Just one photo of Darwin Porter and it's from 1959? Yeah right. Darwin = Danforth Prince. Now there's a theory for you! Why doesn't Darwin ever talk about his books? Who knows who that picture is really of, it could be anyone.

This guy is gay. The author is gay. Every man that lays claim to having had Newman is gay. The author and the rest of them have probably been fantasizing about Paul Newman since 1959! And lo and behold, Newman dies and suddenly there is a book claiming he's gay too! Or woops! "bisexual."

How wrong-whether it's true or false. What kind of coward puts that material out after someone dies?

yes it was cowardly...I agree to out anyone without their permission, it's a very personal thing and I have struggled with people hiding in the closet but it's their choice in the end. Only problem I have with these folks is many of them openly chastise being gay out in public which is absolutely damaging and highly hypocritical, which many of these stars did and still do to this day. Stay in the closet FINE, but don't publicly denounce homosexuality while in the closet

so this book is typical hear say and gossip,trust me if he was such a promiscuous wild child sleeping with everyone then it would have surfaced way before now.the press are relentless in their pursuit of scandal,there is no way Paul was just talented enough to sneak through.he was a great man that did so much good.just remember its always easy to criticize someone who is no longer here to defend himself.to bad mr.porter cant find anything worth while to write about.i pity him

I just want to read the book. I was a Newman fan but true or untrue it should make good reading. Most biographies bore me to tears. Darwin Porter's bios keep me wanting more. It's not hurting anyone. These people are dead. What about all the womanizing JFK did.Not known until after his death. We didn't know about Rock Hudson or Paul Linde either till after their deaths.

I've just finished Porter's book on Merv Griffin and can't wait to sink my teeth into his biog of Paul Newman.

I love to watch The Verdict every Christmas season. Paul's character lawyer Gallagher's summation near the climax is profound.

I'd love to know about Paul's personal spirituality, as his parents represented the two great religious traditions, Catholicism and Judaism.

I want to say that I even couldn't finish the video. How do they dare? Paul Newman passed away, let him rest in peace. For millions of people (as for me) he was a great actor, an enormous generous human being and a responsible citizen of the world. Please, it is already very hard to know that he is not anymore with us, and it's inconceivable that some people aren't respectful with his family and his memory. It's completely inappropriate and, moreover, it's none of our business. Paul Newman RIP.

As you can see from my videos, I have been a Paul Newman fan for quite a long time now. It isn't fair to judge Mr Porter's book until you have read it. Newman's previous biographer, Shawn Levy, was ripped to shreds by the press and Newman fans (very unfairly) and for no good reason.

I haven't read any of Mr Porter's books, but I will give this one a fair go before forming an opinion.

I agree: I'll read the books first before I form an opinion in regards to them. For example, I thought Dan O'Brien's 2004 Paul bio was shallow, and although Levy and Porter's bios may be raunchier and darker, I'm still interested to read them.

I've read Porter's "Brando Unzipped". It was EXTREMELY entertaining, I must say! I'm not sure exactly how truthful it all was, but it was still a good read.

I'll be interested to see Hotch's bio about Paul, too, when it comes out next year.

Lol, excuse me but people don't necessarily believe that he was perfect. Obviously no one is perfect. He knew he wasn't perfect. But he WAS clean cut. You people should'nt believe everything you're hearing. Lmao, the affairs that this guy claims Paul had, would've come way out in the open YEARS ago. Ugh no. I wasn't married to him and I'm not really ranting, I'm just wondering how on earth people are believing this guys made up stories. This guy didn't have the guts to release it when Paul was alive because none of it is true, and he knew it so he waited. The guy has no evidence. If what he claims was true, fine, let it be, he was still a good person. I can accept the truth, but it has to be the actual TRUTH. Not made up stories. Some people are really eating this stuff up.

No, because back in the 40s-80s journalists were too scared of being sued. There were many scandalous books written about movie stars and their sex lives, but publishers just wouldn't touch them. It was too risky. Homosexuality and bisexuality were not issues publishers would approach.
