Wow - i have only just bought ArtRage and now have a Wacom Bamboo - so extremely new to digital painting. I do know where to put the shadows and colours, but I am just not as free and intuitive as this. But hey - I'll just keep practising. I will try to emulate this, put in blocks of tone and then worry about the detail later. 20 years since I did my degree and now I teach maths - so will just keep trying. Thanks
@goodtimegwyn Guess I should upload some more vids. Artrage is a great program (and cheap). It's an excellent alternative to Painter if your just starting in digital painting. Everyone becomes a teacher at some point:)
it's half as complex. more like painter classic than photoshop. The new version has some nice qualities - layers, photoshop like layer modifiers, stencils,. It would be nice if they had a watercolor simulated brush instead of the glitter which is useless.

There's no such thing as a program that does this for you. There is photo-editing software, but there's no such program that paints FOR you.
