  • Thanks did-you-kno.tumblr -__-

  • Crazy that this was made by walt Disney. Haha

  • bathing? the cartoon is showering.. imagine bathing without a tampon...

  • twitter - uber facts, brought me here

  • Thank you, Tumblr. I'm scared for life.

  • tumblr brought me here. (did-you-kno.tumblr.com)

  • even the narrator paused after saying vagina. Why is everyone (me included) so leery of that word? Sometimes hearing that word is worse than fuck, bitch, dike, cunt , dick or ass. The peculiarities of socially accepted words and phrases...

  • twitter brought me here...

  • This was the first film to use... that word... WHAT THE HELL.

  • Where the hell are some of their feet????

  • @MarsVoltaTibet What the heck r u talking bout?! Who created nature?! When they say as nature intended they mean God's plan! Btw this was intended for all girls of all religion, you can't go around saying God to certain ppl they get...cranky. :D

  • Where was this during middle school?! Nowadays parents refuse to talk about this to their children no wonder why our generation keeps getting pregnant

  • @devilownsmenot500 Yeah like i went to a private Christian school and they didn't tell us about anything. I had no clue about menstruation until it happened, and that is probably the same case with pregnacy. Its not fair that adults aren't telling us, we need to know about stuff like this.

  • It felt like I was sitting in heath.. until she said Vagina... why did it seem like the loudest word she said the whole time?

  • yep, tumblr ...

  • vaaaagina

  • She kind of sounds like Joan Crawford.

  • Why Walt? Why?

  • wow i actually learnt a thing or two from this lol

  • @EvatheDiva00 word

  • "Oh come on now, we said /practically/ everything"

  • Tumblr brought me here,as well

  • @BloodCat22 me to.lol

  • creepy

  • she paused after saying vagina...

  • hd remix please!!!!!!

    i cant see vag

  • *tumblr

  • Tumble bought me here.. Also summed up more than my pe teachers did.. Touché Disney!

  • tumblr brought me here..

  • This is fairly accurate information and i am for some reason really proud of old Disney for it.

  • Did...did women really think that they weren't supposed to shower during their periods? I know it's mentioned in the Bible days, but in the 1960s they still thought that? Really?

  • @SuperDbzfan4life youd be surprised at how many woman think you cant shower while you're on your period lol

  • @MarsVoltaTibet agreed ! :)

  • how the hell did i end up here??

  • Why I think this is the same narrator as in "Bambi"

Totally remember this from grade 5!

  • I love this, very very nice little explanation that is still very relevant... I think every young lady should watch it!

  • more info than i need to know, seriously,

  • I got more out of this 10 minute film than I did for all the sex ed classes at school

  • Disney makes the best sexual education films!

  • Oh how they call on "Mother Nature" instead of God. :(

  • @DjVinnie91 bc god doesnt exist, grow up, im glad disney didnt say bullshit

  • @Met0llicA Imagine this: There is a person named Huang, in China, heading out to his day job right as we speak,

You don't know the guy, never seen him, never met him. You have only heard about him from me.

Can you say with all honest certainty, that you speak the absolute truth, that this person cannot exist because you have never seen him, don't know him and only heard of him?

    No.

  • @Met0llicA You can only speculate and/or guess and/or assume. There is no way in an infinite amount of years YOU can say with certainty or absolute fact that Huang OR God does or does not exist, for the mere fact that YOU cannot and do not know EVEN half of everything.

I'm glad I know better than Disney and you. :) Have a good day.

  • @DjVinnie91 please watch zeitgeist from 2007 and it explains how jesus is just the Sun, and watch some of carl sagan and stephen hawking videos, or richard dawkins, im sure theres still a chance for you to join us

"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful"

  • @Met0llicA I am not religious. I have a relationship with my God. Religion is based on rules, and not on trust in the Lord. I trust in the Lord, before I try to do what I am already condemned to fail at anyway.

I have watched Zeitgeist, I have watched Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins and Carl Sagan, but I haven't found a shred of truth in what they proclaimed.

I am an intellectual person and a philosopher. If you think I'm stupid, it rather tells something about you than me.

  • @Met0llicA With that said, I challenge you to refute my "Chinese man" analogy. If you succeed, you may have a chance. If you don't, I would like you to just acknowledge that you cannot know for absolute fact whether God does or does not exist.

  • I'll tell my biologics teacher to show this to the new graders ._.

  • Oh Disney, if only you had made the spousal abuse and alcoholic ones. Oh well.

  • Ohhh I hate it when people pronounce it "matooring." No offense.

  • Gettin' dem facts...

  • Gotta' love Disney

  • You personal period tracker >.>

  • i don't think the average age is 13 anymore. isn't it closer to 9 now?

  • @Narnianchick 9 yo is way too early mate

  • @Narnianchick I believe that it depends on the climate. Females in hotter places like Africa can start as early as 8 or 9, whereas those who live in colder places like Scandinavia start later, like at age sixteen.

  • to make students have a good laugh when their teachers show this and the comments are visible,

"HEY STUDENTS!!! YOUR TEACHER IS AN ASSHOLE!!!!"

  • Hahaha......

Why is mother nature called mother nature? Because nature can be a harsh witch.

  • 2:43 Sounds like she's laughing after she says vagina

  • OMG,this is the same movie my elementary school showed the girls when I was in school in the 1970's. I guess the school district never shelled out for a newer one.

  • @mlhunter165 Mine, too. Didn't think much of it until it happened to me.

  • this made me lulz

  • OHMYGOD why does this exist? I'm so disturbed yet fascinated. It's mostly just scientific and clearly was made as an educational video probably for schools, but I'm still just amazed by these old vids.

  • You can see the booklet featured in this video at mum-dot-org-slash-verperbk-dot-htm

  • As funny as this is, especially that it's Disney, it's awesome if you think about it. It's so educational and good for young girls to learn about their bodies so they know what's going on. This describes everything they need to know in simple, straightforward language. The logical progression would be to make videos like this about safe sex and birth control. Teens should be educated about STD's,condoms, and other means of contraception. Blame the stupid religious right for blocking progress.

  • <3 Disney ^.^

  • i remember watching this in school when i was in 5th grade...

  • Dear Walt Disney,

    WHY?!!!

  • @ToDeadToCareNow Why not? It's good that they were teaching women that it was nothing to be ashamed about, and quite frankly at 17 years old, I wish someone had told me that the first time I got it. :/

  • @CassiElick well, yeah i mean it's informative and helpful, but, well, I'm not sure. It still just seems like a video that some SexEd teacher would make instead of Disney. It just seems weird to me that they made something like this is all :/ And 17?!! Damn, someone should've explained it to you before now!!

  • So, why hasn't Disney made a ride based on this classic, in Disneyland?

  • 7:13

    LOL sexism much?

  • @AkramUnited Remember this was in the 1940s, leading into the 50s, where this was not sexism--this is what a girl expected. This was when America's economy was healthy and only the man had to work.

  • Ahh the first time the word "vagina" was used in a film.

  • The announcer sounds like she had a bottle of whiskey before she read the script

  • 'record of past performance' trololol

  • @DearWolfintheMoon

They used rags and washed them off and wore it again. Thats where the term "On the Rag" came from

  • That awkward moment when she said 'vagina'.

  • i just have a question. WAYYY back then...maybe even in the colonial times, when a girl has her menstruation, what did they use to keep the blood from staining their clothes and running down their legs and what not?

  • @DearWolfintheMoon They used thick pieces of cloth. That's where we get the phrase "on the rag".

  • lots of water does help,, so does ice cream :D I never found exercise to help at all, usually makes it worse :S

  • This is way more informative than the movie I saw,and this is really old lol

Plus,I KNOW this. Why did I just watch this?

  • D= was the look on my face.

  • damn boys have it SO MUCH easier than us girls do... >:(

  • @AnimeRoxorz13 ... *sigh*

one gender does not have it harder... there are things that are harder about being a girl or being a boy

  • @AnimeRoxorz13 sad.. xDD

  • I remember seeing this film in 5th and 6th grades in the late 60s. The boys were sent out to the playground to play basketball while the girls got to watch “The Movie”. We were given 2 booklets: Very Personally Yours, and Growing Up And Liking It. We were also cautioned to NOT let the boys see the booklets and to NOT tell them what the movie was about.

  • wtf ive had my period for 3 years now and its still iregullar, O.O i get it every 6 months *feels good man*

  • @1needzAname count yourself lucky! my aunt gets hers every two weeks :{ I've had mine for 16 years now and I had to start taking the pill to make mine more regular, it's always been out of wack. you should probably talk to a doc if yours are so few and far between though,, are you very thin? might have something to do with it :)

  • @MystiqueHorizon OMIGAWD!! :O Every two?? and I complain everytime i get mine. I talked to my doctor and she said im okay and that theres nothing wrong which is weird.... and im not thin im chunky xD

  • Awww menstruation its so awesome, too bad I'm a guy U_U

  • Sometimes I Hate that i came out of a vagina! X(

  • >This video is most popular with:

    >Gender Age

    >Female 13-17

    >Male 45-54

    >Male 35-44

    something's not right here...

  • @enuvune Isn't it the age most men would be dads? And they begin to have teenage daughters ....

  • 29 people haven't had their period yet

  • im 15 and i took sex ed but i didnt understand it but is i understand... wow... is felt so wierd hearing this lady say vagina....

  • bet it was weird for the woman recording this to say vagina. i hear this was the first time it was ever said on film.

  • She missed out the part where we turn into viscious angry monsters....oh, is that just me? awww

  • I'm 22 and just had a baby. SO... Why did I just watch that?

  • Why is that baby wearing makeup?

  • less pervert than the actual disney series

  • I LOVE HOW SHE SAYS VAGINA xD

  • This is actually really cute, I wish they would have showed me this in fifth grade instead of a creepy lady putting a tampon in.

  • @TheCableProductions Oh that's nothing, we watched cartoon people touch themselves, touch each other and then have sex on the floor....then transform into moving diagrams....you'd think it would be less graphic but....no, no it wasn't *shudders*

  • this is still very relevant and accurate!

  • YAWNNN!!!! I want to sleep

  • this is milarious..disneyy please stopp.

  • @1futbolandmusic noo i was joking about everything lol..knew about it b4..but thanks for playing along ^_^

  • @1futbolandmusic Why are you laughing?? So mean -_- naa just kidding, but made you laugh

  • I think this has a lot of useful info and should still be used.

  • pretty informative, but it kept creeping me out that Disney created this

  • THANK GOD IM NOT A GIRL!

  • @MrTeamKillerHD Lmfao XD

  • LOL I can sooo imagine Beavis and Butt-head watching this.

  • i liked the part about constipation

  • Wow, I was expecting this to stupid and uninformative, but it's actually pretty good other than not mentioning pads and stuff

  • Why didn't our teachers show us this video when we went to school?

  • OMG is this true? I didn't know girls went trough this...and im 20

  • 29 are accidently pregnent.

  • Guys ... the girl has no feet ....

  • 28 people are having a period as you read this... gross

  • Accidentally learning!

  • I can't believe I sat here for 10 minutes and watched this :D

  • 7:35

that's my life on the rag

  • thank you OMGFacts

  • lol... strange... they r ready to tell u about periods and stuff.. yet no mention of sex o.O... doesnt that usually come with knowing about periods?

(note: before shes seen with a baby they show a pic of the girl at a wedding... as if saying u must be married before having a baby.. well it is the 40 :P)

  • The perfect vid for Justin Bieber

  • Most popular with:

    Male 45-54

    Female 13-17

    Male35-44

    Oh Really?!?

  • O.........O.O..................

  • ROFL. Thanks OMGFacts.

  • Does this make the women in this video, the menstruation princesses?

  • @Jenta18 no, i think that would be princess jasmine...

  • OMGFacts FTW.

  • Thumbs up if you found out about this through Compendium of completely useless information part 3 :P

  • Oh, this must've been an educational film strip that he made for sex ed in schools cuz that was an actual course back then.

  • Disney was a weird man. He even had projects he didnt like

  • @ajmrowland How do you know he didn't like it?

  • @ShopiStar I dont know just like you dont know if he did. I'm just saying it's a possibility. He was forced to do propoganda films for WWII and was dissatisfied with Alice in Wonderland, so it cant be ruled out. And there were times when he had to think about money and avoid bankruptcy.

  • I want to see this in Kingdom Hearts.

  • um....

  • Wow why the heck would Disney make this?

  • Lets see a ride for this at disneyland.

  • Sex Ed back in the day!

  • The american cartoons were so politically incorrect back then. Only white girls are present in this film. Could you imagine it today? :))))) Shame on intolerant Disney!

  • @eugenealive Lawl, way to miss the point.

It has nothing to do with that; they're just women. It'd be like complaining that only one species of deer is in Bambi. This is a stupid complaint that I'm really tired of hearing...

  • @InvaderZim897 Dude, you have problems with sarcasm detection :)

  • @eugenealive Well, sorry, everyone does, though. It's called Poe's Law; it states that it's VERY difficult to tell between real stupidity and mocking it. At least when it comes to indirect communication like through text. And I think it goes double on YouTube where 80% of everyone's stupid.

  • @InvaderZim897 OK, man, no problem. That's why the smilies were invented :) But they do not always do the job correctly.

  • ...Who wants to exercise when they're on their period?!

  • cute! ^^,

  • wow i never knew disney would do such film for menstruation,, great!

  • Where is that OH MY GOOOOOD! guy Troll 2 when you need him?

  • This is better than Hannah Montannah and Suite Life of Zac and Cody at least.

  • Why is that baby wearing lipstick.

  • Wait. Why doesn't she have any feet?

  • "Not only CAN you bathe, you SHOULD bathe."

    Oh my god.

How many women in the 40's went that entire, disgusting 5 days without a bath?

    WHY. :C

  • "an occasional twinge" oh plz. gimme a break.

  • @lotsandlotsofbubbles That's pretty much true. I rarely get pain :P

  • PERIODS CAUSE BAD POSTURE!?!? OH NOSE!

  • @lynn17: you're right, I remember that era, and it was scary!

  • Considering the time it was made, this film is surprisingly objective, even if it is an ad for Kotex: say, did Walt Disney invent the tampon? This can't be true! Sarah Palin has publically stated this.

  • .... ok, wait, so why doesnt she have feet?

  • so this movie is ACTUALLY true?!?!?!

  • MATOORING.

  • @KadajSweetie that how they say maturing in California XD

  • @KadajSweetie thats how they say maturing in California XD

  • nice video! =)

  • Man, you can SO tell this was made in the 50s. XD While the stuff about eating and sleeping well still hold true, this thing pretty much says "your period shouldn't cause you any discomfort because if it does, you won't be able to act like a perfect little lady at all times and that's BAD!!!". Boy am I glad those days are over.

  • woooow. go disney lol

  • THUMNS UP IF FUNNYJUNK SENT YOU HERE!!!

  • @skreedom222 Thumb whore!! Lol jks
