Abortion isn't the way to go for everyone. As a pro-choice person, I believe abortions are a tragedy. Unplanned pregnancies are a tragedy. The fact that any woman would ever have to make that decision is sad, and no one has the right to pass judgment on them. If you reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies, you reduce the number of abortions. You have to realize though, that by making abortion illegal, you are causing a chain effect of unintended and less desirable events.

The main deal is my opinion is the first trimester abortions are potential people. At this point you also have to deal with premature babies so I think in this time frame abortions should be allowed. Also if mom could die in child birth abortion should be allowed.

there is a waitlist for parents who would like to adopt babies such that these people who would like to adopt but cannot turn to other nations to adopt children. Helping orphans isn't an issue; there are more willing adoptive parents than are kids who need parents.

The main deal is my opinion is the first trimester abortions are potential people. At this point you also have to deal with premature babies so I think in this time frame abortions should be allowed. Also if mom could die in child birth abortion should be allowed.

possible exceptions though, would be if the mother was predicted to be killed in some way before or during birth, or if the pregnancy was a result of rape. though for the latter, i believe that adoption is a MUCH better way to go. i believe that the protests that were mentioned are needed as well. people need to see what they are doing when they get an abortion. I haven't heard anyone make more sense on this issue than her. Abortion should ALWAYS be an option and should be legal and safe. At the same time, we really need to educate young people about sex, and not just scare them with the ideas of pregnancy and disease. Young people need to be able to make informed decisions. I think honest discussions about the responsibilities, and yes, potential baggage that comes with sex can be incredibly useful. Of course, easy access to birth control is needed.

Back in the 1950's when it was illegal, young girls were dying from botched abortions, girls were arrested if there was a rumor she had an abortion. It was a very dark time. Nobody really wants or likes abortions. Mrs. Clinton gave a good, rational realistic speech on how to stop abortions. To simply say it's illegal is the most dumb, heartless and least effective way of stopping abortions.

I'm a Democrat, but I am pro-life. I think we should do more to help the situation than just legislation (I do support legislatiion), i.e. portable healthcare, encouraging fatherhood, targeting poverty, extending help to single pregnant women, better education, going after teen pregnancy, promoting taking responsibility, etc. But I do not support measures to allow for unwanton abortion; it is not restrictive at all. It contradicts all she said here. I doubt her credibility.

Just a fact. They've tried to ban it in the 70's and it FAILED miserably.
It was illegal but women threw themselves down stairs, took pills, ect, and went to back yard clinics. Some rich ones went to other countries on "vacation" to get an abortion.
Either way, it failed, and it would fail again. And as I've said, women wont stop having abortions just cuz it's illegal. DRugs are illegal but omg, is it stopping anyone?

If 120,000 unborn babies are murdered butally through abortion in Germany every year although it is a country that has quite strict anti-abortion laws compared to most of the other western countries, how many infants are brutally murdered in the US every year? I disagree if a woman is raped and becomes pregnant she should put the child up for adoption. It's not the baby's fault that it was concieved by rape. The only time I see that an abortion should happen is if the mother is in danger if she has the baby.

They have blocked a waiting period bill--it would have given girls an information packet and a day to look it over. Ultrasound viewing options, protection of minors, notification of minors' parents, honest reviews of fetal development--all these bills have been fought by pro-abortion politicians.I wish they'd raise awareness like you say
