A year later, early octobre, I walked through Rotterdam, shooting pictures, to settle myself from a rough period my woman and I were going through, that is, she was pregnant of our son, and had to get into the hospital 11 weeks early. But as I said, I was walking Rotterdam, and passed the old Nighttown, a poster was hanging there, from a gig a year earlier, a day prior to this gig in Eindhoven, where me and my woman saw them, to make a long story short... my son had a name.... Joseph!
Amazing performance, and sadly one of his last... I was lucky enough to be there, thanx for posting! Brings back fond memories! R.I.P. Joseph, you are dearly missed

Thank you so much for posting this video. It makes me feel like i'm there right in that moment. Never felt this way before about a concert video. Culture, Nuff respect. RIP
Mr Hill, I met you at a record shop up here in California back in the early 90's and you and I conversated for a while, i still hold the International herb cassette till this day with your autograph which says "louis keep jammin to reggae music" signed Joseph Hill. I will forever keep that tape..thanks for the good reggae music and i will always be jammin to reggae forever like you said! RIP MR HILL
Love and respect to the greatest reggae artist of them all. I love you brother Joseph and will miss you very much for the rest of my days. R.I.P. I love you. Steve Steinberg
Anything I could say about You JOE,is that You are a great MAN ,I pray that THE ALLMIGHTY JAHRASTARFARAI !! will give You a nice and pleasent place to REST IN PEACE .
I saw them live in St Kitts. Another one of my favorite Reggae bands. Don't forget to read Anthony Ismael's DEEP GLANCE. It's a story of friendship, love and politics.
Anyone know where he was laid to rest? I am going to Jamaica and Culture is my favorite roots reggae band, and I want to pay some respect to him when I get there.
sorry my message was too long and I am new at leaving messages. Second message is the beginning and the first is the middle with the last being the last. Thanks
I recall meeting with Joseph Hill and the members of Culture in Toronto when they played the El Mocambo. It must have been in the mid to late 90's. Hanging on the parked tour bus and sharing was great. The following morning Joseph invited me to have breakfast with him and some of the crew and friends. His wife was there and I presented him with a gift, Bhagavad-Gita-As It Is.
"For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain (BG ch.2 text20). ONE LOVE Joseph Hill.
We discussed the ideals and principles of the Gita and he was much appreciating the philosophy, so much so that he wanted us to continue our talk sometime in the near future. We never did meet again but I totally loved the opportunity to meet with him and to share, as he had been an influence in my youth. I would like to leave this Gita quote in his memory.
I remember listening to Holy Mount Zion at age 15, stoned in a london record store... now 23 years later still loving the sounds... and living in Israel. Love & Respec' every time J Hill
another prophet gone but not forgotten! He always spoke the truth as needed. Sad he was more repected in other countries and less his own of Jamaica. A ruff artist RIP.
