exactly, so even if the car is remote started and sumbody smashes ur window and gets in, they cant get anywhere because the car WILL NOT shift into any gear whatsoever, thats being said for AUTOS only idk know about stickshift.
yeah the remote start is only available on the automatic tranny. You can get an aftermarket starter if u get the manual. I would reccomend aftermarket anyway seeing that the remote start from the factory is outrageously priced!
@eurofeli Umm.. Some people may live in cold areas and want to have the car warm up while they are getting ready. Some people may live in warm areas and want the A/C to cool down the in side just before they are about to leave. And while you are in side doing whatever you are doing a stranger wont take off with your ride because they wont have the key. Seems quite simple.

To warm/cool the interior before you have to get into it. But you wouldn't want someone to take off with it so it requires the key to drive.
