@tiogahigh17 . i guess it all depends if u want the blackberry or android platform. i cant really speak for the prevail, but im more than happy with this blackberry. only thing i can say that i dont like about this phone is the lack of camera flash, although it does take great pictures for what it is as long as its not dark. other than that, i say go for it ! you wont be dissapointed. check their coverage map first too.

the bottons are better close together like that because when theres spaces between them its hard to hit right on the botton when you like rapid text but also its better with the keys lower like that to me cuz otherwise they get too hard to press

@Jujubooe hi, I'm sorry to say that I no longer have the phone but I can tell you it takes spectacular photos. Even though it has a lower megapixel count than some other phones the resolution is very high which results in some awesome photos. Hope this helps!

just got this phone on boost. love it. paid 150 for phone. first months payment. and THATS IT! did not get charged for porting number just 10$ activation. walked outta the store with a new phone and first month paid for 220. cant beat it. love the service, boost really stepped their game up, now if they only could get the tour<33 or at least the bold on boost than its over. Im trying to convert everyone who owns a blackberry to boost because i am so satisfied. check their coverage.

@jtjjmann there is 2 different styles for the SMS chat conversation for BB curve 8530. one is the bubble, blue and white. and the other style is lines separating the messages, you are white and person is blue. it's nice. i like blackberry. i usee it for music playing too... although my phone dies quickly whenever i play music for 2 hours...

From what I know, you CAN get the Blackberry 8530 through from either Virgin Mobile or Boost Mobile (both use the Sprint network). However, as of now this is the only Blackberry model they offer. I know T-Mobile allows you to use their pay-as-you go service bu t the data plan is still very expensive. The Sprint network PayGo plans should be about 50-60 a month for an individual plan. Check out the websites and know that you will have to pay full price (200) for the phone.

You should be able to use prepaid with them and use the 8530 though you'll have to pay 200 for the phone and there aren't any another Blackberry options as of now. @HelloImAlistair in my personal opinion I would say this is a great phone for two years and yes it is good for the internet. The actual phone might feel a little plastic-ee but i assure you it is high quality. It also has a nice rubber edging so if you drop it it wont just shatter.

DAMIAN- it comes down to what you are using the phones for. For example I love to just dink around with new technolgy and still be able to do business (mixing business with pleasure) so I opted to upgrade to the SAMSUNG Acclaim android phone. I absolutely love android over blackberry however the blackberry curve is an EXCELLENT phone so I guess I recommend an android phone. Personally NOT the hero try to see if there are some deals on other phone but otherwise Android all the way.Hope this help!
