  • κι ο peter hammill διπλοπενιές.....

  • @ABOVEZESEALEVEL Go straight to OVER (1977)!

  • @ABOVEZESEALEVEL Fool's Mate as suggested is a good start. But follow up with "The Future Now", his most accessible early record, "Sitting Target" and "Skin", his best records from the eighties.

  • IM THE FIRST TO DISLIKE

  • @ABOVEZESEALEVEL I would recommend going to his first solo record 'Fool's Mate' from 1971

  • Great video! I love the huge "V" behind him!

  • This what an indigenous ENGLISH soul music sounds like!

  • is this graham smith?

  • @krustenhund That's Stuart Gordon.

  • Make life worth more than dreams... absolutely fantastic.

Being a Hammill fan since I was fifteen, this has always been a favourite... ectually, I have (inadequately, I'm sure) tried to do this song accompanied by 'only' church organ.

What it also brings to mind is a third encore at the 'Stopera' builing in Amstredam, where Peter simply put the microphone aside, to fill the hall without any amplification or instrument...!

That was 'Chicago' (from Fripp's 'Exposure')... brilliant!

  • Peter Hammill is great. Simply great!

  • It is little known and yet so impresive. His voice is exceptional

    and original compositions! JBG

  • Beautiful. Brings a tear to me eye.

  • Is this available on DVD. I gotta know where I can find this, thanks.

  • so good it almost burns the ears!

  • he gives it the fists at 3:15 - so good it chills my soul

  • Once again, Peter gives his all, a fabulous intense performance!

  • I think this is the same performance as in "Room Temperature Live", right?

  • is the same arrangement my friend ;)

  • I WANT THE FUTURE NOW!

  • Impresionante. La voz de este tipo es incomparable.

  • Me hacen erizar. La mùsica de Hammill y VDGG se me ha mezclado con los años de estudio de medicina y ver un libro es recordarlos. No voy a olvidarlos nunca.

  • Very good version, I like this song and hoping like him for a great change. Keep on dreamin...and maybe who knows!

  • beste Version dieses Songs und geniales Video. Gratulation! gelungene Kameraführung!

  • If only people in England knew what PH means to people in other countries - such as Greece, where I grew up... Thanks for this...

  • It's true, Hammill means a lot to people here in Greece, his concerts are attended with an almost religious devotion and dedication every time he comes. I've seen audiences watch him in absolute silence, as if being in a church.

  • @ucsasmh He was known in stage theater because he wrote some stuff for older rock operas. The Who has some similar style during their Tommy album. People see this as a bit fem but David Bowie Ziggy has an element of this in it.

  • @ucsasmh Friend....you've spoken straight to my heart.....and I'm a greek too...we have a strong Hammill fan base I see.....which makes me so glad

  • @ucsasmh If only people in America knew what PH means to all his admirers. I'm a 15-year old from Portland, Oregon, and Hammill's entire 70s output (not to mention VdGG) is among my most treasured listening.

  • Excellent! Where and when is this?

  • I Think it's 1991

    But I'm not sure

  • The Best artist in 20 century and as far in 21 to ;) (Sorry for error)

  • The Best artist in 21 century, and as far in 22 too

    Very emotional song.

  • I meant "Genius", not "Genious"! I saw Peter Hammill in Gouveia two years ago and I´m looking forward to see him again on April, 6th in Gouveia, Portugal along with Hugh Banton and Guy Evans. Long live Van der Graaf Generator!

  • Bloody Marvellous!!! The Man is a Genious, period. Thank you very much, gastmeier.

  • Great! Thanks for this!
