Some weathermen described it as a snowstorm with hurricane type winds. The city of Boston and the surrounding towns were digging out of this for weeks because it got real cold after the storm. It is one of those kind of storms that the weathermen say happens once in a lifetime. People in Revere, Ma were being evacuated by motorboats and had to get out that way. Cars were buried and people didn't bother to dig them out because nobody was going anywhere anyway. I will never forget the storm.
FOR ALL THOSE WHO SAY THIS WAS AWESOME LET ME REMIND YOU THAT 54 PEOPLE DIED THAT YEAR FROM THIS FUCKING BLIZZARD AND MANY LOST THERE HOMES FROM FLOODING FROM MELTED SNOW
@ListenToKimmi oh really??? i honestly DOUBT THAT HAPPEND FUCKING DUMASS u try to convince ppl to believe u when u probably made it all FUCKING up oh and btw THIS WAS AWESOME
@ListenToKimmi this is in regards to an old post so allow me to apologize, but I had to respond. I was 13 and living in the Boston area when that storm hit. It was every bit as hard as any report will recount. 54 people did perish and many, including a 10 year old boy, were not recovered until days or weeks later. It was ok not to have school, but that was it.
@bnsbemcl I was living in Newton Massachusetts during the blizzard of 78. The morning after the storm I "tried to get out of my house"....the snow was so deep I had to dig out the front and back door. I just could not believe how high the snow was. I am pretty tall and it was so deep I could not even walk through it. The National Guard had to come in and help the city. I hope I never see anything like this again
Ohhhh be careful what you wish for Tinytot. I remember this storm, it wasn't pretty. I was seven years old and for a week we could not drive anywhere, which meant we had to WALK everywhere we went. Yes, this was a storm to remember and I know from experience the problems it caused.
