My current dog came from a shelter, that being said I can't stress the point on how great selective purebred dog breeding can truly be. The thing is that shelter dogs can often come from lines of bad breeding and because of that (in time) dogs lose many of their positive personality and phsyical attributes; this can even lead to a dog's breeding line leading to agressive behaviors over time.
now, the majority of shelter dogs are totally "awesome." I mean, dogs in general are just so amazing.

Compassionate people don't go to breeders for puppies they go to animal shelters instead.
