to all of you arguing about how you are from "the streets" NO ONE FUCKING CARES! I do not see the glory in living from welfare check to welfare check. Please explain this. I own my own business and work 2 jobs and work my ass off to put myself through school. If you really want any type of real respect quite acting like you can't and actually do something. Not everyone can be a rap star. Get use to it. @davidthegreat99 I admire your drive and working with what you got. very nice keep it up .
@Scriptural Lol bruh jus get some egg cartons from walmart folk ! Shit even better and cheap ! You actin lik i aint from the hood nigga I was off Cleaveland Av before the hoods got shut down
Booth within a booth, haha. You must've gotten so claustrophobic in that closet. Anyway thanks for the videos, I'll have to check out those reflection filters because I have nowhere to turn into a vocal booth & I'm not doing it in my bathroom, lol.
@SuperUshay It's difficult but look at rappers like Immortal Technique & Tupac who wrote entire albums while incarcerated & then added instrumentals later.
@netty4885 You need foam outside of your closet 'cause all the electronics emit a nasty ass hiss and you'll hear humming and static when you play the audio back. Try to have your booth as far from your workstation as possible and if you can keep the lights off and turn off fans and lamps to reduce the interference that'd help too.
You can tell the difference just with the audio on the camera when you were talking into that closet and when you were in the room talking. I'll definitely be doing this! Great information bro! Thanks a lot!
I used thumb tacks to put up the foam, and I put it up in a pattern to allow sound to bounce off the bear parts of the walls, along with the reflection filter it gave the sound alot of substance!
@TheCreativedanny hey bro. I'm gonna try stick on velcrow. like you can buy at walmart or a craft store. has a roll of velcrow with a sticky side like tape and a velcrow side. try that.
egg carton foam does work for high end echos. but, the ol' egg cartons made from cardboard do not work to deaden a room. When people say egg cartons do not work, they're reffering to the cardboard and thin styrofoam ones. Your foam should do just fine for highs.
@mileman101 yeah me too by far, like he said tho man he worked with what hes got, i dont think hes a big hit yet so he doesnt have the money but he still wants to try and do it right, i got a few guitars and a weak ass computer, trying to get a keyboard going

lmfao... i was laughing at first, but i believe him.. some geniuses start out in their basements/closets. good job!
i completely agree about the studio foam.. shit is expensive. i bought some, but it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, like $30/sq feet i think marble costs less. i might as well get a new marble counter.
Jim Morrison was having a block midway in his career about how to lay down his next short burst of creativity. When asked by his producer where he was most comfortable, he responded "in the bathroom." LA Woman was then (vocally) recorded in the bathroom. I hear Jim Morrison when I hear Dave say "you work with what you got".
David, you could put a bass trap in there, it sounds really boomy... and it is not that expensive, its just a 2x4 fiberglass panel, with a cloth cover, and a frame, if you want to... or you just nail it to the wall with big washers... it's gonna improve the sound dramatically... and in the "control room" you have nasty reflexions, some panels in the back should be enough...
good job man i do think like u, studio foam is VERY expensive, u can get the same effect with just regular foam, i have no shit acoustics in my room in fact the bedroom i record in is big and have lots of reverb and fucked up bouncing sound all over but yet i manage to get me some good sound in my songs, check out my channel and hear my reggae tunes i recorded, peace.
