really interesting take on what went on in this period of Irish history, also loved the cinematography, such incredible green textures of images! wonderful stuff.
Do you know of any other movies on the Irish Civil war? Or even Easter Rising for that matter! It would be great if you could tell me! I already know about the movie Michael Collins, Excellent movie!
The Treaty was a pretty popular one. Michael Collins is very historically incorrect in some parts but i agree, its a good movie. Another recent one isn't about the war but the troubles in the north more so, it's called Hunger. Very gruesome and not pleasant but fantastic all the same. This one would definitely be my favorite though.
watch when the English are leaving and the lads are ''seeing them off'' in the village. ''One way ticket now lads.safe journey and god bless. shut up paddy. and I'll see you in hell''. Deadly. Best part of movie. The Dub is my hero. Any one know what other movies he's in.
What a terrible film. Full of anti-british hatred. Trust an englishman to make this film. We must be the most self-loathing nation in the world!

Thanx for posting this. A great reminder to see such a good film and to not forget those that came before us and what they went through.

On a scale of 1-10, how violent is this movie? (10 being most violent) OR you could compare it to the Michael Collins movie if you've seen it.

Cillian Murphy's Irlenad finest actor at the moment, both domestically and in Hollywood. Never mind Colin 'Bleedin' Farrell.
