@fhrope my first 5 hours of tanks was with guided shell, but now after 60 hours tank, and 6k kills i cannot understand how i possiply can use guided shell, 65% of all my kills is made with canister shell, even on air vehicles i feel like it is stronger
but about the third seat i prefer only to have pilot and gunner then the pilot use thermal and the gunner use smoke and guided shell, why i dont like a third guy is because the gunner and pilot is switching seats alot

@temetski91 proximity scan is useless to me- i thought it was like a short range motion senser but there's another unlock that does that and when i have proximity scan i can't see a difference between that and having nothing. what does it actually do?
Your vehicle basically becomes a motion sensor. Any hostile soldiers close to the vehicle show on your and your teammates minimap as red arrows so they become spotted, and it doesn't matter if they are prone or don't move, they will show on minimap. This means you'll be near impossible to be flanked by enemies using support. As normally it'd be real hard to see them coming, since they tend to sprint towards you from behind, place C4, and that's it then.

i'm playing in ps3, and unfortunately the guided shell+soflam combo doesn't work as well as on PC. if your target moving at speeds exceeding 20-30mph, the guided shell won't be able to follow the correct trajectory. they always miss their target.
i never bother with Reactive Armour. Id rather have the quicker reload time over it as i normally have an engineer with me in the gunner or if fighting other vehicles always show my front armour. (Which not alot of people actually do then they whine and call you a cheater when you kill them after they got the first shot :P )
1:55 You don't have to wait until the helicopter drops his flares because those work only on heat seekers... guided shell doesn't give a shit about flares ;)
Quickest way I think is capping objectives and killing on the way to the objectives..Im Service Star 14 in the Tanks my favorite thing in the game..I go with Thermal and Canister Shell myself
Boy that CIV Station, on Caspian, roaming the hills directly behind Antenna...absolutely decimates the opposing air forces. I think me and Parabolst got like 18 chopper kills alone in a 600 tix server once.

@hoosfred You can only utilize the third seat if you personally have it unlocked. So if the driver himself has it unlocked, someone else who is in the tank will not be able to access it if they haven't achieved that high of a level in a tank yet.

And if a beginner (hardly any unlocks) is in a tank, and I walk up to it, it'll give him CIV so I can get in. The problem with CIV is it takes 2 locks to fire: CIV, then gunner. Should be one lock, fire. Slow reload rate is already balance enough.

I just had a round where I primarily sat in the 3rd seat, lazing choppers and jets for 2 tanks using the guided shells. Both drivers walked away with 45+ kills, and 2 or 3 deaths. I went 2-0, but still managed to rack up over 7k points from just lazing. Most times the choppers were just starting to engage our chopper when BAM knocked out of the sky.... tooo much fun for me, watching them drop like flies ... :P

When you're customizing your soldier, there are tabs up at the top of the screen. One is your soldier, one is air, and the other is land. click, use the triggers/ bumpers to get to them
People keep asking him what level he is on. Once you get to level 45 (corporal), the next level isn't 46, it's corporal level 1,2,3, etc. It shows with the eagle icon

That 3rd seat is friggin bad ass, I could really use some good engie buddies, I always get F*ked up in tanks, usually from jets or jackasses with javelins or whaetever, almost never get blown up by C4 though, I like using proximity scan. @MehrunesDrakor See at the top is shows Deploy/Squad and Customize. Well click on the customize and then Land and there you will be able to select what upgrades you want for tanks, and Air for helicopters/jets
@MehrunesDrakor It's ok bro these are often asked, because it seems people do not know quite how to customize their kits/vehicles.
there are several ways. 1) When you are at the spawn menu, by either dying, or simply by joining a game, there will be an option that says something like "customize" you press whatever button it is (X for xbox) and it'll take you to the screen, where you can customize characters & vehicles.
OUTSIDE of the game you go to "My Soldier" and then you do the same thing.
The problem with the CITV is that it is not "stabilized" so when the driver hits some bumps it's kind of disorienting if you had your zoom on and you tend to lose your lock on.
@Jammerious I do agree, it's somewhat of a pain when you're hitting bumps. all you have to do is stop real quick to get those air targets. Sloishbob is pro now :P

@x7VenGeaNcE7x IR smoke is actually really good, because it can prevent jets from locking on, as well as enemies with javelins. Also, it allows you to get away from other tanks as well, just pop smoke & haul ass out of there, works great.
However, I DO prefer zoom, not so much the thermal, It hurts my eyes to be honest, but the zoome is where it's at, I even once got a 250m headshot using zoom, it was on Kharg Island, he was on a construction building, I was back near spawn, friggin epic.

@AfricanRooster The final unlock for tanks is a third seat. CITV seat. So instead of Driver and Gunner seats, You can now have Driver, Gunner and CITV seats. The CITV seat is basically a 3rd seat that acts like a SOFLAM so you can use it to paint targets. Makes the Guided Shell on the tank quite powerful against stuff like attack choppers.
@AfricanRooster The last unlock for the tank is the "CITV Station" which is a 3rd seat in your tank. People in the 3rd seat can spot enemy units and laser designate vehicles for Javelins and Guided Missiles.
Agreed that's the best anti-aircraft set-up in the game. But more the majority of my time in the tank, there's no-one in the third seat. Furthermore most of the action I get into with the tank is anti-tank, and anti-infantry so I run: Autoloader, Zoomed Optics and Canister shot.
@DaBoff99 Canister is cool and all but you can't hurt tanks with it at all, the guided shell gives you that much more against the tanks. But it all depends on what you're going against. I just like to take down air with my tank to be honest lol
@MrTurdasaurus I think you unlock a 3rd seat in your tank that allows you to designate and lock on enemy vehicles (just like a SOFLAM) And if the tank driver has guided shell he can also lock on air vehicles.
@MrTurdasaurus CITV is a tank upgrade which adds a 3rd postion to the tank and works just like a soflam you can lock on any enemy vehicles including enemy Mavs and Soflams. Guided missiles will lock onto ground vehicles but the damage is much higher if a soflam or CITV is locked on.

That 3rd seat is friggin bad ass, I could really use some good engie buddies, I always get F*ked up in tanks, usually from jets or jackasses with javelins or whaetever, almost never get blown up by C4 though, I like using proximity scan. But yeah I'd love to get that 3rd seat, and hell, i wouldnt even mind sitting in it the whole game just calling stuff out.

@MehrunesDrakor See at the top is shows Deploy/Squad and Customize. Well click on the customize and then Land and there you will be able to select what upgrades you want for tanks, and Air for helicopters/jets

@MehrunesDrakor It's ok bro these are often asked, because it seems people do not know quite how to customize their kits/vehicles.
there are several ways. 1) When you are at the spawn menu, by either dying, or simply by joining a game, there will be an option that says something like "customize" you press whatever button it is (X for xbox) and it'll take you to the screen, where you can customize characters & vehicles.
OUTSIDE of the game you go to "My Soldier" and then you do the same thing.

The problem with the CITV is that it is not "stabilized" so when the driver hits some bumps it's kind of disorienting if you had your zoom on and you tend to lose your lock on.

@Jammerious I do agree, it's somewhat of a pain when you're hitting bumps. all you have to do is stop real quick to get those air targets. Sloishbob is pro now :P

@fhrope Im quite intreged as to why you chose IR Smoke instead of zoom or thermal optics, ive spend 400+ hours in a tank pretty much literally spent entire game time in them and i consider myself to be damn good in tank just dont understand your reason to choose IR smoke over the added optics, just personal preference or you feel it improves your play ? lemme know im intrigued :] and an fyi i play on console (360) and i always jump in CITV station for people >.<

@x7VenGeaNcE7x Maybe it's on console. But I always play at least 32 man servers if not more. So there is constantly people harassing me. That's why I prefer it. Plus the zoom optics isn't that great. I can do just as good without the zoom

@x7VenGeaNcE7x IR smoke is actually really good, because it can prevent jets from locking on, as well as enemies with javelins. Also, it allows you to get away from other tanks as well, just pop smoke & haul ass out of there, works great.
However, I DO prefer zoom, not so much the thermal, It hurts my eyes to be honest, but the zoome is where it's at, I even once got a 250m headshot using zoom, it was on Kharg Island, he was on a construction building, I was back near spawn, friggin epic.

@Evilhen88 But the thing is, on console very few people actually ahve the 3rd seat unlocked, remember to be able to use the 3rd seat, the driver AND the guy thats in the 3rd seat have to have the 3rd seat unlocked

@AfricanRooster The final unlock for tanks is a third seat. CITV seat. So instead of Driver and Gunner seats, You can now have Driver, Gunner and CITV seats. The CITV seat is basically a 3rd seat that acts like a SOFLAM so you can use it to paint targets. Makes the Guided Shell on the tank quite powerful against stuff like attack choppers.

@AfricanRooster The last unlock for the tank is the "CITV Station" which is a 3rd seat in your tank. People in the 3rd seat can spot enemy units and laser designate vehicles for Javelins and Guided Missiles.

Agreed that's the best anti-aircraft set-up in the game. But more the majority of my time in the tank, there's no-one in the third seat. Furthermore most of the action I get into with the tank is anti-tank, and anti-infantry so I run: Autoloader, Zoomed Optics and Canister shot.

@DaBoff99 Canister is cool and all but you can't hurt tanks with it at all, the guided shell gives you that much more against the tanks. But it all depends on what you're going against. I just like to take down air with my tank to be honest lol

@MrTurdasaurus I think you unlock a 3rd seat in your tank that allows you to designate and lock on enemy vehicles (just like a SOFLAM) And if the tank driver has guided shell he can also lock on air vehicles.

@MrTurdasaurus CITV is a tank upgrade which adds a 3rd postion to the tank and works just like a soflam you can lock on any enemy vehicles including enemy Mavs and Soflams. Guided missiles will lock onto ground vehicles but the damage is much higher if a soflam or CITV is locked on.
