  • I love the laugh at 4:17.... SO EVIL!!!

  • This Glinda is British, which works better on the London stage than Kristen Chenoweth would have. Kristen is still amazing though!

  • Glinda works better as a Brit for some reason. I just noticed it!

  • I love how Idina was smiling most of the time when she should be loathing this Brit who is not as good as Kirstin. By a long shot.

  • @TheRamenLovinGamer I MEANT KRISTEN!! MAN I FAIL!

  • I want to see this soooooooooooooo bad!!!

  • I like the dancing teddy bear in the back :D

  • i love how how Kristin have that long explanation and then ldina just says blond

  • @TheSiaxpuppy that isn't Kristin. ANd that's kind of the point. It's supposed to be funny..

  • @margarita141414 oh my bad and i was just saying

  • why does kristen have a brittish accent??>

  • @pinklovergal14

    this is the british cast

  • @awesomechic99100 Ohhh! Gotcha I was like what the heck :) thanks

  • @pinklovergal14 It's not Kristen, but Elphaba is still Idina

  • @pinklovergal14 That's not Kristin. That's Annalene Beechley and she doesn't look anything like Kristin.

  • @boffinme80 Why wasn't it Helen? Personally, I prefer Annalene, but I'd have thought it'd be Helen for something as big as Children In Need..?

  • papopcicle! I <3 that also 2:51.....what the heck!

  • papopcicle! I <3 that

  • I think the American version was better with Idina and Kristen... their voices seem to blend better in these songs.

  • I think that Chandra Lee Schwarz who is playing Glenda in Chicago is every bit a good as Kristin Chenowith....except she has a better voice. I think that Jackie Burns, who plays Elphaba is better than Idina Menzel as she embraces the character better. Just my opinion, but if I had a chance to see Menzel/Cheno or Burns/Schwarz I would pick Burns/Schwarz any time

  • I really want to know, whats with the bear doing the worm at the beginning of the video?

  • That Glinda is not Kristen. WHY?. She is not at all silly, just WAAAAAY too proper, where as Glinda's supposed to be funny and silly.

  • @superhyper39 This is the London version of wicked. After Idina quit the Broadway show west end asked her to revive her role. But I do agree. No one compares to Cheno!!!!

  • PEOPLE PLEASE! THIS IS URGENT AND IMPORTANT. READ CAREFULLY. It's KristIN not KristEN. Thankyou for your time :) also STOP INSULTING THE BRITISHNESS! It's unfair to judge us on THAT Glinda... we don't speak of her......

  • I love how Idina sang the part "...every little trait however small..." then she point to her head. LOL! BLOND!! Totally love Idina!

  • love the orchestra

  • The news guy is the guy from Austin Powers,I think.

  • I don't like the girl who plays Glinda. it's just Idina and Kristin's tandem was the best.

NOBODY CAN EVER BEAT THE ORIGINAL.

  • p-popsical...seriously?

  • @DraculasDaughter13 it sounds really gay. and gross

  • @DraculasDaughter13 I think it's actually ''Papopsicle' (as in the merging of the words ''papa'' and ''popsicle''). And to my knowledge all the London Galindas use this rather than simply ''popsicle'', probably because we don't generally use ''pops'' to refer to our father... OK, so ''popsicle'' isn't really used either, but I guess the director wanted to keep the quirkyness of the line whilst also adding some (in my opinion, somewhat unnecessary) ''Britishness'' to it.

  • Haha poor Idina. She has no clue what any body is talking about. Or who Ronan Keating is. That makes her very lucky one

  • is this idina playing elphie??????

  • @theamazingBEXX Right now? No. But She did originated the role of Elphaba on Brodway with Kristin chenoweth as Glinda in 2003.

She hasn't played Elphie since december 2006 in london.

  • I AM NOT REPLYING TO ANYONE ELSE ON HERE SO LISTEN UP.

    1. i said my opinion and what it is, is that i dont like the english voice in wicked.

    2. i am not american so you cannot call me an american brat who is bias.

    3. everyone who is saying im a twat blah blah blah and saying im a hypocrite... look at what you just wrote to me.

    SO TO SUM UP

WE ARE ALL JUST AS BAD AS EACH OTHER SO STFU

  • @thekimmydoo I am looking forward to you getting reported, serves you right!!

  • that sad part is you watch the musical and you kinda get depressed about how that the best character in the whole thing gets crushed by a house.

  • @boffinme80 it's funny because im not american so my view is not bias at all. which therefore you cannot call me an american twat and i DO like wicked in other countries, just not this UK version, so stop over reacting because your attitude is just as bad as ours :)

  • @thekimmydoo I am trying to get it into your heads to quit critcising us all the time. It's just rude and foolish! Why is it you never give the UK version credit?? I think Annalene sounds a tiny bit forced but who are you to flame the UK cast all the time? It's unacceptable!

  • @thekimmydoo If you think I'm overreacting it's because your comments always start off an argument! If you state your opinion in a considerate mannner, you wouldn't have this problem! Look at your comment again. "Ugh the English accent"

Do you find anything wrong with that? When are you just going to quit making a big deal out if it all the time? Seriously I cannot watch a video if the comments are always negative and flaming the UK version. So just leave it alone!

  • @boffinme80 I'm entitled to my opinion and you're entitled to yours and your comments have given me and many other users a lot of amusement :)

  • @thekimmydoo I know that's what you intend to say but don't you think that was a bit rude?

  • @thekimmydoo Just make sure next time, express your opinion in a valid way. It's not fair on us. You have every right to prefer other casts but please give us credit.

Don't make your comments sound so spiteful because it just hurts other people, including me.

  • @thekimmydoo Wicked is also huge in Britain as well so make us feel like we fit in and are not rejected from everyone else. It's awful when you point out a small thing and make it worse than it really is and then refuse to cut it slack.

  • @boffinme80 well clearly you're a first on youtube because THEY'RE ARE RUDE COMMENTS ON VERY VIDEO. you better get around quickly to go and get pissed off at everyone else as well. good luck to you youtube police

  • @thekimmydoo You really are a STUPID selfish immature little girl!! For your information I have been on here longer than you have and I know there are rude comments but you are being TOTALLY unfair! I am only stating out my view and you don't even want to regret it! If you don't want to listen then fine be a fucking bitchy madam then! I'm only trying to get a point across and you send me rude comments! Well I don't want to bother with a selfish little twat like you.

  • @boffinme80 like i said before you're just as bad as all of us :) k cool thanks bye

  • @thekimmydoo Haven't you ever noticed that you are one of the reasons why there are arguments on here? I can't help but notice the hypocrisy in your comment!

  • @perfume1965 and i never said that what i said was bad you idiot. you at what you just say to me. WE ARE ALL JUST AS BAD AS EACH OTHER SO SHUT UP

  • @thekimmydoo YOU shut the fuck up you spoilt little bitch!! If you hadn't been such a cunt in the first place you wouldn't HAVE mean comments!!

Great another fruitcake who refuses to admit they're in the wrong!

  • @perfume1965 and sorry im getting reported for saying eughh the english accent and you and a lot of other people arent for calling me a twat cunt and everything else... im sorry you should ALL go look at your comments that you have said to me. and you all contradict each other... so yeh im not replying anymore because this is a waste of time

  • i dont really like how the blonde one sings! but she is good. I just like the real one better

  • I don't think that their voices go together AT ALL!!! But I love the acting side of it.

  • eughh yuck the english accent :/

the australian cast puts on american accents and it works really well.... they should have done that for the UK one

  • @thekimmydoo english is a language -_- if you mean british accent then i don't agree with you and i'm not from England i'm a pure Aussie and i have a british background cuz of my grandma anyways didn't you stop to think what you are posting is rascist?, did you understand the risks of posting your comment up?, if you didn't but sorry but your just making yourself look even more stupid because you are being rascist and your maybe not using your mind the right way and i understand your form Aus.

  • @thekimmydoo And you should know that saying "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!" i'm sure everyone has been telling you that so many times but you just ignore them so that means your being disrespectful to the people that have told you that! :)

  • its weird seeing glinda speaking in the english accent when i've heard kristin chenoweth act as her! But I love wicked whoever it is!

  • No one will ever be able to match Idina and Kristen

  • Ok... I love the ending where Elphie scares the living crap out of Glinda! It's great!

  • Que dlacinha

  • i WISH there was this good quality with kristin as glinda, she is so much better :/

  • Glinda keeps dragging the orchestra.

  • I really like her as Galinda, people get seem not to like different interpretations of roles once they are so used to the original one. The British accent really works for the character, and her voice is nice. She is no Kirsten Chenoweth at this particular role, so its unfair to compare them like that at only one role. :)

  • @tobyWarrenD Glinda was actually more snobby in the book so I think Annalene is portraying her well. Kristin portrayed her as bubbly and daft.

  • why in london do they say Papopsicle

  • @defying379 because it sound more british and i think more glinda like

  • I love Idina Menzel she's amazing

  • thats not kristen!!!! grrrrrrr it's not perfect with out kristen!!!!

  • @whitehorsez13 Oh course it's not Kristen, She's in Broadway! This is the west end cast.

  • okay, that women who is playing GLinda needs to find a musical thats more opertaic, becuase she cant sing this song. WHERE IS KRISTEN CHENSWORTH???

  • @magalchemy

one its chenoweth and two the part is also a bit oporatic(sp) in songs like no one mourns the wicked and thank goodness

  • SHELBY FROM GLEEEEEEEEE <3 :D

  • Helen is my 3rd favourite Glinda.

    Kristin Chenoweth owns all though.

  • Blonde!

  • 8 people were dyslexic and hit the thumbs down button >.<

  • Is that IDina??

  • Who is Elphaba?

  • meh. Kristin and Idina's voices work so much better together....

  • I think Idina is the BEST Elpheba.

  • What is the name of the actress playing glinda?

  • @Hamsterini10 Helen Dallimore

  • @XxElphabaX No that is not Helen. That is Annalene Beechey who was the understudy.

  • @boffinme80 Oh! Lol oopsie!

  • @XxElphabaX It's ok. Other people have made that mistake :)

  • @boffinme80 Lol! that makes me feel a bit better! :)

  • @XxElphabaX Well I like Annalene better than Helen. A lot more. Bit posh but at least she can sing and act unlike Helen.

  • @boffinme80 Now that you mention it, watching the video back, shes to good to be Helen :)

  • BOO!

    AH!

    hahah!

  • I love the way she just says "blonde" as though it explains everything! Love Idina!!!!

  • Kristen and Idina sound better together.

  • i love how when she says "your voice" she does it in a 'british' accent

and when she says "how ever small" she emphasizes on the small and points to her head emplying galinds brain is small XD XP

  • the british accent = "popopsicle" =wtheck XS

  • Why doesn't Idina perform in America anymore? And why did Kristin Chenowith Quit? Does she preform at all anymore?

  • That's Idina, right?

  • @TheMagicOfDisney101 it is indeed.

  • @TheMagicOfDisney101 Indeed it is :-)

  • idina looks like an outcast here! a good outcast

  • I love Idina's voice at the end after she does the BOO :)

  • "BOO!" "AHHHH!" "HEHEHEHE!"

  • Just a heads up: This is the ENGLISH cast! So everyone thinks Idina has the accent. Accents clash. It happens. I couldn't sing it any better.

  • I think that Helen sounds really good usually, but I don't really like the way she sings Popular (I prefer Dianne Pilkington).

I just love Helen's voice with Idina's, though!

  • funny how som many of these comments are from people being so closed minded about who's playing the characters in a play that's about people being closed minded

  • I HATE Helen as Glinda. Kristen Chenoweth can act and sing circles around her.

  • @hugbiugugiwb totally agree

  • @hugbiugugiwb I compleatly Agree!!!

  • @hugbiugugiwb: This isn't Helen, this is Annalene Beechy.

  • @hugbiugugiwb I totally agree. Kristen is way better.

  • @hugbiugugiwb This is Annalene Beechey..... who is disgraceful.......

  • @boffinme80 Yes I HAVE seen her actually. Wednesday 15th November 2006. I was 12. I didn't like her. Honestly I'm sorry if you have a different opinion but there was just something about her that wasn't quite right.... and just because she's one of my least favorite Glindas doesn't mean you can't like her and please respect my opinion and don't try to change it.

  • I hate how theyre all british and then idina is like yeah, im american.

  • @alley458

Well, I think it's actually cool. I mean, it makes her character even more different than the rest. She's unique.

  • glinda shouldnt have an accent she's suppose to be ditzy not very proper

  • @vbstar1416

Umm Kristin has an accent. And wasn't Glinda proper in the Wizard of Oz?

  • I think what you mean is she's supposed to sound childish and concieted rather than sophisticated

  • I love the end "Boo!" "Ahh!" Hahahaa. :) One of the best songs in the musical. Idina plays an AWESOME Elphaba. And I LOVE her in Rent, too. <3

  • i love this cast, i also loved it with kristin, but i hate the new glinda and elphaba

  • the smile was sarcasm, it's perfectly in her character

  • she went out of character at 3:42 she smiled and wasn't supposed to so she is almost perfect

  • I love Idina!! Although I don't like this Glinda. She is singing the whole thing in head voice it sounds like which sounds really odd for this song, especially when Idina is belting some parts and singing the rest in chest voice.

  • It's hard to beat Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda. I'm willing to give other actresses a chance, but this one isn't as good.

  • U GOTTA LOVE THAT LAUGH!!!lol

  • I completly agree with LiveLaughLove...Idina is a PERFECT Elpheba, but the girl playing Glinda just doesn't fit Glinda's character...it was akward and seemed forced.

btw WICKED IS THE BEST PLAY EVER!!!

  • I love this song...the girl who plays Elpheba is fantastic (Is this Idina?) But I honestly hate the girl who plays Glinda in this. They sound off-key when they sing together, I think. Not trying to be a hater and mean, but that's my honest opinion. Kristen is the one and only Glinda I believe :)

  • LOVE THIS!

But Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth

  • I love how whenever Idina is asked to read something, she says, " No! I can't! " Then she does absolutely amazing.

    Hahaha.

    XD

  • im looking forward to going again soooo much tickets r booked eeeekkk

love these two idina is fab as elphaba love her

  • Blond x)

  • heart it!

  • I've always loved the way Idina says "blonde" in such a matter-of-fact tone. I think it's funnier than other actresses who always seem to take the annoyed, eyes rolling at the ceiling, approach as though Galinda's hair is a source of constant ache instead of something that can be funny.

  • aha the cackle is the best

  • It really irritates me that she sings sometimes with her british accent and sometimes with a put on american one.

  • I mean, it's Wicked and I love it, regardless. It's just an observation. She just doesn't seem to have the spark that Kristin does as Galinda

  • 3:41 is tht a break in cherictor i see?? (Idina)

  • cheractor* and i love this song... im just tht much of a loser tht i look for stuff like that all the time!

  • *character

  • I agree, I was wondering about the smile. :) It was cute though!

  • @bitney123 No, ma'am. Elphie, Idina's character, was laughing at Glinda's jump. If you pay attention, Elphie jumps out of nowhere and scares Glinda, causing Elphie to laugh. :D I thought that, too, at first, though.

  • I don't like her accent, seems too... English, for G(a)linda

  • *ahem* cheers but we do not sound sound like that we speak normaly thank you very much

  • I know, my dads English, and remember, normal is relative (I'm an Aussie)

  • oh right sorry bout that

  • u get used to it, if you watch the whole show through after 5 mins you don't notice it!

  • this is kristen??

  • Nope, that's Helen Dallimore and Idina Menzel, they were both part of London's original cast.

  • oh wow! i didn't know that - thank you! :]

  • Correction. Sorry that is Annalene Beechey the Original London Standby Glinda. :)

  • ikr!me too.she sounds so much better

  • y did elpahba touch her head wen she sung "how ever small?"

  • shes implying that glindas brain is small.. meaning glinda is dumb

  • oh right LOL thats good very cheecky lol thanx so much x

  • hinting at g(a)linda's brain size

  • thanx but i no now cos sum 1 else told me but honestly thanx anyway

  • I prefer the english version so better than the american. The American bug the hell out of me! I saw it at the west end in october 2009 with ashleigh gray and the other woman I can't remember. I liked it wen I actually saw this live but this is great. Sorry that I've gone on and on.

  • really well im going to c the show in 19 days (my first west end show) in london so far it sounds INCREDABLE wot was the best bit?

  • Everything was gr8!

  • YES cant wait thank u so much!

  • yeah. Kristen quit coz she didn't want to ware out her voice. Which is sad... I liked her better too.

  • Yay! Idina!

  • Did wicked started in London or in Broadway??

  • Broadway.

  • Broadway

  • No. San Francisco. Then Broadway.

  • i love this song!!!the adio got a little off at the end but still it was AWESOME!!!!!

  • why should she? it's the london cast of wicked and not the cast from broadway so there's no need to change her accent

  • I think she's great. You're just not used to her. I don't know why you're saying she sucks just because she used a British accent. She's a good actress.

That is a bit offensive to Brits you know.

  • you lot who don't like galinda, its because you're used to the american one, not because she's bad. because you're not used to her! :)
