !!!! LMAO
There is also a HUGE diff between "monogamy" & "fidelity" , (look them up) both of which gay men get confused. You can be monogamous & not have fidelity- But you cant have fidelity without being monogamous. Ergo, gay men want monogamy without necessarily wanting fidelity. In a decade, the attitude on gay unions will be that beastiality is cool - "why not fuck a cow or an aardvark? Its all good ..whatever works for you"! .everybody just get in ONE BIG BED..We are on a QUICK spiral to nothingness
Dont drink the Kool-Aid!!..Gay Men who have open relationships are just agreeable WHOES...they sign off on one another's bullshit & just sanction bein slutty bcuz the option of disagreein takes too much time when u could be goin to clubs, bookstores, parks etc, & sizin up TRICKS - just give in & agree to share ...at least 80% of the gay pop is open now ...the remainin 20% dont have a chance in hell of connectin unless we all move to the same state ...Go open or die alone ..take ur pic ....LMAO
My partner and I just celebrated 23 together. If either one decided to go outside of our relationship I wouldn't care as long as we are safe. I have always said that gay men cannot and should not pattern their relationships after straights. That's where so many go wrong. Life is much better with two men. We don't have the mess to deal with. My love grew stronger in these 23 years!
A relationship that works is healthy one...Healthy spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. And It takes work to keep all of those important aspects balanced. Also, time spent doesn't necessarily means that the relationship is working. Some people just become comfortable in their own turmoil. By the way, I am one who unapologetically believes in monogamy. I am not knocking those who have different views but as you said, "it works" for me.
