Its true the quality of youtube doesn't lend itself to the greatness of this film but I think that reproductions of images like this are inevitable in this day and age.
I don't think its "devalued" as much as it is just different. I suppose its up to the artist to be offended by this appropriation.
Welcome to the 21st century, the gallery isn't the only outlet for the presentation of art work anymore. Why should we keep art on a pedestal when it can accomplish more with more accessibility?
This is such an insult to the artist. Imagine having some little bitch record your work from a gallery and then devalue it by putting it on youtube, it should have the credit of remaining in a gallery. Youtube is an inappropriate artistic medium for this work.
I also saw some of his movies at the Hirshorn. Does anybody know a way how I can get to see his other movies without having to travel around the world to various exhibitions? Is there a DVD?
I saw this and No Man Is An Island II at the Hirshorn in DC a few months ago and i would say i liked "No Man.." better. i wish someone would upload that video too
The full thing is amazing. I saw it a few weeks ago at the Hirshorn museum in D.C. It's one of the most powerful, captivating films I have ever seen. Actually, it was and is.
does anyone know if the jesper just video with the cross dressing trucker is on here?

The full thing is a million times better than this clip. I can't wait until he comes to the Hirshhorn for his artist talk!
