woo hoo - NO TIES! - desperately trying remember what song this appeared in - and just stumbled across it now - reminds me of 6th form (are you watching, Tony Tiganis?)
I feel i have discovered a little time machine taking me back to my miserable sad-arsed teens ---but thank god there was great music back then. And a million thanks to the bloke or sheila who posts all this stuff `nzoz` . I saw Billy and his Ferrets at the tom flood sports centre in bendigo in '77. It's gonna be a long night watching all these.........
I'm a bloke! And yes, I'd say most of you and many others were very lucky to have a great soundtrack, inspite having to go through those tricky teen years. Hmmm... I can't quite say the same about my teen years in the 1990's.
Sorry Ferrets, I did fall in love (well a schoolboy crush anyway) with the backup singers when they played for the Dandenong High School formal in 1977. OMG am I getting old or what?
I did not know Tony Cohen assisted! That's a surprise!
Then again, Bill Miller is mates with Dave Graney and I do believe Tony worked with Dave's band The Moodists? I don't know, I'm sure there's some connection there...
The 60's, the mid to the latter part always seemed to me to have been a great time to have been a teenager. But having been a teenager in the 70's, looking back they were a pretty good time as well despite the usual dross ever present on commercial radio in any era!
@nzoz1977 - Tony Cohen . . . ultimate knob twiddler on so many geat Oz/Nz recordings yet he receives no recognition !!! A truly brilliant set of ears !!
@oldredun i know, he's brilliant... great work... molly gets more recognition as a producer than Tony.. why? just coz Molly did the Real Thing in 1969 and I LIke It Both Ways in 1976 (coincidently, Tony twiddled that one too
@nzoz1977 . . . mate, he could pull the best live sounds as well . . . when he was in good nick, te he he . . . he used to work with Spencer P and the Johnny's and their ilk frequently . . . mind you,, Molly gets his gong well and truly for the Real thing alone . . . just met Miss Beepollen . . . good kid for a young seppo !! . . . make that a gorgeous young seppo, check out Dexter Pendleton's Trainwreck "Last Chance" if you can . . just me as an ageing punk showing my white trash influence !!
@nzoz1977 . . . .cheers nzoz, just old blokes havin fun !! Met the Beepollen groover on your "Tear It All Away" post. . . . the gorgeous, well intended creature thought I was a troll and had actually fired off a warning to you until I pointed her gently toward reality !!!! I reckon she "likes" the nzoz mate . . . look out !!!
Tragic how much of our culture just gets thrown away. Thanks for posting what you did, much appreciated trip down memory lane. Dreams of a Love was the best Australian LP of the decade
I don't suppose the bloke who's posting these can find the countdown end-of-year special featuring the Ferrets - they played their classic "Just like the stars" complete with choir
I don't think I could because most Countdown episodes cease to exist... this episode is saved by somebody recorded it on their VCR (or maybe, BETA) when the show was aired. The original master no longer exists.

Hello anyone from the Ferrets band, do any of you know how to contact Ken Firth, I have something of his and he may appreciate it...cheers
