I think that you would see a big improvement in your playing if you worked on right hand technique with a specific focus on scale development.
I noticed that you are playing scales with just your index finger and not alternating your index with the middle fingers (im). It looks like you using a right lute technique for this music - (index under thumb) and not using your middle finger at all.
Previous post should have read "right hand lute technique".
The only way to play the scale passages quickly and smoothly is with descending and ascending ligados (pull-offs and hammer- ons). And ligados require the cooperation of the index finger working in conjunction with either the middle or anular (ring) finger.
In fact, the fastest scales are played with all three fingers (ima) working as a unit .
As you know, Mudarras pieces are rife with fast scale passages linking chordal groups. Thats one of the hallmarks of the music of this period along with the increasing use of ornamentation (trills & mordents) as the vihuelas of the renaissance gave way to baroque guitars. I think that Guereaus version of Canarios, is an extreme example of the use of descending and descending in a piece.
@HappyRick thanks for the advice rick, I have been trying to work at the right hand a lot. I haven't had a lot of playing time available for me the past couple years but I hope to get some more videos out this coming year.
