Awesome collection :) I'm an EBR guy myself and hang around ARFcom and THR too much. Now we need to help the owner of the gun shop that legally followed all local, state, and federal laws in selling a firearm to the real killer. He is being threatened with death and harm, and his website is down temporarily. He is another scapegoat people want to blame because someone happened to abuse a product he sold following all laws. Maybe we should sue Ford for drunk drivers and ReMax for meth houses!

Are you afraid of everyone around you? You have some silly fears. Are you afraid of being stabbed? What about getting knocked out with a baseball bat, where you are then tied up and tossed into a river where you slowly drown. Are you afraid of that happening too? Heck, if the vast majority of people weren't inherently good people, civil order would never take place. I suggest you take the time and understand why your fears are based in a world of fiction.

I understand the logic of what you're saying. But then again, I still think there's the potential for accidents. Whether or not most people are good or not idiots I don't know. Maybe you're right. Canada has guns no crime? Japan has no guns no crime! I still wouldn't want everyone packing around me. And at least make them take some kind of sanity and safety test.

Well you have good arguments. But I do have that phobia: it's so easy to end someones life with a gun! Switzerland may be a great example; the best case scenario. If they're not on the baseball team I suspect the worst.

Switzerland has one of the highest firearm ownerships per capita in the world, the government actively promotes firearm ownership, and they have even less gun crime than Japan. Culture, not objects, plays a large role in crime. Such countries that are melting pots of different ethnicities, races, and religions which can give rise to tensions. The US still has high crime stats even if you remove gun-related deaths.

You can't magically wave a wand and ban something like guns, drugs, or any marketable item. It will just turn up in an underground market. To believe otherwise is plain fantasy.

The UK banned firearms after the 1996 Dublane shooting and it's done them no good at all. Crimminals still have guns and authorities tried to change subjects by attempting to ban and legislate knives and even glass. Good job on ignoring social, cultural, and racial tensions!

you're right! You know you all have good arguments because I think that these cases are aberrant and not good incidents upon which to draw lessons. I hold to my conviction that more gun control would be better for US society and I don't want people carrying guns to class, but I'm sorry to make this case a lesson on this issue. I guess I think there should be checks on the acquisition process.
