This kind of misrepresentation of the Scriptures is exactly why atheists have such an easy time attacking Christianity. Why doesn't Dr. Geisler give the BIBLICAL reason for the "purpose of hell"? The fleshly mind may not like the answer, but it is certainly better (and much more accurate) than Dr. Geisler's strained theology. The truthful answer to "purpose of hell" is found in Romans 9:22-24.
@rkg62976 "What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?" (Rom.9:22-24, ESV).
God "desires to show his wrath and make his power known"!
This is not the "all-love-hippie-Jesus" of the '60's.
