  • Get you some Hornady 55 grain V-max's about $21 a box but they dont run if you hit them in the head lol

  • @MrMikej78 I use Federal hollow points. 2 vids down the road thats what I load up with

  • lol, were the people home? bet that scared the hell out of them when you shot! man, he was close!

  • @fracwilt yes she was, watching TV and never heard it. I warned her the next time I shot and she didnt hear that either!

  • nothing to say about the rounds you used. at one time in my life, it was issue rounds. but more on that later.

  • Them damn ghost hogs! lol ... Great show Darak!

  • @HawgNSonsTV2 Thanks Trent!

  • Man you need a .30 cal, swap that .223 upper out for a 300 AAC Blackout upper. CMMG makes 'em for $580...and it uses standard AR mags, all you need is the upper and a couple boxes of ammo.

  • @talisman9000 I'm gonna have to look into these new toys, teh .223 wasnt the problem, the bullet was, its not my normal round

  • See this is when 458 SOCOM with 320 grain bullet be nice to have :-) ha ha!

  • @robggw I'm sure!

  • That is one tough hog!!!

  • @camargopark1985 that he is!

  • might need silver bullets for that sucker.

  • @1tamtom thats an idea!

  • Dang the luck. I recommend the federal fusions on those pigs. FMJ just doesn't do imo.

  • @TXBucksnort I use fussions in my .270, they make a nice hole! Just use the FMjs cause thats the only thing I had with me.

  • Dis somebody say hog dog?

  • @WWWJUGGINGFORCATFISH we were going to go, but it turned out cold and rainy.

  • Speaking of coming back, this video was so great that I had to watch it twice! A pity youtube won't let me thumb it up twice ;_;

    Thanks again!

  • @killyouin1punch very welcome! I'm starting the blood trailing vid

  • Great video D, gotta love getting up close and personal!

  • @skeeter101010 I love getting up on them!

  • Finally bagged my ghost last night from about the same distance! 130# boar. AR15 Hornaday 60gr V-Max (think that's what my partner said he used). In and out broadside through the chest. Couldn't even see the entry point but the exit wound was gnarly. He ran about 15yds and dropped. FINALLY!!!

  • @BurchMike1 congrats! wish I had my hollow points with me, next time

  • Why did you use full metal D?

  • @2433006guy cause its all I had, forgot to bring my normal rounds and thats what was in the bag from sighting it in

  • @dnahoghunter That makes sense. Hope you get the tracking trip up soon. He took that hit hard. He escapes this time you may need to call ghost hunters.

  • Great hunt ! But it's ok at lest you chased that hog off ..hopefully it won't come back

  • @clintonmedic80 hes been coming back for a year, this is the 3rd time hes been shot

  • why couldn't a guy use a softcatch leg hold trap? do them hogs have real tough legs,,,or maybe it would put the family pets in danger

  • @SwampDonkey530 3 dogs running the area

  • Need some help let me know not that far fom you, keep hunting, not easy at all in the dark chasing ghost

  • @splinterman9 I ll keep that in mind, thanks

  • GREAT VID but next time use a HP or SP round you would of took half its head off from that distance ;-) try a 55gr spitzer ;-)

  • @cressy7isback Thanks I know. I taken many hogs, I used th efull metal for sighting in and thats all I had... hindsights 20/20. And "the next time" has come and gone

  • Badass!

  • @Teammohawkoutdoors thanks!

  • bout time for the 12gauge 3inch slug!!!!

  • @scrappulous1 or a better bullet!

  • That hog didnt care, he must have had some kind of body armor on. Not includineg thefat. Cant wait to see em when you find him.

  • Haha...man what a tough Hog!! He must have a full metal jacket on his own dang self, haha!! Very cool vid Darak...I hope you get that sucker...can't wait to see all them bullet holes in em!!

  • @LoneStarCreekRanch thanks Robert. Over time they heal. And I find a hog with a pencil hole going thru the neck, heals very fast!

  • OH that hurts dude that much time and at that distance at 2.58 to 3.26 his head was there for the taking. one shot should have dropped him dead on his track. getting familiar w/ new gun could be the culprit , adrenaline maybe, but I could feel your pain.. reminds me of my missed shots that I wish I could turn back time and re do it. but there's no rewind in hunting

  • @2xtrmshot I can go frame by frame and after the fact I see the bullet hit him right behind the ear, just above the bones. Full metal was a big problem too. If that hadda been a hollow point...

  • Thanks for takin' us along with ya, Darak! I felt like I was playin' one of my sons video games! Sounds like ya have a tough one there, my friend!

  • @OutdoorsmanByDesign you like the new camera setup? Its awesome in the daytime. You don't see the smoke from the shot and it doesnt jump much

  • @dnahoghunter

Looks like it's workin' for ya! I can sure relate on the whole camera deal. It sure takes some tweakin' & gettin' used to, that's for sure.

  • foooook he is a ghost

    more luck next time

i will keep my fingers crosed

  • @lluckyno7 thank you

  • The Answer to this equation is: .458 SOCOM

  • @killersp1974 YEEEAAAHHH! SEND me one please!!!

  • That is definately one tuff Hog, shot him 3 times and you have not found him yet, good luck. Take care and thanks.

  • @ewtoutdoors he is for sure! I'm starting to feel bad for him!
