  • I appreciate all of your bush wisdom, but regarding being evolved from apes 13:45 I wholeheartedly disagree, more than that, I believe that this mistaken conjecture puts into question matters of eternity. God has created the universe and all creatures. It is a blessing to be able to 'have dominion' over the bush, it is our God given right as the pinnacle of His creation. I pray that you may come to appreciate God and the gifts in His creation He has placed under our governance. Cordially Nathan

  • very well explained lots of good valuable info

  • Thanks for the part about putting the knife in the sheath when not in use. I cringe every time I see these guys on YouTube slam their knife point into a log and leave it there sticking up. My main problem, though, is, if I set the damn thing down, I'll lose it :)

  • you must have some pretty badass waterproof boots, because your left food is in the stream through the vid

  • From what I have read, Mora's have a tiny secondary bevel. I saw an article on it at bushcraftstuff . com

  • @dabrownone - because they say that the knives are no longer used just as carving knives but are now used for outdoors skills too ....... go figure?? But its a easy matter to sharpen the secondary bevel out - if someone lacks the fundamental skills to do that then really they should not be playing with cutting tools anyway.

  • As any good cutler will tell you you should always sharpen a knife from new, before first using it to ensure you remove and wire left on the edge during the manufacture so all told if your gonna sharpen it anyway its not great sweat

  • Is that a compliment or a insult lol .......thanks Medmanthe brave!

  • if ricky gervais met dave canterbury in the woods and managed to concieve a child. it would grow up to look like this survival guy

  • HAHA yeah, my maths are terrible too, but at least i can count! :) just stirring mate, good vid, keep it up.

  • Many thanks - my aim is to produce a series of video's to offer people a virtual version of the average basic bushcraft course so I am glad you think these initial vidoes are steps in the right direction. Personally I'd love to add more footage but time and size limit what can be covered.

Will hopefully be adding a few more vid's soon.

  • Hi there. Just finished watching your 2 part series and I must say it was absolutely spot-on. Very comprehensive and informative from a knowledgeable and articulate presenter. Made a refreshing change from some of the drivel on You tube. The level of information may be lost/not appreciated by some but hopefully these will be in a minority. Your other vids also make great viewing. Very impressed indeed. However, need to practice more with my firesteel to light that dammed candle! Best, D

  • Thanks for this clear demo.
