hi there, love to see you so enthusiastic about your ear mould :) just a quick question, haven't read all the comments below. Why don't you hear on your right hear? I had hearing aids for the past 10 years until I got a Cochlear Implant. Like you I only hear on one year.
@MyTrueStory85 Glad you posted (and yeah it's too many comments to read them all LOL) I don't hear on my right ear because of the cochlea being too thick. The eardrum is too thick. Everything on that side doesn't work right, so I get no sound at all. Do you like your implant?
@RiverBirch1967 hi there :) yes I do like my implant. I can hear to music again, the sounds are like they used before, I can distinguish male vs female sounds. It took me a month or two to get adjusted,... I made a speed recovery but so far I'm satisfied :)
@MyTrueStory85 So happy to hear this. I'm excited that it worked so well for you. I've never met anyone with a CI before, you are my first experience! :)
@RiverBirch1967 Hi :)) never? nice to meet you then :) ;) I have some videos about my cochlear journey and some poetry dealing with hearing impairment etc :)
@RiverBirch1967 hi :) I know the Austrian Sign Language (as I live in Austria - Europe). I studied it for two years. In one video I signed but I'm out of practice. Need to brush up my skills again :)
Wow, that is really cool how streamline they have become. I am sorry to hear of your hearing loss in your other ear. I'm grateful that you can still hear out of the other one though.
@PaintedRavensong I have it just perfect Raven. Best of both worlds, I can be totally deaf when I want, and hear when I want. Wouldn't change a thing! And as for the aids, they even come in race-car colors now! Next time I get one (hopefully this one will last for years to come) I'm getting pearl/silver with a white mold. LOL
The deaf kids I worked with would get 2 marbled colors to make them more fun. A lot of them had the very good hearing aids that were almost as effective as the cochlial implant.
@RiverBirch1967 It's been over 10 years ago now. I did VBS for deaf kids in the summer and once a week after school we had a Bible program for them. It was a great deal of work, but decidedly wonderful to do. :-)
@sainter1 That necklace is actually a stone placed in silver. I like what you said about it looking like a perfume bottle. :) As for the mold, it's not uncomfortable at all.
Aww.. why did you chicken out? Go with whatever color you like and the hell what others think, he he. At least glad you got a new mold, I need to get mine, too even tho I got 'em a few months ago. I didn't like that place how they did with molds so will go to a different place later on.
@RiverBirch1967 Yep, it moves a little especially too hard like a rock so it hurts if I leave it on for hours. Is your mold hard as rock or what, I wonder?
@seekgeo Mine is very flexible and therefore fits snug and tight, but does not hurt at all. I cannot feel it. The one prior to it was very hard, like you describe, so this time I asked for a softer one. Also, being much more flexible, it means it moves with the ear, in flexibility, so there is no irritation, pain, or outside noise coming in. Ask them about that. I cannot recall what the material is, but they will know It cost $80.

It's a snug fit isn't it? Fantastic and all but invisible. How does it feel to the ear?
I like your chunky silver jewelry - What kind of necklace are you wearing? It looks like a little perfume bottle. :)

@sainter1 It feels like nothing is there. :)
