  • ok hear me out. Instead of the carbon tax, how about we tax the Greens for their stupid ideas?

  • What a shit advert.

  • i'd rather be in bed with coal industry than be a party associated with this poorly produced and poorly edited attempt at a political advetisement! i hope this one didn't make it to TV... embarassing ad! good idea just pooor execution.

  • Rudd's a dud and you Greens are doing everything in your capacity to make sure Labor comes back to power by giving your preferences to Labor. Even if Greens get BOP in Senate still there wont be any carbon Tax because that will destroy Gillard in POLLS & Labor Right will get rid of her.

  • well...he did seem slightly more keen on Howard so that's a start. I heard that someone in Labor up here in QLD turned to the Greens though because he didn't think the Labor government of QLD was doing enough on climate change. What was his name...Ronan Lee, that was it. why not get in touch with him?

  • I wonder if Rudd is still asleep on climate change? I haven't been paying attention to politics recently, last time I heard, all that was reported was him swearing on tv, making a flight attendant cry, and something about a summit

  • Yes he is. Rudd set a joke of a 5% target for reducing emissions, and he's giving massive (billions) in subsidies to the coal industry.

Rudd's a dud when it comes to climate change

  • RUDD'S A DUDD

  • Half the world is taking big steps to fight climate change, why are we not doing our bit or "Cleaning up our own backyard" so-to-speak...

  • Is there any third party organization which support the personal sue of aboriginals toward Aus gov.?

  • Amid harsh criticism from businesses, private consumers and government ally the Danish People's Party, Kristian Jensen, the tax minister, openly admitted that the greenhouse gas levy was a source of income for the state and no longer an environmental measure.

  • "In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book 'The First Global Revolution'

  • Try this one:

  • thats legal right?

  • Even if you vote for The Greens, your vote will still go to either the Liberal Party or The Labour Party depending on who you put as a higher preference because The Greens don't have enough support to be in power.

  • Not if you turn up to vote in a marginal seat. When you lie and tell em you've recently moved there and haven't updated your electoral details yet, they take your word for it.

  • the Greens vote will NEVER go to the Liberal party, they have never preferenced them! this ad just proves their friends with the Labor party!

  • We may never have a Green PM but as long as the Greens have the balance of power in the senate then we the people will have a voice. The Greens will NEVER bow down to the corrupt ever increasing polluting industries that line the pockets of major leaders around the world. Had the Greens held the balance of power in the senate now there is NO-WAY Gunns would've got the go ahead to rape the Tamar Valley. Dont waste your vote this election, vote 1 Greens in the senate, and have your voice heard.

  • Well I know Rudd isnt perfect, but I hope that more Greens support doesnt throw off the Labor votes, as they are THE opposition party, the chance against very right wing Liberals.

  • Every Liberal and Labor Government has failed and has had to be voted out. Yet, people continue to vote for them. Isn't insainity repeating the same mistakes and expecting a different result? I'll be voting Green, because the first step to finding the solution is to not be part of the problem.

  • mate, only labor governments have failed... if you vote Labor/Unions, you will get the same result that you did a decade ago. Dont be stupid australia, vote liberal and keep your country wealthy.

  • vote labour. if our pm is going to be in bed with a superpower. make it rudd and china. they've got the largest standing army in the world and they need all our coal. plus you know. liberal is right wing. so is fascism

  • thats just stupid

    labor is left wing

    so is communism

you are looking at two extremes which is just plain idiocy.

last 2 labor governments have screwed up our economy. rudd fucked over queensland in the goss government. how long b4 he makes more stupid decisions?

  • yeah i know its idiocy i was being sarcastic equating liberals with nazis. i was more making a point to all those idiots who say "labour is communism!!". the people who think that labour is the equivalent of full blown karl marx communism

  • @liber8me seriously buddy don't be such a child with your pathetic baseless claims that the labor part or any that is left (labor is centre-left anyway dickface) are commies...the liberal party must be akin to facist and right-wing dictatorships are they not ??They are right-wing and are full of hate and greed probably such as your self!! You are a liar

  • so crap

  • Vote Gindelbi! Coz I'm your president ob Australia! DE END!

  • fukin green fags, why the fuck are they putting money into an add when they know they will never win an election. Rudd is awesome, howard cares as much for Australia as a cow cares where it shits.

  • Brilliant. Rudd also in bed with the loggers. Look what happpened with the PULP Mill. This time I voting for the greens in Bennelong. I can chuck Howard out by voting 1 greens and 2 Maxine. Maybe this will wake up Labour that we do care about the environment, maybe they will take the gag off Garrett.

  • You're lucky you are in a semi marginal. We are in O'Connor. Tuckey country through and through. Labor has no chance, so have given us a young bloke; blooding I think they call it. If there is a Greens candidate (country

WA ha ha), they will get my first vote, followed by labor. Tuckey is a downright WA**ER. He'll keep his seat here though. Pure Lib and Nat territory, and the West Australian newspaper is a right wing rag.

  • Garret is an extremist fool with no concept of realism. Vote libs

  • Is that the same Bob Brown who offered to help Howard to privitise Telstra 3 years ago? The same Brown who made deals with Liberals in Victorian and NSW state elections? The same Brown who made deal with Paulin Hanson to get their preferences in 2001 election. Very trustfull bloke indeed!!!

  • Is this the same mark2060 who makes up stuff about preference deals? The Greens almost always preference Labor before Coalition. And they'd certainly never preference Hanson! It is Labor that preferences the right wing religious party Family First.

  • We are destroying the world and it makes no difference if we are supporters of Labour, Liberals or the Greens. Our presence and breedign is destroying the planet and none of these parties have acknowledged this because naturally, they are interested in votes not truth. I vote the possum party

  • Howard lead us unwillingly into the gulf war2 and Rudd appears to me to be like a used car salesman who begs to polish our shoes yet really wants to steal them. .

  • Senator Bob Brown is a godsend to the environment and politics in Australia. Rudd is an egomanic who loves the camera above all else and Howard just started the nuclear industry in Aus. These two are clueless.

  • You would think these doby greens would try to be a bit more original, instead of copying Labor's TV comercials

  • Hey Kevin Rudd... I love STRIPPERS too! ...and being DRUNK!

  • Hear hear! Vote Green! We need more representation!

  • All this talk about the Greens not being corrupt; you may be in for a surprise. They are as bad as the others, they just have a different agenda.

  • Corruption is fuelled by the selfishness of personal gain, such as personal gains offered by the fossil-fuel industries and large corporations. Environmental concerns and activism are the most selfless of any. There can be no other motive other than altruism. I would agree that the Greens have a different agenda from mainstream politicians, and thank god for that.

  • Whether the environmental movement has altruistic intentions is irrelevant when it comes down to the Greens Party. I have a friend whose experience with the Greens makes me see them as hypocrites who are willing to lie as the next politican to try and get ahead. They are just use a very impotrant and emotional topic to hide it.

  • Of course, it's always possible that hypocrisy and power hunger can exist in individuals. It's also possible your friend formed an opinion based on he/she being part of the equation. In any case, the Green ethos including its social conscience, humanitarianism and the politics of sustainability appeal to me. Contrast that with insatiable greed and the psychopathic nature of corporations benefiting a few individuals at the expense of just about everything.

  • "In searching for a new enemy to unite us we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill." -- Club of Rome members Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider in their book 'The First Global Revolution'.

  • Communism served as the vector for fear since the end of WW2. The demise of communism necessitated a search for a new "ism". Today, terrorism is the new fear vector. Fear and hysteria is whipped up while the pillars of democracy are being white-anted by the likes of Howard and the Bush administration, ostensibly, in the name of national security. Conversely, environmental concerns are serious and tangible.

  • Great video! Go the Greens! Rudd and Howard in bed together with the coal industry - funny cause it's true - they've got no real solutions to climate change. We need big renewable investment, instead we're getting more coal and nuclear. It's corrupt and we need the Greens in there to stop the corruption and start the solutions.

  • Gr8 Vid! It is about time we wake up and realise we need to keep the ALP and Kevin Dudd honest. A lot more diversity in political views would help, but the key is: whose interests are you looking after? Always follow the money!

  • Kevin Rudd is taking the green/left vote for granted. Unfortunately, the ALP have no cred when it comes to environmental issues. How can they be concerned about global warming when they support more logging of tasmanian forests? Claim to be anti-nuclear while being pro-uranium mining. It just doesn't make sense -- who do they think they are fooling? The Greens have my vote.

  • I agree with the logging of tasmanian forests, although forests can be replaced and new trees absorb more CO2 than old ones. Re nuclear: How can you be anti-coal yet use electricity in Australia? I'm anti-nuclear power (since high grade Uranium is very limited and then milling/refining is too energy intensive), but I do not trust the Greens to be practical about this issue.

  • This right here is a perfect reason as to why the greens will NEVER be in any position to govern our incredible country! they are incredibly stupid

  • C'mon, what do ya mean, mate? explain yourself!

The video is certainly not stupid, it's pretty funny!

  • The Greens for senate control.... force the lower house to act on global warming

  • Not to forget this classic rip of Peter Garrett also on YouTube - The Chaser's 'Backflips of the Greens'

  • Well done Greens. The policies of the Liberal and Labor Parties are drifting closer to each other and I'm glad the Greens are smart enough to realise this. On all the important issues Labor has agreed with the Libs - Coal Mining, Carbon Emissions, Deforestation of old growth forests, the deportation of Dr. Haneef and countless other points. Its a sad state of affairs and while I am glad to see Howard going(hopefully) I know its just a change of figurehead. Still, a great video - 5 Stars from me.

  • I think Rudd cares more about keeping coal industry/unions happy than he ever did about climate change. Same for Howard. Anyone who supports rainforest and original forest for woodchips in Tasmania has lost the plot. Now Howard is all green over the Murray. Hysterical really.

  • My information is that the ALP and Liberal party have the same short term targets which are to equal 2000 emissions levels by 2030. There theory is they'll increase almost Business as usual until 2020, then Clean Coal (pipe dream) will come online in 2020 and we'll see a reduction in the energy sector by 2030 back to 2000 levels. This is an embarassment given the UK are going 30% reduction by 2020 10 years ahead of the ALPs goal

  • YAY for the Greens. Rudd is hust Howard in sheeps clothing.

  • Labor is in the process of approving 22 new coal mines in NSW alone. Neither major party has questioned the $10 billion in subsidies that go to fossil fuel related industries. Labor talks climate change but they are cynical deceivers. Look at John Watkins criticising plans for an inland freight rail link. They need to be attacked on it.

  • Should the Greens be silent on the failings of Labor's policy just because Howard is worse? No.

The Greens are the only ones that can be trusted on the climate.

By all means lets get Howard out (which means Rudd in) but only by voting 1 Green can we hope for the best policy on the climate from a new government.

  • sound?

  • As a Greens member I think this video is misleading and disturbing. Are we trying to help the Howard government? Who has really been asleep on climate change? Certainly not the Labor Party.

  • Friend you sound more like a Labor member then a Greens member. Clearly the ad is saying Howard is no good on climate change, it starts with the first line of the Labor ad Howard has been asleep on climate change. We all think Howard needs to go but Labor's policy has big problems. They won't tackle the coal industry, they support new coal mines and power stations and they won't set short term emission targets.

  • The notion of Honest John and Krudd in bed together seems entirely natural to me. Look at poor Tasmanian to understand what the Liblab Coalition is really all about. In our unhappy State, more than anywhere else, it is obvious that there is utterly no difference between the Liberals and Labor. It is absolutely clear that the only real alternative to the Liblabs, for those of us who care about progressive policies, is the Greens. It is time we faced this fact and stopped flirting with either mob.

  • Like they say in South America: Mierda y CACA! (Poo & Shit!)

Or the aussie equivalent: same shit different smell!

But maaan, don't we need a lot more political diversity here in Oz! VOTE GREEN IN THE SENATE!
