Forcing everyone in the country to pay money they don't have for over priced insurance with no cap on how much they can be charged under penalty of jail time or further government fines (they cannot pay) is just about the dumbest thing you could possibly do.
We all know that little gem was added by the republicans. We also know that if it passes they will be out campaigning against their own poison pill.
I hear Japan is nice this time of year. Republicans have doomed the U.S.A. to failure.
Who else couldn't focus on ANYTHING Kuscinich was saying because of the just say "yea" thing.... I don't know, I can't think about politics while also viewing something that stupid >.>
The bill has a HUGE fundamental flaw with the mandate, and saying it's going to cover 37 million people is like saying a mandate to buy homes is going to lower poverty. It doesn't work that way!
Yet I'm also not on board for trashing the whole bill, especially since it can be amended, and states can try to strongly exercise their rights by removing the mandate....if that's possible..
Idk, this is why Obama shouldn't have caved early on.
While I truly adimire Kucinich principles, passion and conviction...at some point there needs to be compromise.
We have been fighting this battle for 50+ years....and while the plan is not "perfect" it's better than nothing at all.
The way I see it, if the insurance companies don't "play ball" and they won't...than that give us in MORE incentive to move to a single payer plan. Unfortnuately we don't have the votes behind it to do it now......
The funny thing is, the mandate is what's unconstitutional about the bill, and the mandate WAS A REPUBLICAN IDEA.
These republicans are ACTING like they're fighting something that was their fault to begin with! Fucking terrorists...

We need a STRONG PUBLIC OPTION in the final biil that President Obama signs into law.
Also, all the help for Americans should take effect IMMEDIATELY upon passage.

I see Kucinich losing his seat over this stand. I don't know if I agree with him or not, but I don't think it's a winning position.

I respect the reasons behind kucinich's opinion, jut not sure he's right about this
