There is a great America that is concealed from the world to see. Not just the tradition of Bluegrass, but Woody Guthrie, The Nearings, Thoreau, Joe Hill, The Wobblies, so much that is overlooked and was trodden on by the corporations. Keep in touch with your true soul America! Forget those corporate scams. Don't buy their throwaway culture. Death will find your true character, let it be upright and a forgiving one.
I was the one who submitted his recording of this to the Grammy Awards that year! What a sublime pleasure it was to see him beat out all those 'corporate' major label "hat acts" that year! What a dark horse victory!
One of my favorites singing one of my favorites at one of my favorite places...Thank you for posting!

It's just amazing how a few words can chill you to the bone. Especially when they are spoken by one so near to the grave as he looks to be there.
