Post 9/11, over 30 serious, credible attacks (one at the Sears Tower) were foiled. But as hesitant to securing the border as you insist Obama is, the stimulus bills have allocated a ton of money to the border states specifically for border security. There are more border patrol agents working now than at any point in US history. Obama has sent troops to the border.

Compare that to the military rules in which the Guantanamo detainees are tried under, in which 90% of them are set free due to a complete lack of evidence of any wrongdoing.

Specifically, the right to bear arms is not necessarily infringed upon by requiring background checks, or by banning certain types of weaponry. It's also ambiguous whether the document was intended to refer to militiamen, so your interpretation turns out to be very extreme. Regardless, we ought to repeal the 2nd Amendment, as gun control is obviously desirable, and hindered by this debate.
