  • The good old days. Where the NFC East dominated the NFL and where all the teams beat one another. The Giants had the Redskins number, the Redskins had the Cowboys number, the Cowboys had the Eagles number and the Eagles had the Giants number.

  • You just don't see celebrations like this anymore. These are some true genuine happy people. A real party

  • Wow this was abeating just like Baltimore gave oakland in the 2000 AFC championship

  • I'll always remember Schroeder on the sideline appearing like he had just been knocked out by Tyson, which is what it felt like for opposing QB's taking on the '86 Giants. Schroeder probably had a concussion.

  • Pat and John Madden made CBS football what is best to watch they knew how to they were the best

  • Amazing that John Madden was the greatest AFC coach, and the greatest NFC announcer. Growing up with him and Summerall on CBS, I couldn't believe that he was coach of the Raiders.

  • I loved when Carson went incognito with the fedora and trenchcoat.

  • God I miss these days. Those games that ended just before the sun set in December at 4:45 and shit, with trash flying around with those old 30 MPH wind gusts. THIS WAS MY YOUTH.

  • Schroeder looking rough starting at 1:42

  • Must have felt so damn good after years of ineptitude. What a moment for the Giants.

  • Almost missed it,but that was a young Bill Belichick shaking hands with Carson at :46.

    And he was SMILING,lol

  • 17 - 0.

One of the best games in Giants history.

I still have it on tape.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • @GeorgeVreelandHill Is there a way you can upload the game on youtube.

  • Jay Schredor was always a fuckin pussy

  • @G2ThaBizzo Jay Schroeder = Jay Cutler

  • @ 0:28 look's like bill parcells has got the fear of gatorade dumped on his head

  • that was a nice day for giants fans!

we jets fans have been waiting now for 43 years for something similar!

  • Can you upload any of the Giants games from 1986?

  • this was the greatest coaching staff ever assembeled! Parcells, Belichick, Crennel, Weis, Coughlin, Fox, Haley, Henning, Ireland.

  • @guesswho21900 the 50s giants had lombardi as offensive coordinator and landry as defensive coordinator. otherwise yes that is a pretty good coaching staff

  • @guesswho21900 Don't forget Ron Earnhart the offensive coordinator

  • Still loving it.

  • From a Redskins fan.... respect to those Giants teams of the 80s. They were a tough bunch during that decade. The NFC East hasn't seen great teams like that since.

Both of those Giants Super Bowl wins back then were followed by a Redskins Super Bowl win too.

  • @rmur23 Yes they were. And that's why the Skins are the only team in the NFC East I respect.

  • I remember watching this game with a friend of mine. He was in a hospital at the time as he had suffered a serious injury (he would recover) and we were both Giant fans. It was the first time I think that the Giants would play in a Superbowl which they won.

  • You don't see celebrations like this anymore. This is how your supposed to celebrate your teams big victory.

  • I remember this game very well.

I have it on VHS tape, but I will put it on DVD sometime.

Sweet memories of a great era for the Giants.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • As a Redskin fan this was a very tough day especially to lose the NFC Championship to the hated Giants. But this was the loss that launched the 1987 Road to the Super Bowl for the Redskins & are 2nd Super Bowl Championship in 6 seasons.

  • Giant Curse starts when they moved away from that old dump. I hope the Jets start winning championships by the bench we are the real NEW YORK Team J-E-T-S Jets jets jets

  • @Crabman2186 Curse? It's 100 feet away. KNOCK IT OFF.

  • @Crabman2186 NY Giants: 3 Super Bowl Championships NY Jets: 1 Super Bowl Championship

    That is all:-)

  • @Crabman2186 Win a Super Bowl then talk about being New York's team

  • Broncos fan here, but I think both the Giants and Resksins (as well as the Eagles) are class. Of course, the Cowboys are a bunch of scumbags and Jerry is a jerk.

  • this could be what the weather could look like for the 2014 super bowl

  • @thegov1020 And if you have a problem with it, take your ass to Miami. WE LOVE OUR WEATHER. And hopefully the Jints are playing.

  • I miss these times. I truly do. I wasn't born for the 50s an early 60s Giants teams so this was such a great experience. Superbowl XXV was amazing too (wide right Norwood) but this 86 team was amazing. Everything came together that year.Simms in the SB 22 for 25 for 268 yards, come on. Say what you will about him but he came to play on THE day. And yes Summerall and Madden's can't be beat. No one calls a game like they did. Perfection.

  • I remember at 2 years old my dad an uncles tossing me around after they won it all in 86, I also remember Super Bowl XXV wide right too. Still you have to think that XLII was the best because not only was it not expected to happen but the Giants stopped a dynasty.

  • What a wild scene the stadium is, it is very similar to New Years.

  • "And again Giant fans staying on the scene...to make this celebration last and last and here comes Carson!" Oh it still gives me chills.

  • same here. i miss these days. football is not like this anymore, nor is any giant game now a days

  • @NYGiants869007 I agree. The NFL has changed (I still love it) but you don't see good celebrations like this anymore.

  • @NYGiants869007 Giants games in the new stadium are embarrassing to me.

  • @NYGiants869007 If you have it, can you load up videos from 1986 or any of the giants games from the past. please

  • @NYGiants869007 I agree. been a Giants fan since 1978 and I too missed those days especially 1986 season. That season was fun.

  • just the best time if you're a giants fan, period!!

  • this is what the giants are lacking now. a professional, hard working group that never gives up and wants it more then the other guy. Jim Burt is the shit hahahah.

  • madden and summerall just added so much more to this too. they were the best. hands down. any game they were doing was easy to watch.

  • right! Madden and Summerall didnt overtalk the action

  • I believe you guys beat us 3 times that year. Giants were just destined to win it all. We got ours the next year, though. :-)

  • @dcbandnerd I totally agree. And you know something, with Shanahan now, there was a time when the only two teams that mattered in the NFC were the Giants and the Redskins. Glory days are here again?.....

  • I pray that'll be the case. Seeing the Cowboys and the Eagles as the class of the division kills me inside.

  • They're only the "class" because the other two imploded this season. That's how I view it.

  • Around the 1:12 mark, you can see a very young and slim Romeo Crennel with Bill Parcells celebrating.

  • Around the 44 second mark, you can see a very young Bill Belichick getting the Gatorade shower with Harry Carson.

  • POST ENTIRE GAMES I BEG OF YOU

  • Typical Giant fan at 3:38. Schroeder looks about as out of it as any QB I've ever seen leaving a game on his own two feet. Switch Simms for Schroeder and the Redskins win by 10. Anyway, we got Jim Lachey from the Raiders for Schroeder, so at least he was good for SOMETHING... Unlike what the Skins have now.

  • Don't remind me of the fact that Schroeder was basically given away by Washington in return for All-Pro tackle Jim Lachey. Typical Al Davis move

  • LOL! Bill Belichick in red jacket (and of course grey hooded sweatshirt) with Harry Carson at 0:44.

  • My favorite statement about Schroeder "he took a tremendous hammering by the Giants defense all day today" by Summerall, funny shit. Go Gmen!!!!

  • Anybody know the name of the song playing in the stadium, at the start of the video

  • I still remember watching this game. God, it was horrible. I hated the Giants and the Eagles worse than the Cowboys in the mid to late 80's. Parcells and Buddy Ryan were fat slobs who loved to scratch their sack when the camera was on them. Jeez! You never saw Coach Gibbs scratch his balls or spit on TV. Class act.

  • 1960.... enough said...

  • no superbowls no talk faggot

  • ill leave you with this philly trash.. win a super bowl.. goodbye

  • Seriously, the rest of the NFC East has combined for 11 Sb rings but philly can't contribute.

  • @Speegs23

If it ever happens , (a big if) would you be happy if they made it 12 rings

  • lol your still tlaking shit pal. if only i could find a way to block oy

  • Are you capable of a complete sentence?

  • @interstate84man1 and once again did nothing with it....1960

  • @interstate84man1 Giants: undefeated in NFC championship games.

Eagles: lost to the ARIZONA CARDINALS.

  • I am a Browns fan and with the painful loss to the Broncos in "The Drive," earlier that day. The Giants winning this game and then S.B. XXI made me feel a bit better, though it would've been interesting with a Browns-Giants S.B. matchup if it did happen.

  • old school matchup would have been nice if it wasn't for horseface

  • i love conference championship games...more then the super bowl and i'm a steelers fan. i just seen my team win 2 super bowls in 4 years and the afc games meant more

  • you know what bro? im a giant fan and i might have to agree with you especially the year we lost to baltimore we CREAMED the vikes!!

and norcosfunnies that would be an intriguing super bowl but the browns will never get there

  • That game with the Vikings never happened... it was all a bad dream, lol (I am a Vikigns fan)

  • Jay Schroder wouldn't get the chance next season either, Doug Williams led the Redskins to the Super Bowl title...and left him on the sidelines watching.

  • The Redskins wouldn't have made the playoffs if not for Schroeder and George Rogers. Then they were screwed over in favor of Williams and Timmy Smith.

  • Both were effectively one game wonders, particularly Smith although Williams had been solid in Tampa many years earlier.

Schroeder went on to the raiders and lst the 1990 AFC Championship 51-3.

I don't know what became of Rogers but hey I was five at the time and I'm a Cowboy fan so its impressive i know this much about the 80s.

  • Damn, what an incredible celebration. You just don't see this type of celebration anymore. Atmospheres seem so dead these days. And I am talking all sports. except NCAA, fans go nuts there.

  • No, the atmosphere in sports is still great today, if you would actually give it a chance...NFL, NHL, NCAA, it's still exciting even today.

  • Schroeder didn't know what hit him in the '86 NFC Championship game! The Giants beat the Redskins 3 X that yr.

I give the Giants props for '86 and I'm a 49ers fan diehard.

I know Giants fans don't remind me of the game the week before this one against the Redskins.

  • Okay, the Gatorade shower started in 1986, and it should have ended in 1986. When they did they stop carrying the coaches on the players shoulders.

  • The Gatorade shower started before 86, carrying the coaches on the shoulder probably started in the 60s or 70s

  • I swear it was Harry Carson who started it with the Giants in 86.

  • Nope. Watch the 1985 vids on Gmen v. 49ers. They did it then. Carson started it, tho

  • In the wildcard game? That's good to know, now it's the seriously the most annoying sports trend ever to watch, it was lame in 85/86 and it's fucking dumb now.

  • What can I say? Your name says it all.

  • We can't compare the '07 Giants to the '86 Giants. It's apples and oranges because the Giants were expected to win in 1986, at least from the standpoint of how they started and dominated teams. No one expected the 2007 Giants to go anywhere, least of all on a 4-game sack and pillage tour away from the Meadowlands during the Playoffs.

  • 2 different types of teams you cant compare them

  • The best times, not like todays team sorry you will never top this year never

  • This just gives you chills if you remember it...Jim Burt hangin with the fans...Unbelievable!...Poor Jay Schroeder...

  • Yeah. Schroeder never really got over this one, IMHO.
