I think it's wrong that they put Wilders on trial, not because I like that loser so much (I hate that @#*&) but because it can only end up wrong. If they win the trial you limit his freedom of speech, but if you loose you basically say as a court that it's okay to hurt people with they things he says. I know a lot of muslims (I'm Dutch) and they all feel very offended by his statements. The Koran isn't so much different from the Old Testament!! In my opinion they should crush him with arguments.

Many millions of people are still Democrats there, although they often vote for Republicans for President. However, a very large percentage of local and state officeholders are Democrats and there is no discrimination against Democrats in the South. I think it's wrong that they put Wilders on trial, not because I like that loser so much (I hate that @#*&) but because it can only end up wrong. If they win the trial you limit his freedom of speech, but if you loose you basically say as a court that it's okay to hurt people with they things he says. I know a lot of muslims (I'm Dutch) and they all feel very offended by his statements. The Koran isn't so much different from the Old Testament!! In my opinion they should crush him with arguments.

I love your try, but you're not well informed. Wilders isnt in jail, hes in a law case. He uses FoS to hurt people. There are discussions if there is a limit to it. Thats what the case is about, let the judges decide. Dont agree with him though. As connexie said, he is a media whore and loves all attention. He has some good points, but thats it. Hes not the only politician in the Netherlands fighting for FoS. Were not doing well, but were not the only country struggling at the moment.

Sorry, pal. You are quite misinformed. In the US, the South has been historically Democratic. Many millions of people are still Democrats there, although they often vote for Republicans for President. However, a very large percentage of local and state officeholders are Democrats and there is no discrimination against Democrats in the South. There are also millions of gays who live comfortably in the South. It sounds to me like you believe a lot of propaganda about the US, instead of facts.

Like I said, the political system is quite different, and getting someone convicted for insult almost never happens and is a process that takes years. Anyone has the right to get the case to court, but it's not even close to likely Wilders is even going to be convicted.

Although some people use Christianity as a political doctrine, Jesus especially told people it wasn't meant that way. Islam on the other hand, is definitely not just a spiritual belief system (and it doesn't pretend to be either). Islam also has legal, military, moral, economical, and social codes. And that's why it isn't compatible with the seperation of church and state.

You're saying this out of ignorance, because I used to think exactly like you. The main difference between Islam and other religions is that Christianity and Judaism are compilations of story books. They are inspirational. Islam is direct revelation and must be obeyed by the letter. And the fact remains that Sharia (Islam's law) is a threat that increases proportionally with the number of muslims. The majority of muslims isn't like this, but our government is bowing down to extremists.

I personally think that people should not be 100% free of speech. As an example: Geert Wilders compared the koran with Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. Is that the way you want to win a discussion? It is only insulting, and the people who it is about will not think like "dang, he's right! it is really much like Mein Kampf!". I'm Belgian and this same thing happens here. You are not allowed to speak your mind and parties who do are shunned or their leaders are put on trial. Look up Filip Dewinter, he's an amazing speaker but is constantly barraged by other parties because he speaks his mind on many issues. You are labeled a racist immediatly in Europe because of it's past. I'm very lucky we have people like Wilders. Thanks for your card and video. <3

Don't support Geert Wilder in the name of free speech. He has worked hard to have the Koran outlawed. Is that free speech?
The Netherlands should abolish its banned book list and allow all free speech whether the movie Fitna or the Koran itself.

Freedom is not free Holland, we Canadians died in WW11 liberating Holland. You have to fight for Wilders, do not let Islamic values dictate your legal system. You are in Europe not Saudi Arabia.

I certainly understand frustration with political correctness run a muck especially with regard to Islam. However, if free speech is really free than it must be free for everyone including Muslims.
Wilders is an enthusiastic supporter of the Dutch banned book list and wishes to enlarge it. Banning the Koran essentially makes Islam against the law.
Is this what you call freedom? How long before you want to ban the Bible as well?

I will fight for someone who supports freedom of speech for everyone. Freedom of speech for both those critical of Islam and for Muslims in the Western world. Geert Wilders is hypocritical calling this a free speech issue since he wants to add the Koran to the Dutch banned book list.

All law-abiding citizens in Europe who have said anything bad about Islam must immediately report to their local police station and hand themselves in. I know that when I was in Amsterdam I said that Islam was a fucking diabolical plague upon humanity, and so I intend to surrender to the Dutch authorities tomorrow.

The politicians who dare to stand up against religion aggression are ridiculed. by press and politicians.
Americans (and other nationalities) died to save our asses in ww2, and saved our asses from communism with the Marshall aid. after the war. Some of us did not forget that and are still grateful.

this is happening all over Europe and it is only so much time before it is exported to America. We need to say no to Islam and let the radicals know that we will not sit on our asses while our freedoms are taken away.
