I don't think that is the case for SMB1. SMB2's target music is much better.

I loved this area! Monkey Target was the highlight of this game for me.

Too bad they RUINED IT COMPLETELY for Banana Blitz on the Wii. I was looking forward to playing monkey target with the Wii controls.

Yeah, the mini games were kinda lame in that game, and I wish they made story mode multiplayer like the previous instalments. Gosh, the only thing they really improved was GonGon's voice, the uniqueness of the Monkeys and they graphics (all in my opinion), the music's on par though because I loved the second games equally, but the minigames were boring for the most part. At least they kept the good monkey race song. and the bosses were cool.

This game's target music isn't liked. However, SMB2's version is far, far better and holds a record in my music collection - sounding decent at the highest known speed - more than 8 times normal speed (I still don't know what it's upper limit really is...).

I own SMB1 but not the sequel. I never did get around to it, but I need to now with low prices on used titles.
