Hey @OnePotChef. Thank you for the recipe and I'm a 13 year old boy and suppose my mum. But I have 2 questions.
1: can I use Cadbury chocolate or melted nuttela instead of the chocolate buttons and thicken cream? And also 2: Can I use a similar substitute for icing sugar? The shops are far from my place and want to make a surprise when mum comes home!
I made it and the first time didn't turn out good..I made several mistakes I think... but the taste was AWESOme.. today I made them in a new way and THEY ARE AWESIOME!! are all ready to be Christmas presents!!! thanks a lot!! YOU ROCK! hugs from Spain
These cookies turned out great! Im taking them to a xmas party at work tomorrow. Thank you David! I was fighting my friends off from eating them before the party...LOL
@gobin56 You can use any chocolate you like for the ganache filling, however there is no substitute for cocoa in the cookies. You will need to use a different cookie recipe if you don't want to use cocoa ;)
This look good!!! I have made the rum balls recipe 4 times now... Im addicted David what have you done to me? Haha I love them they are deluciousssssss, im for sure trying this cookies. =D thanks!
your going to make us all fat its hard enough that its x-mass time with hams and candy now u just shove this is my face ....ggggggg now im going to half to make it
@lhtlinh3192 No, a blender is not a good substitute for a food processor as they are not powerful enough. Use the bowl method mentioned in the video if you don't have a food processor ;)
@willie22233 Mine is mid-range model and it cost about AU$100 - but you can get cheaper or more expensive models depending on brand and motor power ;)
David I am confused. I know what you mean by "cream you would use to make whipped cream" but in the video yours already looks like whipped cream? Should I whip my cream then put it in or? Im making these right now the batter smells delicious lol
@MrButterworth24 In Australia, we have something called "Thickened Cream" which is basically ordinary whipping cream with a little gelatin added to make it extra thick. Regardless of what cream you use, there is need to whip it first, just put it straight in - it'll work the same ;)
@Zengster007 Keep them in an airtight container in the kitchen cupboard for up to one week. If it's a hot day, it might be better to keep them in the fridge ;)
i am in the mist of studying for my last final and i saw this video pop up in my subscription box and had to click it! I will reward myself with some chocolaty goodness as soon as my finals are over in 3 hours! soooooo hungry
Your heavy whipping cream is a lot thicker than anything I've ever seen here. Our HWC (or what I could find) is just a little thicker than whole milk, so still pretty runny.
@Pauly69s I recommend a food processor and a small hand mixer - that's usually enough for everyday baking. A full size mixer is good if you do a lot of baking but they cost a lot more ;)
@OnePotChefShow Thank U Sir...i dont do a lot of baking butt i see the things u do and it inspires me...plus i want to make something special for my family on my own for Christmas...))
@crazycookie66 I believe they're soft. Only because when he bites into it you don't really hear any crunch, buuut don't know for sure:) Just thought I'd mention that!
@rachiibuu A hand mixer would not get the right consistency. If you don't have a food processor, use the method described in the video to integrated the butter and dry ingredients by hand ;)
