Hey Tex, that sure looks like a left handed bow strung backwards.......It doesn't look right when you draw it. Check to see if it's not a lefty strung wrong.

Tex: Its been a while. I see that you are getting into traditional archery hunting with the stick bow. What is the poundage? 60? I looked at one made from black walnut with a calf skin  handle. Are you going to shoot wooden arrows with stone flint heads? Are you going to go all out and get a leather Davie Crockett suit with a coon hat with deer hide moccasins? Don't laugh because traditional hunters go all out to make it authentic a possible. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward!

Your elbow is way high. This will be a problem if you instinctive shoot at odd angles, as you probably will in real world hunting. Hold your bow at full draw the way you do now and with your arm flat, you'll feel the difference

flu- flu fletchings , some foam disk to throw in the air and shoot are awesome fun with a long bow, also judo tips and i bicycle tire with a piece of wire run thru the middle so u can attach balloons and roll the tire and shoot on the move is also great fun, i used to cant my longbow to the side for instinctive shooting (to the right cause im right handed)...

You need to come back to full draw. You'll become much more consistent doing so. Come back to at least the corner of your mouth if not farther back. Nice bow.

@FatGuyWithAKatana I believe that those who are unable to use a normal bow should be allowed to hunt with a crossbow. However I see no reason why an able boddied person would want to kill game with a crossbow.

Also, for people like me who think compounds are stupid, no offence intended, crossbows fill the role of compounds. Compounds aren't really bows anymore however, crossbows are fun.
