As far as I know, B5 hyperspace is like a huge ball. Its 2-dimensional surface is our 3-d world. If we go into this ball, there will be ball with a smaller radius, but its center is the same as normal space. So, I think quantumspace is actually an EVEN smaller ball than hyperspace. And in "Thirdspace", it is stated, that thirdspace is instantenous, so I think the center of the ball is thirdspace.
yeah i think you got it right on the money. quantum space is the step before you get to third space. and quantum space was prob the vorlon answer to the shadows phasing tech. In the show when the vorlons used regular hyper space i think it was to just put on a disguise in front of the other races.. not showing them how powerful they really are.
I disagree. I think this is either an inconsistency OR the Vorlons never used this thing, and it is a mixture of HS and Thirdspace tech, or it is just based on Vorlon tech. I mean, the Vorlons had reasons to hide things, but not when they turned mad. Ulkesh didn't bother himself to retain his angelic disguise when he was attacked by Sheridan and Kosh. Using QS to get to Coriana 6 would be more effective, and it would hide their fleet without "folds" in HS.
the vorlons were secretive - they could've used Quantum Drives which were not mentioned in the series simply because Vorlons, like Minbari, "don't exactly tell you everything."
Hey, sorry. Forgot to mention I was kidding. I actually came to this page off a link from a Stargate message board! We were talking about the "wormhole drive" over there, so to me it was funny to see such a familiar conversation happening over here.

the vorlons wanted order, more precisely, their order, to control the direction of the younger races, and a big part of that was manipulating how they thought and how they developed tech.
many fan-fictions i read went as far as to have the vorlons sabotage development of tech they considered the younger races 'not ready for'.
Keep in Mind the Wars on Earth, made us adept at groundwarfare. ie tanks, heliocopters , IFVS not to mention future force soldier. So technically earth while a newcomer to space warfare are experts on ground and we got the warlock destroyers

That's the thing, no one truly knew *how* powerful the Vorlons were, hell we only ever saw a small portion of their fleet in battle. I hope in future movies we get to explore Vorlon and even Shadow space some more.
