@MEpianist: You "real socialists" hate us conservatives because you can't compete with us economically. You despise competition-- but you love confiscation. You despise capitalism- but you lust for the taxes it generates. Your ideology is soft tyranny. You "real socialists" are willing slaves of the state.
@tomthefunky I don't hate you, I pity you. If you want to talk economics, compare Finland to Russia. If you want to talk competition, compare the German banking system with the US [government] bailouts under Bush. You right-wing "useful idiots" are slaves of private power.
@MEpianist: Fuck Finland and Russia. Let's talk about Detroit and Baltimore! No, you don't want to talk about that, do you? You'd rather talk about the German banking system rather than your own country and the failures of your own ideology right here in America.
'Slaves of private power"? Yeah, your a socialist alright. You just can't stand the fact that someone, somewhere is making a profit. You think they're the bad guys and the one's who want to confiscate that profit are the good guys.
@MEpianist: Your utopian European socialist dream is doomed. The lavish retirement, healthcare, and benefit packages your comrades in western Europe have adopted is unsustainable. Why? Low birth rates. Europeans are not reproducing. There are simply not enough people working to pay for the generation currently retiring. Socialism has infantilized them to the point where childbearing has become an obstacle to their hedonistic lifestyles. They are fucked. How's that for saying something?
@Texfield91 Very, very true! In fact, I just listened to a BBC podcast which carefully explained how many European countries are on the brink of financial collapse. The problem is that it's all too easy to name some far off place which few in the discussion know the details of and rave about it in glowing terms, not mentioning any of the problems there.
2. Even if the EU's economy is larger than America's, and it isn't, individually almost every European nation is economically troubled today and probably will be in the future.
3. European nations' lavish social programs combined with their growing aging populations and low birth rates are economically unsustainable.
liberals and socialists are morality slaves, nothing else nothing more. There policies stem from our basic teachings of good and wrong, only they do not have the depth to understand the cost and the responsibility that goes with the systems they tout.
i so enjoy how everyone BASHES different social political view points. socialism, communism, capitalism, blah blah blah... to tell you the truth... there all right in many ways, and are all equally capable of delivering a perfectly stable and morally acceptable society with all the freedoms and rights do to ALL people. it has never been the fault of the idea, but rather how the idea was carried out, period! wake up people! your being imprisoned by your own ignorance...
@governmentcheese411 What you've written sounds like a good talking point but it strays far from any semblance of FACT. The reason Socialism & Communism are abject failures is because they destroy the incentive of the individual to strive for more. Eventually more & more people do less & less. So your notion that such systems can deliver a "perfectly stable" society is a lie.
@welovesarahpalin first off... no one that would agree with that idiot palin is no where near my level of intelligent thought. second. you better go read a few more books on the subject before you call someone a liar half wit. russia beat us on so many technological levels it is not even funny and yet they are communistic. are they perfect systems? NO and neither is capitalism. they simply haven't had a chance to be fully explored. so fine, call me a liar, still leaves you as the house idiot :)
@welovesarahpalin also, i'd like to add the who says it crashes the will of the people to strive for more. seriously, this has got to be the most ignorant thing i've heard in a while. russia has handed us our ass on many topics of choice and further more, who is it that is buying up our debt like crack to a drug addict? CHINA! as a matter of fact. besides the U.S. what are the next 3 world super powers? CHINA, RUSSIA, FRANCE, ETC. not one of them being a capitalist... NOT ONE! WHO'S LYING NOW
@governmentcheese411 All wealth in all three of those countries you cited comes from the capitalist portions of them. Period. End of issue.
A friend of mine & radio broadcaster in Houston named James Wright summed up the likes of you quite succinctly: "It's not that we disagree on issues, it's that we disagree on reality!"
This is awesome. I can't stand these self righteous socialist wannabe pricks who can't stand up to anyone well informed in an actual debate. This caller probably listens to Greenday or some stupid shit too.
This caller made $38,000, last year. I made $27,000.
I would like this caller to send me a check for $5,500, please.

The problem with conservatives is they passed Econ 101 and think they have all the answers -- they deflate within a minute against a real socialist.
