Sad, Most burmese assimilate into american culture too much. They totally lose their language abilties and fail to pass down to their next generation.
This series is awesome who better to learn from than our elders. I would like to see one video on traditional Native American foods we have wonderful culinary traditions as well. But I do adore cooking Asian foods.
I miss my grandma. She was the best cook, and I used to watch mine all the time. Replicating their recipes on the spot can be a challenge in itself. Your grandma seems like a sweet old lady:) and the food looks delicious.
this video is alrite rather than just recipes in words but if u know general knowledge of how to make the curry or if uve eaten it before....and u forgot how to make it then this vid is great
Alvina, thanks so much for posting that, my dad's Burmese and that's just like going to my Nans and watching her cook!! I love it.. I love the Burmese style of cooking so natural and fresh.. YUM
The food looks delicious, and I love the interaction between the grandmother and her granddaughter. However, in terms of this being instructional in any way, I have to say this food is not very good. I'd like to try the recipe, but from this video I wouldn't even know where to start...

Do you guys know the song in the background?
halfacig 2 years ago
The background song is probably a song sung by Winn Oo, a popular 1960s Burmese singer who was the Elvis of Burmese music back then.
More recipes from Grandma Alvina please! She's so cute! Yum. Shrimp curry is one of my favorite dishes!
Please add the list of ingredients and measurements as well!!! It's hard to follow when the measurements aren't indicated.

I meant to say the "video is not very good" in terms of the instructional quality...not the "food". Oops!
