  • What a terrible film. Full of anti-british hatred. Trust an englishman to make this film. We must be the most self-loathing nation in the world!

  • amazing amazing film, so sad!

  • Beautiful movie! Have seen it yesterday in cinema.

  • Tiocfaidh ar la!

  • Thanx for posting this. A great reminder to see such a good film and to not forget those that came before us and what they went through.

  • a powerful film.

  • We watched this in a class of mine... all I got from it was violence & the fact that Cillian Murphy's quite good looking lol

  • Love this film it really is amazing and also i think Cillian Murphy is an amazing actor plus i fancy the pants off him...

  • On a scale of 1-10, how violent is this movie? (10 being most violent) OR you could compare it to the Michael Collins movie if you've seen it.

  • You should watch "Bloody Sunday" another powerful movie.

  • really interesting take on what went on in this period of Irish history, also loved the cinematography, such incredible green textures of images! wonderful stuff.

  • wonderful film, being of Irish ancestry on both sides of my famly , i heard many stories, now I understand them.

  • 1923 my grandfather put up w/ those English Black & Tan Bastards RIP JAMES

  • rock on man, my grandma say our family was made up of rebels and ira, i'm proud to carry the name Duggan

  • the greatest irish film made on the civil war...ever!!

    gewon d RA!

  • Do you know of any other movies on the Irish Civil war? Or even Easter Rising for that matter! It would be great if you could tell me! I already know about the movie Michael Collins, Excellent movie!

  • The Treaty was a pretty popular one. Michael Collins is very historically incorrect in some parts but i agree, its a good movie. Another recent one isn't about the war but the troubles in the north more so, it's called Hunger. Very gruesome and not pleasant but fantastic all the same. This one would definitely be my favorite though.

  • Thank you very much!

  • watch when the English are leaving and the lads are ''seeing them off'' in the village. ''One way ticket now lads.safe journey and god bless. shut up paddy. and I'll see you in hell''. Deadly. Best part of movie. The Dub is my hero. Any one know what other movies he's in.

    remember the quote

'they send a tyrany we match it with our own'

the cira is finishing the job that the english started..

we'll never have piece.. how can they justifie owning foreign lands... they cant in todays society..

    imperialism is not viable

  • The CIRA are not the same as the rebels in 1916.If they were wheres the Brotherhood,Griffith wanted a dual monarchy..hows that the same?

  • Cillian Murphy's Irlenad finest actor at the moment, both domestically and in Hollywood. Never mind Colin 'Bleedin' Farrell.
