Hello guys.Hope that you'll pay attention to my comment. I'd like to have an ability to work with multiple midi tracks like in trackers.Watch how it looks in sonar for example. It would be much easy to work with textures. For example it's very hard to write breakcore or idm or hard idm with 180-440 BPM when i want to "sync" beat with synths and other sound so i copy beat structure and put into synth's piano roll then work with it. It works but i spend too much time to make it sound how i like.
Check this track! I've been using FL Stuidio for a year now. Still struggle with mastering. Turns out too low once I apply limiter to master channel Any help would be appreciated!
I also use fl studios for my songs/beats. Its a quite amazing program and also the easiest one. I have uploaded my best songs on youtube (made by FL studios), you can check them out on my channel if you are interrested.
@imageline AWESOME! The search results on Google and Youtube for "FL Studio ACID" show how to make acid tracks in FL Studio. Could you point me to a tutorial that simply shows how to import ACID wavs into FL Studio? I'm so eager to migrate over from ACID. :)
I've just downloaded the vengance pack but I can't change the note length of synths and basses and other sounds, could anyone tell me how to do that? Changing their length in the pianoroll doesn't work.
@Housecpzombie - You are playing Samples. So their length is largely determined by their original recorded length. However there are ways around this including using the stretch feature on the sampler channel. Drop into Looptalk for more support.
@Housecpzombie On the Channel settings window under 'Precomputed effects' turn the CRF dial all the way to the right, now that note will be as long or as short as you need it! [:
I was wondering how you can make your tracks to fade in and out. I mean like in trance music that you have some instruments fading in and out so that switch between instruments would be more "natural".
I hope that you understand what I mean. Could someone answer please? ^_^
hey I'm trying to unlock my fl studio fruity edition but I can't find the flregkey. I already registered it too. What do i do after i find the flregkey?
Log into your Image-Line account. On the right hand side of your account page, you will see a list of your registered products. Click on the FL Studio Fruity Edition, click the reg key download icon, save it to your desktop. Double click the file on your desktop and allow it to add to your registry. Open up FL Studio and the demo should be unlocked.
@sIck0o7 - Please log into your account and download your FLRegkey.Reg file and install it. If you are having problems please post in the techsupport forum
Err maybe you forgot to register your licensed Plugins ? You have to download your registration key and merge it to the Windows registry, that i one click.
it seems one click is even too difficult for some, go use your cracked Cubase and leave us alone.
@Dantexshadows - FL Studio Demo is free to use. It has only one restriction, you can't open saved projects until you buy the program. You can render to audio however. We have a sale on at the moment, see our channel's featured video.

i would probably still be using fl studio instead of reason cos there so much stuff in there i love and miss. i just hate the way you have to create various patterns and automation 'clips' when you want to do anything and it all seems to become really jumbled up and tedious the more complex a song gets. reason seems so much smoother to me in terms of layout and workflow. im sure a lot of people will disagree though, im not saying reason's better, it's just better for me tbh

Fl Studio is one of the most incredible programs I've ever seen! Straight from the box it could create an entire music festival featuring pop, rock, rap, country, symphony, trance, you name it! I am not a professional musician. In fact, I can't hit a right note on a guitar or piano. But with FL Studio, I have created some pieces that amaze my family and friends.
I'm taking in all the tutorials I can find, learning more every day. Perhaps I will soon change careers to become a famous composer.
with fl studio can u use it as a recording studio where u can use vocals and record high quality songs or rapss or is it specifically for beats.... please answer!
I recently switched from Reason to FL Studio. I'm convinced the only people who trash FL are Reason users who've never even used it. I know this because I used to be one of them.
Reason is decent, but it just doesn't compare to FL. It's not even close.
@PiratGeneralen - It's just you claimed it was more 'professional'. Today some of the most professional tools are available as VST plugins. Any professional would like to use the standard set of tools they are used to, not be constrained by the host program. You use Reason you have to use (and buy) what they give you. Yes they are very good quality tools, but a professional likes to bring his own, in our experience.
@PiratGeneralen Thats really a myth. It is like that since it used to be called Fruity loops, and it used to be way less useful, but it truly is one of the best DAWs out there today. It's all personal taste though, and its not how you get there, but how it looks when you're done.

@TheNCMusicChannel - Check the section in the manual "Introduction to FL Studio > Using FL Studio" - There's also a nice series by ste1438 - Search for "Video 01 - FL Studio Tutorials Beginner to Pro"
@TheNCMusicChannel - Welcome. I suggest you get onto Looptalk, our user forums. There's a lot of helpful people and activity. In the .flp exchange (FL Studio project) there's a lot of projects from fellow users to download and pick apart. How long? I am sure you will be making stuff you like within days :)
@TheNCMusicChannel - go to image-line[d o t]com and 'forums' is one of the menu items. Looptalk is the main forum. BTW: It's the same website where you registered your program.
@kurklazarus It's called exchange of opinions (a.k.a debate) but I assume you haven't got in touch with something like that, as it appears your opinion is the only possible.
Guys, I grew up with FL 2 and 3 which at that time offered increadible simplicity and workflow. However, FL did sound a little bit flat and no matter how I enriched the sound, it was still obvious the track was done on software. So I moved to Reason. Now I came back to see how my high-school software evolved but I have to say I'm not amazed a little bit. Adding more and more features just doesn't make it any better when the sound is still flat...sorry guys (and you lost your simplicity as well)
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - You will have to give us some more information here, last time we checked FL Studio processed audio transparently and has no sound. You get out what you put in. With over 400,000 registered users and 20,000 demo downloads *a day* we must be doing something right.
@imageline Of course, don't get me wrong. I never said FL was a crap. My point was, that by trying to match with the leading high-class software like Ableton Live!, Reason or Sonar, you've lost your supremacy in the middle-class.
And as for me, I'm currently moving to iPad music creation where there is a bunch of promising middle-class software which combined together allows similar output the high-class software offers but for the tenth of the price ;-).
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - - You know, (misguided) people have been telling us for the last 11 years our business model (Free Updates) is wrong or we wouldn't last. We'll we recently passed 400,000+ registered users and get 20,000 demo downloads *a day*. We are growing faster than ever. Enjoy your iPad.
@imageline Mate I didn't come to argue, just to give my opinion, however, I can see that "400,000+ reg. users and 20,000 demo downloads a day" is your total argument for everything. Let me put these numbers in another perspective. If you got 400,00 registered users in 11 years, it's not that much (even though I congratulate you) and the demo downloads say nothing more than that people are curious about your product. No doubt about it, it looks awesome -> but...you know what I would answer...
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - Most of those 400K have been added in the last 3 years. Our point is that our user-base is expanding at a faster rate than ever. It's easy to be an armchair critic. FWIW, good luck with your iPad applications, we haven't found any yet worth more than 10 minutes of fun time. Sit down and try to make serious music with them? The iPad just doesn't have the CPU power.
@imageline True, true, it can't compare with desktops or notebooks, but I remember I used to make music on my 166 Mhz MMX Pentium ;-). Fruity Loops 2 was quite ok for this and I even made the first Reason to work on that mashine ;-). And iPad Apps are evolving pretty fast you know. I could recommed you NanoStation, Beatmaker, iSequence, Electrify, noise.io or Nlog synth. If you know how to combine these together, it gives you pretty much good sound and UI for live shows. Check them out.
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - Ultimate advantage? Lifetime FREE updates. Why waste $199 every 12 months paying for bug-fixes? Our customers will get FL10, 11, 12...etc free. It's been working for over 10 years now, why stop :)
@imageline Well, now I'm gonna be a little bad. What you say is absolutely brilliant and I agree that every developer in the world should follow your example, however, I must ensure you that when people are buying a musical software, it's not for what benefits they get (at least not primarily) but for what the software does. Please, tell me then, what technological or sound superiority FL Studio has over the competition? As this is what concerns me the most (and the customers as well).
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - FL Studio has a creative work-flow like no other. It consistently impresses reviewers with the speed at which ideas can be made a musical reality. "what technological or sound superiority". Brace yourself. ALL music production software platforms don't have a 'sound'. You should get out what you put in. I suggest you google an article we wrote "Audio Myths & DAW Wars".
@imageline I don't think we would agree on this one. You might offer a better workflow then Reason and similar to Sonar or Pro Tools but you can't compare with Ableton Live!, which is so god damn intuitive and far ahead of all the competition. And sorry, but I don't even agree on the sound statement. To make a good sound it needs a proper "enrichment" and there are dozen of methods. That software, that offers the most of them, outputs the best sound. That's how I perceive it.
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - That's the point it's your opinion. Many people prefer FL Studio over Live and will say the exact opposite so what does that tell you? Everyone is different. If you prefer Live, that's great. FL Studio is more than a match for live in the "sound enrichment' area. Again we suggest you google an article we wrote "Audio Myths & DAW Wars".
@imageline Yeah, I see both of us stand for our opinions and don't intend to move a little. Anyway, it was a nice talk ;-). And for your information, I'm not an Ableton Live! user (at least not yet) but rather a Reason user. However, it's lack of an up to date user interface and smoother workflow makes me consider moving somewhere else and that's basically what brought me here to put you under such spotlight of questions and doubts ;-). Cheers and good luck in further development.
@imageline Oh and I almost forgot the famous Korg iElectribe that has been remade for the iPad. Truth is it doesn't have the copy/paste option so I can work with it's files only through export -> iTunes -> import, which is lame but not impossible. However, speaking of competition, what would you describe as the ultimate advantage of FL Studio over Ableton Live!, Sonar and Reason?
this progam is soo confusing, btw people before yu buy it juss download the demo first to see if its for yu... its a bit complicated... im just giving yu a heads up before yu go and waste yur money
@zevemia - With flexibility comes some level of complexity. All professional music production suites necessarily have a learning curve. FL Studio is worth the reasonable climb.
I did like FL when I used it, but the one thing I didn't really like was the mixer. Honestly, put something like Cubase's mixer (+the routing and buses and all that) into FL studio and (in my opinion) it'll be so much better.
There is no Mac version of FL Studio. What you can do is use a program like Boot Camp, install Windows, and FL Studio can be used on that Windows portion.
@FLStudioDiscount, please don't make one. I'm so sick of year and years of mac fanboys saying you need a mac to make excellent music based on their misconceptions of ImAMac commercials. If they did get it, they'd just turn around and try to say it was better somehow (even if it made no sense). Also if great recording software can run under windows 7, it's good news for all people, because you can always get faster/more hardware for less money, as it should be.
There are a variety of editions you can look into, priced differently so you have options. You can always upgrade later to a more feature rich edition.
i have the demo of fl studio 9 and when playing music or anything in it it seems to occasionaly make a crackling sound. Im worried if i buy the software this will continue to happen, will it? or will it go away with a better soundcard? there would be no problems with my actual computer because it is relatively new and 2.80GhZ
Go to Options (top left toolbar in FL Studio), Audio Settings, then click the large "Show ASIO Panel". You may or may not have that button, but either way, you will find a slider. Slide it to the right a bit to increase the buffer size. Try increasing until the crackling stops.
If you go to the FL Studio Image-Line website (just google: FL Studio), look at the top banner for a Demo download link. Try it out and see if you like it. Be sure to check out the videos here on ImageLine's youtube channel for tips and help. You can find an instant discount for FL Studio in my youtube channel if you decide to purchase it. Feel free to message me if you have more questions.
Yep FL Studio is the best software you can buy with that money... I mean, 400 Dollars? Thats nothing... If you are going to buy a midi controller, you spend at least 200 dollars, and sometimes isnt what you expect...
FL Studio at least offers you a demo that has all the features enabled, except the saving project... Reason quits after 20 minutes and doesnt even let export ...
Hey if anyone wants to make a 15 or 20 second opening thme song for my channel that would be awesome. You don't have to use fl studio. But I'm just sayin. Message me!
@KINGOFSMILEZ as some have said, when it was worth it, I didn't have any problem in buying it (it was cheap anyway). Now I don't want to buy its expensive updates, but I don't get them from torrents either. Isn't this something you call "respect"? I could easily get everything for free, of course. I just don't want it. One of the reasons why I think FL isn't the best is exactly its way of thinking that they're the best. No, they aren't. And this is not a gratuituous flaming on FL.
@imageline ok I should have said "add-ons" or "extras" instead. But I do remember when IL almost killed the "for life" updates... it was in v. 3.0 or something, in the big update when you had to kind of re-buy a new license to get the "for life" updates - which were an option in previous versions already, if my memory still works. Still, I think it's more important when I said that I don't "get it all for free" no matter what than these minor semantics details.
@mtsn - When we added audio-recording we also added producer edition to the line-up. We promise to give you the version you buy free for the life of FL Studio. Since then those that upgraded to producer got 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 absolutely free. Those that didn't have had Fruity Edition 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 free. 10, 11, 12...will be free. I don't think we have anything here to be ashamed of. We are looking after our customers. What we don't do is make you pay for features you don't need/want.
When I bought it (2001?), still in the 2.7 version, it was worth its price and some of the extras weren't that expensive. Now it's way too expensive if you really want to get everything, and there are better solutions within this price range. Still good though, but too expensive nowadays.
mtsn is talking simply because by doing so he thinks we'll think highly if him and perceive him as an expert. i don;t wanna be mean, but he just wants to be another negative commentator. in reality, FL 9 is the best and most complete solution you can get for the money. And sometimes....you may even pay more, but still not get more...! Respect ImageLine!
There's a new community group started ..the community is called Stagepass Connect. Google it. (note this is not Stagepas the Yamaha product....this one has 2 s at the end)
fl studio is the best !!!! I know alot of people who use reason and other programs but ...well . okay its not what you have its what you do with it. check out my beat!
It depends on the edition you want to purchase. You can go to my channel to find an instant 10% discount link to the Image-Line shop. You can then see the different editions, what their features are and how much they cost (with the discount applied). i.e. Producer Edition is 199 originally but with the discount link it is 179.
You can re-name and color channels, patterns, tracks and mixer channels. Just right click them and click rename. You will see a small color square in the rename box. Right click to generate a random color. Left click to bring up more colors.
Do you enjoy FL Studio, did you try the demo? Want to get FL Studio 9.0.3 (LATEST) full version for free? Well now you can, visit here /watch?v=9H9RrOit7ps or go to my channel and watch the video from there. Enjoy
let me get this strait; to record a song you need a beat making program(fl studio) and also a voice recording program and an editing one, or does fl studio do it all?
FL Studio can record and edit those recordings. You don't need another program for that. FL Studio can do it all. Just be sure to purchase Producer edition or the Signature Bundle for the recording feature, for which you can find a Discount in my channel.
Deadmau5 is just one of several great artists who use FL Studio. Check out the "Power Users" page under "Misc" tab on the Image-Line website. Interviews can also be found there.
For example, the recent video game Mass Effect 2 includes music made with FL Studio, composed by Jimmy Hinson.
That's the future right there! maybe not too professional and not so many famous musicians use FL Studio. But I'm pretty sure in the next 2-3 years it'll be on the same level with pro tools!
Hello guys.Hope that you'll pay attention to my comment. I'd like to have an ability to work with multiple midi tracks like in trackers.Watch how it looks in sonar for example. @imageline That is a very good question:

ofc there is probably some good vst plugs out there that costs like a car but who wants to buy them if you allready have good synths.

@PiratGeneralen - It's just you claimed it was more 'professional'. Today some of the most professional tools are available as VST plugins. @imageline Its basicly a matter of money and convenience, if i buy an program that

kurklazarus 1 year ago
@kurklazarus It's called exchange of opinions (a.k.a debate) but I assume you haven't got in touch with something like that, as it appears your opinion is the only possible.
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
Guys, I grew up with FL 2 and 3 which at that time offered increadible simplicity and workflow. However, FL did sound a little bit flat and no matter how I enriched the sound, it was still obvious the track was done on software. So I moved to Reason. Now I came back to see how my high-school software evolved but I have to say I'm not amazed a little bit. Adding more and more features just doesn't make it any better when the sound is still flat...sorry guys (and you lost your simplicity as well)
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - You will have to give us some more information here, last time we checked FL Studio processed audio transparently and has no sound. You get out what you put in. With over 400,000 registered users and 20,000 demo downloads *a day* we must be doing something right.
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline Of course, don't get me wrong. I never said FL was a crap. My point was, that by trying to match with the leading high-class software like Ableton Live!, Reason or Sonar, you've lost your supremacy in the middle-class.
And as for me, I'm currently moving to iPad music creation where there is a bunch of promising middle-class software which combined together allows similar output the high-class software offers but for the tenth of the price ;-).
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - - You know, (misguided) people have been telling us for the last 11 years our business model (Free Updates) is wrong or we wouldn't last. We'll we recently passed 400,000+ registered users and get 20,000 demo downloads *a day*. We are growing faster than ever. Enjoy your iPad.
imageline 12 seconds ago
imageline 1 year ago 2
@imageline Mate I didn't come to argue, just to give my opinion, however, I can see that "400,000+ reg. users and 20,000 demo downloads a day" is your total argument for everything. Let me put these numbers in another perspective. If you got 400,00 registered users in 11 years, it's not that much (even though I congratulate you) and the demo downloads say nothing more than that people are curious about your product. No doubt about it, it looks awesome -> but...you know what I would answer...
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - Most of those 400K have been added in the last 3 years. Our point is that our user-base is expanding at a faster rate than ever. It's easy to be an armchair critic. FWIW, good luck with your iPad applications, we haven't found any yet worth more than 10 minutes of fun time. Sit down and try to make serious music with them? The iPad just doesn't have the CPU power.
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline True, true, it can't compare with desktops or notebooks, but I remember I used to make music on my 166 Mhz MMX Pentium ;-). Fruity Loops 2 was quite ok for this and I even made the first Reason to work on that mashine ;-). And iPad Apps are evolving pretty fast you know. I could recommed you NanoStation, Beatmaker, iSequence, Electrify, noise.io or Nlog synth. If you know how to combine these together, it gives you pretty much good sound and UI for live shows. Check them out.
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - Ultimate advantage? Lifetime FREE updates. Why waste $199 every 12 months paying for bug-fixes? Our customers will get FL10, 11, 12...etc free. It's been working for over 10 years now, why stop :)
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline Well, now I'm gonna be a little bad. What you say is absolutely brilliant and I agree that every developer in the world should follow your example, however, I must ensure you that when people are buying a musical software, it's not for what benefits they get (at least not primarily) but for what the software does. Please, tell me then, what technological or sound superiority FL Studio has over the competition? As this is what concerns me the most (and the customers as well).
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - FL Studio has a creative work-flow like no other. It consistently impresses reviewers with the speed at which ideas can be made a musical reality. "what technological or sound superiority". Brace yourself. ALL music production software platforms don't have a 'sound'. You should get out what you put in. I suggest you google an article we wrote "Audio Myths & DAW Wars".
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline I don't think we would agree on this one. You might offer a better workflow then Reason and similar to Sonar or Pro Tools but you can't compare with Ableton Live!, which is so god damn intuitive and far ahead of all the competition. And sorry, but I don't even agree on the sound statement. To make a good sound it needs a proper "enrichment" and there are dozen of methods. That software, that offers the most of them, outputs the best sound. That's how I perceive it.
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@FrantisekSmrckaIII - That's the point it's your opinion. Many people prefer FL Studio over Live and will say the exact opposite so what does that tell you? Everyone is different. If you prefer Live, that's great. FL Studio is more than a match for live in the "sound enrichment' area. Again we suggest you google an article we wrote "Audio Myths & DAW Wars".
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline Yeah, I see both of us stand for our opinions and don't intend to move a little. Anyway, it was a nice talk ;-). And for your information, I'm not an Ableton Live! user (at least not yet) but rather a Reason user. However, it's lack of an up to date user interface and smoother workflow makes me consider moving somewhere else and that's basically what brought me here to put you under such spotlight of questions and doubts ;-). Cheers and good luck in further development.
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
@imageline Oh and I almost forgot the famous Korg iElectribe that has been remade for the iPad. Truth is it doesn't have the copy/paste option so I can work with it's files only through export -> iTunes -> import, which is lame but not impossible. However, speaking of competition, what would you describe as the ultimate advantage of FL Studio over Ableton Live!, Sonar and Reason?
FrantisekSmrckaIII 1 year ago
this progam is soo confusing, btw people before yu buy it juss download the demo first to see if its for yu... its a bit complicated... im just giving yu a heads up before yu go and waste yur money

@zevemia - With flexibility comes some level of complexity. All professional music production suites necessarily have a learning curve. FL Studio is worth the reasonable climb.

monstaflowmonarchs 1 year ago
I did like FL when I used it, but the one thing I didn't really like was the mixer. Honestly, put something like Cubase's mixer (+the routing and buses and all that) into FL studio and (in my opinion) it'll be so much better.

can u get this for mac?
ChappazNUFC 1 year ago
@ChappazNUFC
There is no Mac version of FL Studio. What you can do is use a program like Boot Camp, install Windows, and FL Studio can be used on that Windows portion.
FLStudioDiscount 1 year ago
@FLStudioDiscount, please don't make one. I'm so sick of year and years of mac fanboys saying you need a mac to make excellent music based on their misconceptions of ImAMac commercials. If they did get it, they'd just turn around and try to say it was better somehow (even if it made no sense). Also if great recording software can run under windows 7, it's good news for all people, because you can always get faster/more hardware for less money, as it should be.

i have the demo of fl studio 9 and when playing music or anything in it it seems to occasionaly make a crackling sound. Im worried if i buy the software this will continue to happen, will it? or will it go away with a better soundcard? there would be no problems with my actual computer because it is relatively new and 2.80GhZ
fadermatrix92 1 year ago
@fadermatrix92
Go to Options (top left toolbar in FL Studio), Audio Settings, then click the large "Show ASIO Panel". You may or may not have that button, but either way, you will find a slider. Slide it to the right a bit to increase the buffer size. Try increasing until the crackling stops.

Also the lifetime free updates make it even a better buy. And Signature isn't even $400, it's under $300.
FLStudioDiscount 1 year ago
Yep FL Studio is the best software you can buy with that money... I mean, 400 Dollars? Thats nothing... If you are going to buy a midi controller, you spend at least 200 dollars, and sometimes isnt what you expect...
FL Studio at least offers you a demo that has all the features enabled, except the saving project... Reason quits after 20 minutes and doesnt even let export ...

And this is not a gratuituous flaming on FL.
mtsn 1 year ago
@mtsn - What expensive updates? FL Studio updates are FREE or a once off $39 if you bought the boxed version.
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline ok I should have said "add-ons" or "extras" instead. But I do remember when IL almost killed the "for life" updates... it was in v. 3.0 or something, in the big update when you had to kind of re-buy a new license to get the "for life" updates - which were an option in previous versions already, if my memory still works. Still, I think it's more important when I said that I don't "get it all for free" no matter what than these minor semantics details.
mtsn 1 year ago

Still good though, but too expensive nowadays.
mtsn 1 year ago
@mtsn - Care to name another program with the same features that you are thinking about for less?
imageline 1 year ago
@imageline,
mtsn is talking simply because by doing so he thinks we'll think highly if him and perceive him as an expert. i don;t wanna be mean, but he just wants to be another negative commentator. in reality, FL 9 is the best and most complete solution you can get for the money. And sometimes....you may even pay more, but still not get more...! Respect ImageLine!
