Lalu makes more sense than most politicians. I'll like to see him walking the walk more often than talking the talk. I dont care if he is corrupt to the core so long as he really addresses what india needs:- massive investments in infrastructure and an effort to alleviate poverty and hunger in India. I sound foolish to wish these things...but I'd take him over our toothless PM whose party openly indulged in horse trading (remember the Ajit Jogi episode, this is not the Congress's first time)

There are politicians who perform poorly in their obscure states and also wreak havoc when they come to the Centre. Not Lalu. You don't know that. Nothing was proved in a court of law or in the people's court (elections). Jury is still out. But the fact is he single handedly put life back in to,the once dead, Indian Railways. Harvard University called it a miracle. The story of Lalu's turnaround of railways is at the best half truth, which has been glamorised by the Harvard types. Lalu ran the state for 15 years and I have lived the entire duration in that state and I can vouch for what I said. As far as being proven in the people's court is concerned, it did happen. Lalu lost the elections.
