I just became enlisted into the U.S. Army a couple days ago. I am heading to Ft. Benning in August 2012 (I still have to graduate, that's why It's a while away).
its so wrong still these days, there needs to be an all female infantry team in all military branches. women have rights as well and women show that they can be as strong a men can be and even stronger.

I served in vietnam. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a POG! Every soldier is defending our great nation, one way or an other. Saying every other soldier except infantry is a POG, is not showing the proper respect the rest of our men and women deserve.
i had a great uncle who served in the 27th infantry. during ww2. he died on saipan. had 2 other uncles who were infantry during ww2. they were wounded in europe. one in italy. one in france. had another uncle who served with the 24th infantry during korea. he died on the pusan perimeter. had another uncle who served with the 1st infantry in vietnam. infantry is in my blood.

Boy do I miss those benning nights.I can't believe it's been almost two years and a deployment! One time durning FTX we were on a patrol we rucked 8 miles sleept for 30 min under the beautiful Georgia sky in the middle of some opened field,got back up to ruck another 8 miles set up an OP and All I can remember is my battle buddy telling me the I fell a sleep in the prone unsupported lol.

@mansonfollower15 army infantry school is really hardcore its a14 week smoke fest you wont learn much but they wip your ass in great shape! marine boot camp is kinda the same way but their more into drill and trying to teach you on how to be a marine drill instructors are tough but they are willing to teach you,infanrty ait for the army at benning is a nightmare for men! i would know becouse i was a marine 05 to 09 and army 09 to now!

Also I see comments saying us as infantry are over looked. If you're a pogue, then that means everyone else's job is in some way shape or form to support you. I as an infantryman have the most critical job in the U.S. army. I am the backbone. And about the marines saying the Army's infantry sucks, Well we've been fighting for this country longer than the country has been ours. The Army out dates our country.

They're not elite as far as them being basic trained marines. Certain training can make them elite, Just like us Army guys. I mean I have lots of marine buddies. Over youtube you see alot of people posing to be marines or Army and talk shit about the other branch, but when you have bullets flying past your head the only thing that matters is that flag on your arm. On the note of 11 charlie, My future brother in law was out in Iraq a few years back in operation Iraqi freedom, And they were about to go out on a mission and the dude didn't want the 11c guys going out there with them, so they had to stay on base. Two black hawks went out with 11b dudes and came back empty. Because they couldn't get the type of fire on the enemy as the 11c guys could. Bad choice right? My brother in law is also airborne qualified but like myself have been stuck in leg units.
Yeah dude 11x is just infantry that aren't assigned to a unit, I.e state side. My sisters Fiance is serving in 11Charlie right now, They don't exactly do both kicking in doors and mortars, They're typically known as the lazy side of the infantry. although their not lazy. I'm airborne qualified but served two terms of duty in Afghanistan so far as 11 Bravo.
well i dont no too much about the gear issued in iraq but why would that type of uniform be issued, its not traditional army ACU or a BDU or anything similar, thats why i assumed it was marines.
The army used to have two issues back when they had BDUs they were also issued desert uniforms... I don't know what they were called... but yeah, it is an odd uniform.

Its weird how everyone is so hyped to join the army and cant wait but are then so eagerly ready to leave, especially after war in Iraq...I guess when one gets older and exposed to reality, they realize this isnt a video game like MODERN WARFARE 1 OR 2!!!!!

@renegadekav How does that sound hippy? Alot of people hate the idea of sitting in a cubicle or desk all day. Thats why many leave to become truck drivers, self employed, etc....I know plenty of officers who say and hate exactly what I say and they are 10+ years in at Captains and Majors.

@mansonfollower15 army infantry school is really hardcore its a14 week smoke fest you wont learn much but they wip your ass in great shape! marine boot camp is kinda the same way but their more into drill and trying to teach you on how to be a marine drill instructors are tough but they are willing to teach you,infanrty ait for the army at benning is a nightmare for men! i would know becouse i was a marine 05 to 09 and army 09 to now!

Also I see comments saying us as infantry are over looked. If you're a pogue, then that means everyone else's job is in some way shape or form to support you. I as an infantryman have the most critical job in the U.S. army. I am the backbone. And about the marines saying the Army's infantry sucks, Well we've been fighting for this country longer than the country has been ours. The Army out dates our country.

The reason Marine Infantryman say that is because they cant stand the fact that theyre second hand soldiers. They're kinda like some guy talking alot of shit to compensate for a small dick. Thats all Marines do. Elite my ass. They will never admit it though.

They're not elite as far as them being basic trained marines. Certain training can make them elite, Just like us Army guys. I mean I have lots of marine buddies. I give them hell all the time about Falluja and their fuck ups, But they do the same to us. Over youtube you see alot of people posing to be marines or Army and talk shit about the other branch, but when you have bullets flying past your head the only thing that matters is that flag on your arm. On the note of 11 charlie, My future brother in law was out in Iraq a few years back in operation Iraqi freedom, And they were about to go out on a mission and the dude didn't want the 11c guys going out there with them, so they had to stay on base. Two black hawks went out with 11b dudes and came back empty. Because they couldn't get the type of fire on the enemy as the 11c guys could. Bad choice right? My brother in law is also airborne qualified but like myself have been stuck in leg units.

Yeah dude 11x is just infantry that aren't assigned to a unit, I.e state side. My sisters Fiance is serving in 11Charlie right now, They don't exactly do both kicking in doors and mortars, They're typically known as the lazy side of the infantry. although their not lazy. I'm airborne qualified but served two terms of duty in Afghanistan so far as 11 Bravo.

well i dont no too much about the gear issued in iraq but why would that type of uniform be issued, its not traditional army ACU or a BDU or anything similar, thats why i assumed it was marines.

The army used to have two issues back when they had BDUs they were also issued desert uniforms... I don't know what they were called... but yeah, it is an odd uniform.
