  • i did it also but it was radio controlled lol

  • I recently transitioned to taildraggers after several years of flying tricycle gear aircraft - IMHO, the former are more enjoyable if you are looking for recreational flying experience

  • I want one. how much are they?

  • the end showed me why I never liked taildraggers. The offset center of gravity raises the nose which makes it harder to steer on the ground. Now I definately prefer a tricycle.

  • buddy, you did much better then I did. I had my first few approaches on grass today in a 140. Hard for me to keep it straight on take off and landing. Lucky for me I have a great instructor.

  • Who are you getting your instruction from up there?

  • I wish I had this at home

  • Great job! Was very neat and interesting (and encouraging) to watch. Taildragger is next after I finish my instrument ticket in a couple of weeks.

  • Excellent!! ~J~

  • congrats man,well done,nice landing

  • Nice!! Stick in the stomach! Keep it straight! Going through my taildragger rating now too!

  • VERY COOL! i want to fly!!!!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm pumpkin pie

  • i'm 15 and starting training on a j3 this spring!

    I'm Pumped! lol

  • Not a Cessna 172?

  • Hey man when i get older and I want to buy one of these, anyone now how much they cost my price range is 65,000 to 125,000

  • They go anywhere from 24,000 to 35,000.

  • nice video and landing :)

  • Thanks. I use the videos to review all my flights.

  • nice landing! cool

  • Thanks, it was fun.

  • Well they say about 38mph but I try to stay at 50 or better because I'm never that high above the ground. Now at your 113 kts stall I would be real close to my never exceed. So as your wings stall my wings would come off. See another thing we have in common, we both need to stay away from that 113kt mark. I see you're from the UK. We have good frends in Kent. Love the place.

  • Horsepower is a measurement of work done over time and this Cub only has 85 of them. That makes it a great climber if you have all day. Now on a warm summers evening with the window up and the door down and flying at 55-70mph, its great for chasing deer or spotting old cars in farm fields. If you want a little more excitement get the clip wing Cub or the super Cub. Hey, arent we both lucky we get to fly airplanes regardless of their size or speed?

  • And I'm use to flying at 48kts@330'AGL without the aid of a computer or any other electric device, but boy is it fun. Give it a try you'll like it.LOL

  • That is a good look into the world of flight instruction.

  • Aha! Awesome. Thanks!

  • nice job. i want to fly one of these one day

  • Great video - nothing like landing a bright yellow taildragger on a beautiful evening!

You're pretty close by too... I fly out of Stewart (40I) in Waynesville, about 70 miles away.

  • Thanks. Can't wait tell summer comes again. Flying with the door and windows open is great. I'll just have to make due with the Cherokee I guess. We do go to I74 alot(Urbana) to see the B-17 project. Thats real close to you, isn't it?

  • It's a short hop, just slightly over 40nm away to the North. Been there to eat myself and intend to take some other friends up there for $100 hamburgers as well. Haven't been to the B-17 restoration yet, but plan on it!

  • Awesome video man. Welcome to Cub world! (Nothing is more fun than a J3!)

  • Thank you and thank you but I hpoe your Cub has a heater(Nothing is colder than a J3 in the winter)If your's has heat, let's go flying.

  • Mine is wired shut...coats are a must!

  • It sure has been fun flying that tailwheel.

  • Engine is fine I think the camera makes it look funny at times but it is only 85hp.

  • A whole 20 more hp than the old J3 I used to fly. Your first landing was better than mine but my second, on a short grass strip was on a par, it had to be, I'd have ended up in a hedge otherwise! Great little video, thanks.

  • With random music - three stars

With just engine noise - 4 or maybe 5 stars

With the clear conversation - over 7 stars :D

  • great video, thanks for sharing your success. I want a Champ one day to tool around in :)

  • Gigantic contratulations, you lucky bastard. :) I'm doing nosewheels first till I get my ticket, then my reward is to learn taildraggers. Nicely done.

  • Just got my private pilot Feb 8,2008 after 53 hours flight time and one year. I will get my tailwheel next and then motor glider if everything goes well. What a fun year it's been.

  • holly cow!! i got mine february 10th!! CONGRATS MAN... i bet flying that cub is real fun! i'm looking to start training in a luscumb prety soon too.

  • Congrats to you also. I just got my tailwheel endorsment Aug 3rd 2008. Good luck on getting yours too. Sure is a lot of fun isn't it?

  • oohh heck yeah! and i really like ur videos 2

  • congrats on your tailwheel ticket. nice video, good quality and good audio, no stupid music. thanks for sharing.

  • Is this Flight Simulator X with Track IR ????

  • ah!yeah!that was a really good teacher,i've learned on my own how to land my taildragger kitfox 4

  • Made it look easy :-) I know better!

  • Reminds me of FSX :) except u did way better for the first time. (well u did have more motivation to land safely)good job.

  • motivation = pumpkin pie :)
