  • Your "Juno" patch was great. I have the EX5 version, and would not sell it for money ;-)

I use the EX5 more than my OASYS......

  • j'ai un yamaha ex7 acquis il ya 3 ans je fais mon instrument de predilection

  • love my EX5 wonderful peace best synth ever

  • hello! this keyboard works with samples?

  • @cristiroland Hello, yes, the EX-5/7/R are also samplers and can load *.waw files as well.

  • @Najvrtson that means is a good keyboard...how old is this?:)

  • @cristiroland Yes, the EX-Series are excellent instruments. They were produced approx. between 1998 and 2001.

  • @Najvrtson they are quite old...but here in romania we need samples for our traditional music...we need cymbalon, accodrion and a lot of other instruments.in my country most of keyboards are arrangers mostly korg pa..in know we use motif and phatnom...i hope you understand my english and i am sorry if i were wrong somewhere:)

  • @Najvrtson Help!!!!! I want one of these so badly!!!! Where can I order one of these or stores I could find one?????

  • @audioproducer88 I afraid, it is too late to find it in any store, your only chance is to find one on Ebay. There is now one EX-5 in USA. Good luck!

  • I've owned an EX7 as my main synth for over 10 years now. They are so incredible that I sold it, bought a Motif ES, sold that after a few months and purchased another EX7. This is not the best workstation by any means. It's more of an unbelievable digital synth. The Yamaha AN engine is easily one of the grittiest analog simulations available. I will never sell this synth. It's greatest asset is it's unique soundscapes. Nothing else does the pads and odd sound effects that the EX can do.

  • @Astralwurksdk I want the EX7 so bad because it's like a late 90s version of the DX hahahaha and I could something like the EX7 so I can bring back that 90s electronic vibe with my tracks. You feel me? lol

  • I've had one of these for about 10 years -- great piece of kit. Not only a great synth, but an excellent MIDI controller too: velocity, aftertouch, 3 modwheels, ribbon controller and 6 knobs. Built like a tank too.

  • Some really excellent playing, thanks for sharing.

  • Does anyone have the demo disks for the Ex7? I've been looking for them for awhile and I can't find them anywhere! Maybe someone could rapidshare them?

  • @varisforge Don't know if you're still looking, but if you sign up at the ex5tech forum they have a member downloads page that has the EX7 demo disks, tutorials, sound patches, and all kinds of useful stuff.

  • Thank you for this excellent and most helpful demo it was fundamental in my deciscion to buy an EX7 and like earlier commentators I just made an excellent deal. To anyone thinking about this instrument - I cannot recommend it enough and though this is excellent video, no demo could give full justice to this instrument.

As an aside the sound named Juno should be renamed Jupiter :-) I have experience of both the orignal Juno and Jupiter synths and to my ears the Juno's can't sound that rich!

  • @stevepaine1965 Thank you so much! This instrument never stop to inspire, and I'm glad to see other people with the same point of view. Enjoy your music!

  • @stevepaine1965 You can actually make a Juno 106 sound as rich, turning on the PWM, noise, sub-osc, and chorus 2, as in the last minute of my Juno 106 video here somewhere on YouTube. ;-)

  • @trevor001 i dunno. i hesitate to think that you cant make a juno 106 sound more substantial than this. even patches with the chorus disabled will have more to them imo. still a cool instrument, but its not an analog polysynth.

  • Nice Demo! If you like the EX7 you would love the EX5. It's an EX7 w/ about %25 more capabilities. Please note, programming-wise the EX series is not for the beginner, as I was when I got my EX5 in 1999. However, it will reward your patience in learning the programming with one of the best synth engines ever built. The sequencer is crap though.

  • @vkeith2112 who needs the internal sequencer if you have logic or another similar application

  • @RealityDetective I'm not sure, but I think internal sequencers are probably more appropriate for live performance. I know Ableton Live is used for that, but a lot of people can't stand the idea of gigging with a laptop.

  • This is the Blue Beast!

  • Pajalusta ,pacladi video is Yamaha EX 7.Spasiba!

  • @Serebrennikov Hi, I'm glad if this helped you to decide to buy Yamaha EX-7. Enjoy your music! Michal

  • @Najvrtson whats the difference between ex5 and this

  • @gropegrape The EX5 has 76note semiweighted keyboard (instead of 61note standard keyboard on EX7), 126 voices of polyphony (instead of 64), the additional VL synthesis and more flexible multieffects setup possibilities. Please, refer on Vintage Synth Explorer.

  • @gropegrape More polyphony, plus the ability to run AN based voices with FDSP enabled. The EX7 does not allow that as it requires a good amount of CPU.

  • I have an Ex 7! Nice to hear someone play it so well!

  • @saarnoldbhm Thanks!

  • Please make more. I remember this synth from years ago but never actually got to hear one besides the demo songs from the VQ player from years ago which of course no longer exists now. I just might pick one up at a great deal.

  • @ChurchBoy0487 Hello, I will make more videos (not only fot EX-7), but it will take a certain time. Thank you for patience...

  • I've had one of these for three years, but alas I am no programmer so I don't know how to do much more than the presets. Thanks for sharing.

  • @saarnoldbhm You are right, the EX is not very easy to programm, but only by programming it, you can understand its potential. Thank you for your comment!

  • @Najvrtson Do you have any suggestions on how to program the real time knobs for ADSR or whatever they can be programed for. I have no idea on what they can control. I would really appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  • @saarnoldbhm Hi, on the main page in the Voice Edit Mode (press Edit button in the Voice mode), there you can find CTRL function above the F7 button. Press the F7 and then F8 (SET). Now, you can create the modulation matrix, where you can modify the function of each knob, modulation wheels, etc for each from four voice elements. This setup is strored together with other voice parameters. It is also good idea to download the users manual from Yamaha PK Club page. Hope, this will help. Michal

  • I have 2 ex5's, can't figure out the sequencers though, sure wish someone would make a video on how to record track over track in ENGLISH...Pleaaaassseeee

  • Oh! The 1st video with a demo of the EX7! Very nice indeed! I love this machine so much...

  • @eide97 Thanks!
