Ive had to spereate them because Mojo has been hurting Marley for what I think must be territorial reasons. Ive had Mojo for a while now and no matter much I handle him he still does anything to try and bite! Would you have any advice? :] Thanks
@MrBunburyBobsleigh How old is Mojo and when was the last time he saw a vet? Adrenal Disease can cause aggression in ferrets due to increased hormone levels. Or has he always been aggressive with him? And is it biting to the point where the other one is bleeding, pooping on himself? Because if it isn't well, that's just how ferrets play. They love to wrestle and bite eachother.

I'm not to sure of how old he is because I found him in an alleyway in the back of our house with his brother, I allready had Marley at the time, and sadly Mojo's brother did not make it, but I have been to the vet who has give me a different feed and he has been so much friendlier since, and luckily he is 100% healthy (but fat xD) ferret :] Thankyou!!

lol, i tought my ferret roy how to jump from a chair on a table. and how i did that was i held him and make him look like he was jumping and he got what i was doing then i put him on the chair and he did it but now i wish i never did that because he jumps on everything

You have to realize, you need a lot of stuff. A cage, bedding, litter pan, scooper, litter, food, brush, nail clippers, toys, a hideout, sleeper, shampoo, ferret lax in case he eats something foreign, ear cleaner. Then there's the stuff you might also need like a leash and a harness for fresh air.
@YoungJeezy1122 There is NOTHING cheap about ferret ownership so please do NOT get one! Ferrets are prone to lots of diseases as they age - Adrenal Disease, Insulinoma, Lymphoma, Cardiomyopathy. And with few vets treating ferrets once they get sick getting them the treatment they need is EXPENSIVE. I spent THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS last year on vet bills.
@Ferretocious Yeah, she's pretty calm in crazy situations. She'll continue sleeping when we open the door to her carrier, and prod her to wake her up. She also stays calm in the bath. It's a good thing we have cats to stimulate her though :P

@Demoon555666 You can't. These diseases are pretty much genetic. You should nEVER allow ferrets to free roam when you're not home. I've known several people who've come home to find their ferrets DEAD - falling behind a dresser and breaking its neck struggling to get loose, climbing up somewhere far too high and falling, another broke its leg so bad catching it on something and must have been struggling to get loose for some time. Get them a good quality cage and keep them SAFE when not home
@Ferretocious Ouch , that sucks :( they should have ferret proofed their house. I take extra procautions to make sure they cannot get anywhere where they can get hurt ie. Dressers Closets fridge stove, desks, the only thing they can climb on are my couches and my bed. i could never lock them up like a rodent. Heh, one of my girls (Twitch) goes mental when I flip her on her back and tickle her belly. The other (Fidget) gets grouchy when you do that, but she loves to be thrown on her back and be spun round and round in circles. i've wanted a ferret for 18 years since my friend had one swifty. I've been think about again lately But i feel i need to educate myself a bit more before making the decision. I unlike some am a responsible pet owner (i have 2 cats now).
Tickling the belly doesn't work with my ferret Kiki. She's got 2 ways, though- either scratching along the base of her spine or pinning her on her back and having a play-battle with her.

It was Christmastime. That's from IKEA. They're LED lights with these star-shaped plastic covers over the lights. Johnny Rotten's been the only one that bites at them - pulls the stars off. I'd find the stars under my bed like oh, May LOL
my three lil fuzzies love this especially Rambo, the big bully. Von not so much, speaking of Von I have no clue how old he is since he was a stray. My clues that he is much older than Dewq and Rambo is that he doesnt like play much, is super mellow, kinda chubby now(was skinny), and has thin fur. My other two are...lets just say insane and poofy. I suspected adrenal disease but i have had him since February and he still looks the same and the vet didnt say anything about it.
Really funny video! :D But this thing doesnt work on our ferret. Shes just so nice on everyone. Shes so small and old. 6 years :) But shes cute and she loves to play with out dogs! She loves to steal tissues and hide them behind the furniture. We have to warn all guests on it, because shes little burglar, she steals it even from closed hanbad! I just got a ferret...he's just a kit...we named him Freddy...he's our first ever and I'm having a blast with him...if you search on YouTube under my name or ferret/boston terrier, you can see him and my dog playing together...it's so cute!

You thought of the name Puck? That's one of my ferrets. Careful what you name your ferret, though. They definitely live up to their names. "Johnny Rotten" was a seriously obsessed computer mouse thief that destroyed half a dozen of them LOL And "Puck" named for the mischievous sprite in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is the naughtiest of my gang now.
They can live 8-10 years but most die earlier than that to cardiomyopathy, lymphoma, adrenal disease or insulinoma. I haven't had one live past 6 1/2 and lost my two eldest earliest this year to lymphoma.
Oh man, you're so right on. My ferret looooves it when I tickle her belly. She'll get all excited and hops around dooking, then when she thinks I'm losing interest, she'll speed bump in front of me and roll over on her back to get me to tickle her again!

Have you researched what it takes to care for one? They're very high maintenance pets. They need SEVERAL hours of out of cage time every day. They need their litterboxes cleaned every day. They need their bedding washed about once a week. And once they age they're susceptible to lots of diseases - lymphoma, adrenal disease, insulinoma, cardiomyopathy. Vets treated ferrets are few and far between so taking care of them once they're sick can be VERY expensive. RESEARCH!
Yeah, my ferret sometimes doesn't work very well either. It's probably some technical glitch or simply casual wear but yeah. I'll give this a try and hopefully he won't be malfunctioning as much! :D

Tickling the belly doesn't work with my ferret Kiki. She's got 2 ways, though- either scratching along the base of her spine or pinning her on her back and having a play-battle with her.

@cutecutecuteist Pan is the sweetest of sweet. He immediately goes to my feet and rolls on them when he comes out of the cage. He'll do that till I pick them up then he kisses my face like mad :)

@LissaH1996 That's a ferret for ya! When you hold them up like that they often get sleepy - even if you're not scruffing them. I picked up Pan like this the other day and sat him down next to my boyfriend and Pan just laid there looking like he was going to snooze the rest of the night away LOL

I do that to my Deaf Ferret she goes nuts. I thought it was something she did cus she was deaf. My Ferret I had before did not do that. Guess Lucy was not ticklish

I hadn't read the book and the movie came out right after I named him. His full name is "Pandamonium" - a play on Panda, his colouring and "pandemonium" since he's such a little spaz LOL

yeah sorry about that, I read the date as 2009, then realized my mistake after posting and couldn't find my comment to reply to.
I went by the MSPCA (if I remember correctly you used to live in mass so maybe you've been there) and they had two ferrets who had been found as strays and the girl was wicked skinny and the boy had blood/crust coming out of his ear :(
I wanted to take them home and love them but my father does not agree.

It was Christmastime. That's from IKEA. They're LED lights with these star-shaped plastic covers over the lights. Johnny Rotten's been the only one that bites at them - pulls the stars off. I'd find the stars under my bed like oh, May LOL

my three lil fuzzies love this especially Rambo, the big bully. Von not so much, speaking of Von I have no clue how old he is since he was a stray. My clues that he is much older than Dewq and Rambo is that he doesnt like play much, is super mellow, kinda chubby now(was skinny), and has thin fur. My other two are...lets just say insane and poofy. I suspected adrenal disease but i have had him since February and he still looks the same and the vet didnt say anything about it.

Really funny video! :D But this thing doesnt work on our ferret. Shes just so nice on everyone. Shes so small and old. 6 years :) But shes cute and she loves to play with out dogs! She loves to steal tissues and hide them behind the furniture. We have to warn all guests on it, because shes little burglar, she steals it even from closed hanbad! I never figured out how can she feel, that theres a pack of tissues in that bag. :))

I just got a ferret...he's just a kit...we named him Freddy...he's our first ever and I'm having a blast with him...if you search on YouTube under my name or ferret/boston terrier, you can see him and my dog playing together...it's so cute!

You thought of the name Puck? That's one of my ferrets. Careful what you name your ferret, though. They definitely live up to their names. "Johnny Rotten" was a seriously obsessed computer mouse thief that destroyed half a dozen of them LOL And "Puck" named for the mischievous sprite in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is the naughtiest of my gang now.

They can live 8-10 years but most die earlier than that to cardiomyopathy, lymphoma, adrenal disease or insulinoma. I haven't had one live past 6 1/2 and lost my two eldest earliest this year to lymphoma.

Oh man, you're so right on. My ferret looooves it when I tickle her belly. She'll get all excited and hops around dooking, then when she thinks I'm losing interest, she'll speed bump in front of me and roll over on her back to get me to tickle her again!

Have you researched what it takes to care for one? They're very high maintenance pets. They need SEVERAL hours of out of cage time every day. They need their litterboxes cleaned every day. They need their bedding washed about once a week. And once they age they're susceptible to lots of diseases - lymphoma, adrenal disease, insulinoma, cardiomyopathy. Vets treated ferrets are few and far between so taking care of them once they're sick can be VERY expensive. RESEARCH!

Hahaha! I used to do this with my ferret, Kita, before we were forced to rehome him. It would get him raring to go for some play time after he'd just woken up!
