DO YOU KNOW..i first went to see the lads back in 82 when i was ten thanks to my bro mike and his missus jules..it was then the best night of my life and always will be, why? Because this is my fave band ever.. i seen them go thru line up after line up. No band members been "better" than 1 another, they are just a little different in style..even Mark and Mike are different.. i love Pete`s attack and natural sustain, great chemistry they are really enjoying the old stuff..specially Mark n Mike!!
What`s Pete Biggin doing at 0:53 - picking his nose, scrathching his upper cheek, or telling the crew his dismay of something? "Fix it now, or I`ll throw buggers at you!" ;)
Would love to hear this track played live with a Jaydee again. Mark's style has definitely changed through the years and on this track is more staccato than the fluid style in the 80's. (IMHO). Nonetheless this track shows immense musicianship by all of the band.
What a great show it was. I was there and I'm the one ruining the video (well the DVD I must say), jumping near the front row during ALL the show ... you can't miss me you've got a clear view of my face at 8:50 still jumping ;) maybe some of you have known me as 'The Bouncing Man'. Really looking forward to seeing those guys live again and to meet you all ;)
@jonannlou You are right of course by album date but it was written in 1980 but technically you are right well spotted sir,how is the Status by the way.
@Ry42Back was it? Damn didn't know that! Wish I still had my Status mate, miss it like mad. Now have a Hohner which is actually doing a pretty good job for the money, but its not a Status!! I'll hopefully get another soon or a Jaydee........ In the long distant future!
@jonannlou Whatever you are playing my friend i am sure you are making it sound the bollocks as you have with all the basses in your vids, just keep on funking bro the planet needs guys like you!!
@Ry42Back cheers mate, i did a cover of the POA from the bass show and the bass sounded pretty good, so I am pleased with it for its price! Thanks for the compliment, MK is my bass hero and its his style I play like the most. I was in L42 before I had even picked up a bass and Mark's style just seems the most natural compared to alot of the other 'big' players. Coming from drums to the bass leads you to Marks style, well it does for me anyway!
Couldn't agree with you more. Phil Gould has amazing technique and style. I love listening to the live recordings to hear how he gives it that little extra, but not too much. I'd love to see the original line up, including Boon. Great musicians all!
Really love this! I love the new drummer - for some reason, even though Gary Husband was a talented drummer, I just didn't like him. I found him a bit cheesy. I love the new guy, though.
True, Husband didn't have the groove this guy has, but this guy is way too busy. Gary Husband knew when to shut up. Perfect drummer is still Phil Gould.
