The real locomotive of that road number 1500 was in the movie runaway train and they preserved it at a railway museum in Alaska from what I heard.

When I saw the engine set, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the paint scheme. I simply could not leave without it! The engines did not perform like all modern model engines do (this particular loco was built in 1993), so I upgraded the engines and decoders, of course also with added engine sounds!

Thanks, the ARR locomotives have recently been modified with more modern electronics and engine, so the speed can be controlled way better than before. I'll try to post a new video soon.

Nice trains and layout. Is your Alaska equipment rtr or custom painted?

Thanks for your comment, and the Alaska Railroad train set was built by Marklin in 1993, so it was not custom painted.
