  • I'm probably in the minority here, but I hate Myria. I've beaten TMNT, Contra, all the Final Fantasys all the Dragon Quests, Hell, even the US Ninja Gaiden 3, yet Myria ALWAYS gives me trouble. I'm doing a BOF Marathon and realised why I hate Myria so much in this game. Partly for th 20 minutes of text you have to wade through to fight her.. Dragon Lord aint nuthin on this bitch. So yeah, I just got done dying and decided to just watch the ending. I HAVE beaten her legitimately...once.

  • I should've not watched this. Now all I think now is that Breath of Fire 3 is a really-really short and boring game. Now I'm getting lazy to play it at all.

    ---NO OFFENSE---

  • I loved this game. I loved its ending.

  • Woooowwww what a bad ending. ^^

  • it was sad cuz peco died and he is one of my favorite charaters on this game. the need to make an extended version for the ps3 so we can continue the game, right where it left off, to face a stronger Goddess or her children or something...

  • @mrball1604 he didnt die! he sprouted at the end!! lol

  • @akumauncitoru probably not a great idea to craft your worldview around a fictional videogame.l...Even if Disgaea and BOF3/4 are excellent RPGs...

  • @Veri7a I don't see how his world views were crafted around it, only that they affected him. The same way a strongly written book, or a powerful, well acted movie with morals can, or how a song can.

Art is art. You're going to have to accept that games are slowly transgressing that line.

  • Basically, Myria once watched over the planet, and saw as humans destroyed the planet and themselves. Because of War (probably nukes or something) most of the planet is covered in desert. Because Myria sat and watched it happen, she decided to make sure it never did again. She barred off the desert with the Ocean, removed machines from humans (so no more warfare), and destroyed the brood (to make sure the little life left didnt get destroyed.)

None of them were bad. Just a bit flawed.

  • Forgive me if I'm wrong, I ve played all the BOF's apart from this one.. How is this not the bad ending and the bad ending isn't the good ending??? I don't know the storyline it's confusing unless you played it.

  • @AliB247 How is this ending bad? Oh wait...you actually have to think. I tend to forget that people who don't like this ending don't like the idea of interpretation.

  • @roguegirl29 Sorry you seem to misunderstand... I ve never played BOF III and don't even know the storyline. To me the good ending looked bad and the bad ending looked good. I've played the other BOF's except for three. I was hoping someone could explain this one to me cause someone else explained the bad one to me before. But I love the way you judge intelligence off a video game... where's as I judge it off exams and studies. But if you know the game so well, you wouldn't be doing well in them

  • @AliB247 This ending is the good ending because Ryu decided to keep his power and fight for his right to live. He could have given up his power as a friend of his did but that wasnt really "living". The bad ending is the "bad" ending because he gave up his power and was locked away from the world in an artifical room that looked like a beautiful place, when in fact, he was alone, powerless, and had to live out the rest of his years like that. Hope it helps. I kno the series from front to bac lol

  • plus u can watch ryus dialouge with teepo to see why its the bad ending. that explains the plot a little. Myria and Teepo jus feel like the power of the Brood is too dangerous to be left uncontrolled so she locks them away. Ryu is a good dude tho so her judgement is unfair. She gives Ryu the decision, he refuses, and they scrap it out. lol Ryu was wrong for swingin first but lol only if u take it to court. only plot hole tho is why did teepo still have his power to fight ryu with?... but yea...

  • @HugoMUTHAFUKKINBiggs

It wasn't a plot hole. She couldn't literally TAKE his power. The point is that if he was to stay locked up with Myria, then he could do no harm to the planet. It was either that, or she would have to kill him.

  • @RemiusTheAwesome Idk, i think she could have since she was a "goddess"... and she specifically tells him to give up his powers... if u were to tell me give up my powers, id say no. If you were to tell me to not use them for the sake of mankind id be like, ok thats fine. But if she couldnt literally take his powers then shes not really much of a 'God' and that makes her a fraud so she had even less right to tell him to give up. She bleeds & can be beaten like ryu can? then why obey her at all???

  • plus doesnt what she says at 1:31 make u think?... So what is she really then if she isnt a Goddess?...

  • @HugoMUTHAFUKKINBiggs

Well, usually in these types of stories (most stories, actually), being a "god" simply implies that you are a being SO powerful that you're able to do godlike things.

They're probably just a race thats super powerful. Notice that Deis' true form is a Naga body, (though u meet her in human form) and you notice her sister, Myria, turns into a giant naga form (like Deis, just...battle ready) when she decides to actually fight you.

  • @HugoMUTHAFUKKINBiggs Because she created you. Just as a son respect his mother and father, you should respect the being that brought you to life and gave you these powers to begin with.

The fact is, Myria isn't actually that bad, she doesn't want Ryu to keep his powers because it could destroy the world. She was kind of right, she tried to keep the world safe, but to kill the brood was just too much.

  • @pokemaniak30 Hell yea it was too much. if my ma said "Hugo, your potential is too great and you're gonna be a danger to the world... so i have to kill you if u keep your power" ... i kindaaa might scrap it out with my mom lol why cant i just keep the power and be a good guy... like ryu did... and since the battles were all random and turned based, he technically only killed in self defense! u can only defend so long and u cant run from a boss fight lol

  • @HugoMUTHAFUKKINBiggs I agree with you their, It wasnt that challanging at all, plus theirs many open parts, I was really disappointed at the ending as well, only travel through a couple regions an that it, wish they made the game 1 of 3 disc's, that be something. Also, I had to play the game with no help, bet most of us all did, an I had to use my head alot, its fun , its challanging and you have to use your head, hope they make a remake of BoF 3, psp download don't count as a remake.

  • @RemiusTheAwesome ur right about the teepo thing, that does make sense. i figured thats what she literally meant, instead of implying it. good call!!

  • @HugoMUTHAFUKKINBiggs Thanks that helps a lot. So basically Myria wanted to keep the world under her control because she thought it was best for the world. Ryu was basically fighting for the right to choose their own path in life? And another question (sorry about that xD) I thought Teepo was a good guy? But before you wrote Teepo and Myria lock up the brood??? What happened there?

  • @AliB247 This is how the game went.

The whole point of the story is that in Ryu's attempt to find his friends, he finds out he was part of something much bigger than what everyone thought. His race was extremely, EXTREMELY powerful (obviously to challenge a god and win), so the goddess watching over the planet deemed them too dangerous and had them destroyed. I think she did this with the help of her Guardians (like Garr and Geist). So, we fast forward to whats happening in the game.

  • @AliB247

So, across the ocean Myria, has basically locked the world down out of fear of humans destroying themselves. (notice, there are no working machines where you start the game.) In Myria's station, you find Teepo, who was convinced by the goddess that the power of the Brood was too powerful to be allowed to walk the earth. When you disagree to see it his way, he attempts to kill you. (like Myria.)

Teepo wasn't BAD. He wasn't any more bad than Myria was. He just thought he was right.

  • @AliB247 Sorry im writing so much lol

So anyway, you confront Myria. She tells you to stay with her to keep the world safe. If you AGREE, then you end up just like you found Teepo. When you challenge and beat her, Myria no longer is able to control the planet. Myria fears that the world will once again destroy itself, and her sister convinces her otherwise.

It's said the desert would swallow the planet without Myria, but at the very end it shows a plant sprouting from the sand.

  • @AliB247 Thats pretty much what the group was fighting for. Ryu was fighting just for his sake to live since he's the one with the power (and since he's the silent hero i guess its up to us as the players to determine lol) He easily didnt have to go on his adventure but one thing leading to another got them all the way across the desert. And teepo was in ur party but rei and teepo have always been the trouble makers from day 1. Myria locked up Teepo, and ryu and teepo are the last of the brood

  • Im confused how come Ryu from BoF IV is not recognized by cray or nina even momo. is ryu from BoF IV diff. than III ?

  • @MoNgOsAuRuS The Ryus and Ninas are different in every game

  • @MoNgOsAuRuS Yes he is different, they are all different but are the same. Kind of like Link those are all different links but you always play as him as the character in whatever story that is being told.

  • Epic!

  • the ending song sounds EXACTLY LIKE THE ENDING TO WILD ARMS 4!!!

  • my fav part was crossing the desert

  • grown up ryu is a badass

  • where the fuck was peco in the end i cant remember does he die?

  • @snyderjakeXD yeh i finished this ages ago i can't remember, he was in incarnation of yargariss or whatever and began to show us as he confronted myria. He wasnt shown at the end with the others, and they dont really seem to care (lol) but the last sceen of the plant shooting i think is yargariss (peco)

  • dude i love this game .. i was playing it since i was 8, now im 19 and i still play it when im bored .. i just f***in love it

  • I think its especially good because of what myria says, asking if there is a god up there, how very ironic

  • Those ending sprites look badass, especially Rei.

  • Garr....

  • omg, nina is so hot

  • this ending... was to oshort for my liking... it was like... Gar gets stoned, hear the Goddess and Deis say some bs for the rest of it. And then the others just stand on the edge? What did they do after? I mean, did they die in the desert? Did Nina go back to being a princess or the trollop of that gangtown!?

  • What should you have done? Sent the sand to space! Problem solved you dumb blonde!. If it lands on some other planet it's not our problem.

  • @axolotlmafia But it won't bring life back.

  • @roguegirl29 It was a joke dude.

  • lol nice touch with the caption at the end there

  • God I loved this game. Too bad my playstation conked out before I could finish it.

Hell, I didn't even get to Adult Ryu. :c

  • Nice one never get it to kill that bitch!

  • I soo agree with Ryu XD

  • 4:50 bof4 graphics? >.>

  • @pokemoncheatur Lol, it looks better than BoF4.

  • Rei and Garr for Marvel vs Capcom 3

  • I'm working on a script for a seuqel to this game. Sent a few concepts to capcom to no avail. Guess Ill have to mod it myself somehow, dont that just beat all?

BOF3 is an awesome game, on my top 10 along with Sonic and resident evil and an array of classic games. Games that taught you morals and a spiritual way of looking at the world.

Not death and destruction like MW2 and cod games are teaching kids when I was playing this at their age.

Guess its up to us to save the world us 80s babies ;)

  • Thanks for uploading this; I have fond memories of playing this game when I was in high school; I've been hooked on BoF series since I played the first game :) Though I enjoyed the game, I have to say that BoF 2 and 4 have the best storylines of the five games. Even the producers of the third game had to admit that the plot was a little thin and the ending was somewhat lacking. I wasn't bad but could have been better in my opinion.

  • I think of it like this: the main characters can only appear as fully grown sprites at this, the very end of the game, once the false goddess has been defeated.

Symbolically, this is their true form without Myria interfering in their lives and treating the whole world like small children.

  • yep epic game, if my kids follow in my foot steps and love gaming as much as us lot, i'm not going to start them out with a PS3, or 360 but let them experience the magic and depth of legends like this, when graphics were secondary to a great story.

  • I remember playing this so many years ago. One of the best dragon-themed games in the RPG world as well as in its own series :)

  • Grahahaha-- "Why couldnt we have these sprites in the game?" ---"No kidding..."

  • I like the ending, how it shows Peco, A.K.A. the Yggdrasil tree sprouting in the desert. As if when it becomes a full tree, it'll revitalize the area with it's magic.

  • this game took me years to beat. started when i was 8, finished when i was 12 or 13. i got stuck on mikba for a while, then teepo, then myria. i beat her in the most epic awesome way. i was down to just ryu, with a tiny bit of hp and no healing supplies or magic left, and everyone else was unconscious, and i decided, what the hell, and decided to go for one last normal attack. it finished her off.

  • Seriously? It took me longer than that! Got so confused on the stupid desert area! It was about six when I got the game and I didn't beat it until I was sixteen.

  • @whackadoodlydoo ha, i defeated her with only Momo being alive and she had 1hp... I have no idea how i did it eh.

  • Ya know, I typically don't like endings where everything is left up to the viewer or reader to interpret. But this one is quite the exception. I mean, everything is left open to interpretation and that's the beauty of this game: It has a lot of mystery to it.

  • are you planning on doing the entire walkthrough of this game

  • A very good ending indee!=)

"going too far to the beyond...."

  • Wow--that was the most anticlimactic Breath of Fire ending ever. I'm not upset anymore that my save file was erased towards the end of the game. Thanks for the upload!

  • Yea but you get a CLEAR next to your savegame file!!! How cool is that!

  • i want a breath of fire 6 for the current gen consoles!

  • Its a really stupid ending! But hey! Take care of the world idiots!

  • ya for such an epic game this ending was a let down

  • That was a pretty crap ending.

  • I dont like the ending

  • You wished it sucked......This Ending was Epic!

  • Very~good

  • Beautiful ending. You know, this may sound silly, but I believe this game was to teach us a lesson about love and taking care of the world. The ancient and civilized world that destroyed one another and created a giant desert -- kind of what is happening today -- we're an advanced species, but constantly war and tear up the planet that may lead to our destruction.

  • yeah pretty soon we'll be living in megaton

  • Exactly why I hate the reviews this game got...

A game should mainly be loved on the morale it can teach... That's what really makes a game... or any story...

So many games changed me... And for that I am forever grateful.

Here's one from Disgaea: "There is no such thing as absolute good or absolute evil."

  • It's good to read that I'm not the only that experiences this. Even World of Warcraft teaches a lot about history, morals, and values and people miss it.

  • lol that Disgaea quote sounds like its based on Macbeth "there is no good or evil, but thinking it makes it so."

  • you are right AkumaUchitoru =)

most of the so-called 'adults' and who claimed themselves that they are 'mature' because they don't play games are the one who should get a life...we play games ,but we are not addicted to it..we learn from it =D

  • Unless adults learn how to have the heart and soul of a child, it is us children that should review games.

How should they have a heart and soul of a child?

By playing Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver when it comes out. :) And from there, finally getting into the Mother series.

  • @AkumaUchitoru i look up to call of duty there my morals mate games are to hav fun and enjoy urself so get over it ITS A GAME!

  • @AkumaUchitoru yeah but the games from today like call of duty or such bullshit! Just fuck our mind and we dont learn nothing! Its just BS!!

  • @saurianwarlord You bring up a good point. I remember playing this game when I was in high school; I'm 29 now and it still brings up fond memories. I've played all the BoF games and although 3 was good, I have to admit that the plot was a little thin and the ending was a little lacking. I really think Capcom could have done better then that...

  • @saurianwarlord You are so right...

  • actually i think the same thing xDD i love those sprites!!

  • So you finished it. Before I got to lol.

  • Well i've had a complete boss series for this game for about 2 years.

This new version of the final boss vid is just to complement it, and because i felt i had to upload something lol. =P
