I agree, dont udnerstand why there are blacks in this video, since very few listen to country music, and even then........these 2 arent dressed to a country theme to begin with.
I think the point is to have fun, and this video shows old and young, black and white, middle class and working class, all dancing and having fun and being drawn into the music.
It's a testament to the power and role of music in bringing people together, and Marty Stuart seems egalitarian and cool enough to have picked up on that theme and put it in his video.
If you look back at the history of country music nearly every genre and style even blugrass was innovated by African Americans. From Bill Monroe being influenced by street performer Arnold Schultz to the Father of Country Music Jimmy Rodgers being inspired by the music of Railroad performers most o which were black.
Unfortunately in the beginning of country music many racist people were in charge of the record labels and marketed the of the music in a rather stereotypical Hillbilly way that made people from the hills look ridiculous. I personally believe that it is great that Marty Stuart has included black people in this video.

It's nice to know that some people are familiar with Marty. I have a few times mentioned his name to a few people. But no one seems to remember him. He just didn't push his music hard enough. I love his music. I was lucky enough to see him in concert once. I have heard that he is more into recording other people's music now.
Marty Kicked open the door on Power Country with Hillybilly Rock. The first time I heard it, I pulled over and cranked it up. I knew it was Marty, as I had seen him on Austin City Limits a year or two before. Marty is incredible in concert. Marty and his band are very heavy live, especially for supposedly country pickers. Marty's guitar pickin' live is something to see and hear. His tone is second to none. Check him out live. No one can blow a room away like Marty ! Have Mercy !

When I saw Marty Stuart a few years ago i happened to be to the side of the stage right when he finished his set. He looked at me all out of breath and smiled and said "wow I'm one talented mother fucker...I can sing in 12 octaves at once" hahahaha IDK what that means but it was funny

It later became a slang towards southern farmers. Now morons use it to refer to someone they deem unethical. The second thing you're wrong about is your racist definition. The oft-derogatory term "redneck" stems from individuals who literally sported a red neck from sunburns, presumably from a hard day's work in the lumber, cattle or farming trade. It was later used to describe striking coal miners who wore red bandannas around their necks as a sign of pride and solidarity. As someone who grew up on a farm in the coal-mining state of West Virginia and knows full well the value of a hard day's work, I whole-heartedly consider myself a redneck.

I think the point is to have fun, and this video shows old and young, black and white, middle class and working class, all dancing and having fun and being drawn into the music.
It's a testament to the power and role of music in bringing people together, and Marty Stuart seems egalitarian and cool enough to have picked up on that theme and put it in his video.

If you look back at the history of country music nearly every genre and style even blugrass was innovated by African Americans. From Bill Monroe being influenced by street performer Arnold Schultz to the Father of Country Music Jimmy Rodgers being inspired by the music of Railroad performers most o which were black.

Unfortunately in the beginning of country music many racist people were in charge of the record labels and marketed the of the music in a rather stereotypical Hillbilly way that made people from the hills look ridiculous. I personally believe that it is great that Marty Stuart has included black people in this video.

It's nice to know that some people are familiar with Marty. I have a few times mentioned his name to a few people. But no one seems to remember him. He just didn't push his music hard enough. I love his music. I was lucky enough to see him in concert once. I have heard that he is more into recording other people's music now.

Marty Kicked open the door on Power Country with Hillybilly Rock. The first time I heard it, I pulled over and cranked it up. I knew it was Marty, as I had seen him on Austin City Limits a year or two before. Marty is incredible in concert. Marty and his band are very heavy live, especially for supposedly country pickers. Marty's guitar pickin' live is something to see and hear. His tone is second to none. Check him out live. No one can blow a room away like Marty ! Have Mercy !

Gary Houge, RIP. One of the great pedal steel players. Luckily we got Marty's album 'The Pilgrim' to hear some of Gary's better work. 'The Pilgrim' is arguably Marty's best album. He admitted himself that it was his "love song" to country music. Yet, Country radio dismissed it.
