love this band! Robert Mason's voice is amamzing. Funny watching this video though. I have seen many drummers playing open handed style, left hand on high hat thing, but this is the first time I've seen anyone playing that way with a tradional grip, not matching grip. Just looks odd, but I guess he's comfortable with it so que sera sera
@dgn4369 this isn't Robert Mason, it's Kelly Holland. There is a HUGE difference in both vocalists. I think K. Holland is far better suited to this sound and band.
I've loved this band since they emerged. I love both albums and both singers are awesome by their own right!! Come back you guys! I'll sing for you if you need a singer!
these guys rocked in wilmington,n.c. i can remember them playing at the mad monk and bringin the house down ! it looks like parts of this video was at the monk, what an awesome group of guys!
Can someone find out why Kelly Holland, the singer here and on the "Brother" album, their first, left the band before they could follow it up? I've never heard a single explanation or found or found one online. I loved this band dearly and have never gotten over Kelly leaving. I would like to know why he did before I die.
@rkeime1 Thanks for passing the word. I saw them once, too: Fresno, California, early '94. They sounded just like the cd sounded: stripped-down, pure, righteous blues rock. But there were some disappointing things about it. They came on way, way late -- I guessed they had gotten lost -- and the opening bands were pathetic; people even threw beer at one group, & no apologies were made. Other than their sound, there was a real amateur vibe about the business part of it. Ominous, maybe.
@jimirymodestoca well i know Jason Patterson very well, ive never really asked him about his time with cry of love but the next time i see him ill bring it up and see what he has to say about Kelly, hes always been a kind hearted great guy and wont be biased im sure
@doolb666 Hey, man, I just took a look at your channel page and saw that you're a metal man; I didn't mean any offense with the funk thing. -Take care-
This song effin' rocks. Hell, all of Brother rocks. Too bad this line up didn't make more music.
