I have a Line 6 Variax as demonstarted in the video. I have this software I bought called the 'Variax Workbench' I'd googlie it for more info. But basicaly you know the other jack next to the standard 1/4" jack. The variax workbench set comes with a USB connector so you can plug it into your PC and with the variax workbench software you can change aspects of various guitar sounds. It's easier to google it than explain but you should get the general picture hopefully.
It is a Line 6 Variax. On the Bridge of the guitar there are 6 pickups one on each bridge for each string. For further information about them google Line 6 Variax or google 'Piezo pickups' The guitar does have pickups just their too small to be seen at the distance shown in the video. =) I hope that has answered your question =) ~Craig
Basically I have a standard full size nylon string guitar, a half size nylon string guitar, a semi acoustic steel strung guitar, a yamaha ERG121DU,a Line 6 variax 500 and also I have a new guitar not featured here, An Ibanez GRG170DX in Jewel blue =)
AlsoI have five pedals, one is for the lie 6 variax as I ention within this video, I alsohave a behringer Hell Babe Wah pedal, a Bespeco Volume Pedal, a digitech RP100 Multi Effects processor and I hae a four way channel selctor for my Hughes and Kettner amplifier. And the mixer is an old Fostex Multitracker 160 four channel mixer.
That's a great setup, Craig! No wonder your videos sound as good as you play. After watching several of them now, I think you're awesome! -- Corky

Well almost built-in. You've got the right concept but they're integrated with the bridge.
