this is the same process in making mercury fulminate, in which you mix mercuric oxide with ammonium hydroxide, so could i make iron fulminate by mixing iron oxide or rust with ammonia?

Heat 8 mL of 70% nitric acid to 38C. Add 1g of silver to the acid. Put 15mL of 95% ethyl alcohol in a beaker set in a salt-ice bath. After the silver has dissolved, add the solution to the alcohol. Keep the temperature below 18C. The reaction should require about 30 minutes to complete, then add cold water to precipitate the fulminate. Decant the liquid, then wash the crystals with water. Filter the crystals and wash them with ethyl alcohol. For a little stability, add starch before filtering.

@jango67 thunder snaps have flash powder and silver fulminate. I empty about 6 stones from the snap in the bomb. I use 1'' plasic shells and put in a small stainless steel bearing. Put in my smoke mix and when you throw it, the bearing crushes the fulminate and ignites the smoke mix. if you look you can find a whole case of thunder snaps or they're also called snap clappers for like 40 bucks. You can make about 3 smokes per snapper. Too many rocks will make the smoke explode instead of ignite.

the only way to keep this from eventually exploding is in a complete vacuum at absolute zero and with no light exposure. Even then it might still go...

It's actually silver fulminate. There's a distinct difference.

2 things i can think about

and im not sure if they are correct

2 NH4OH + 3 Ag2O = 2 Ag3N + 5 H2O

or

6 NH4OH + Ag2O = 2 AgN3 + 7 H2O + 8 H2

its more likely to be silver nitride i think

No and yes, What you can do is mix sodium hydroxide (available as average drain cleaner) and mix with silver oxide

No, they are easily confused Silver Azide is AgN3 and Silver Fulminate is AgCNO
