@QueenWaterLily I dunno if I would'nt say most interesting ancestry because thats down to peoples personal tastes but they do have some interesting Myths and Legends like a lot of old and ancient cultures, I can't say Viking/Norsk mythology is any less interesting or Germanic, Egyptian and Greek. Its just a shame these interesting cultures were wiped out by the bloodshed of modern religion. (Not that I have anything against religion) :-)

No, but Ireland is the most pure country with Celts, Scotland is half-Picts and Wales has loads of different migrations, including Spaniards, that's why some are dark, and I think Cornwall is very pure too with Celts.

the reason they're dark is because native britons are from basque country in spain. the lighter brits are probably a mix between galician and scandinavian however, seeing as they populated the island 10,000 - 15,000 years ago, i think we can be quite secure that most of them experienced at least a few centuries of celtic culture. what does "celt" really mean anyway? it was more than one culture and a load more different races/ethnicities...

Remember something, "Celtic Music" is jus a LABEL to identify and generalize the Folk music from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the nort of Spain: Galicia, Asturias and the north of france, but remember that this is not really music from the ancient celts, they dissapeared even before middle ages...

So, now there are a lot of musical influences and fussions that are good, but remember that the name: "Celtic Music" is no more than a label. Ive played Galician &Irish folk music for 15 yrs
