Just for clarification, any of you out there who think that Treadwell did not feed the bear: CHANGING THE COURSE OF A RIVER TO MOVE THE SALMON ALONG QUALIFIES AS "FEEDING" THE BEAR.
Any medical professional would tell you that just by watching his demeanor through out the film that Treadwell was suffering from what appears to either bi-polar disorder or he was a manic depressive. As a medical professional I would say it is most likely he suffered from Bi-polar disorder and certainly needed to be on medication. Now, I know Jewel said in one portion of the movie that he did see a doctor and was placed on medication but quit taking it because he needed the "highs and lows."
That is a clear case of both manic depressives and individuals suffering from bi-polar disorder. 80% of these patients take their medication but when they feel better, they stop the medication. That is why close follow up is needed with these types of patients.

Timothy Treadwell loved bears and nature more than humans. Is he crazy? Upon closer inspection, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't hate humans at some point in their lives and was a loving person 24/7. That's not realistic. We often hate each other for being different from us all the time in multiple expressions and forms of thought. We engage in hatred all the time. It's so obvious. Timothy is cast as "wierd" for trying to escape the thing he hated.

Any medical professional would tell you that just by watching his demeanor through out the film that Treadwell was suffering from what appears to either bi-polar disorder or he was a manic depressive. As a medical professional I would say it is most likely he suffered from Bi-polar disorder and certainly needed to be on medication. Now, I know Jewel said in one portion of the movie that he did see a doctor and was placed on medication but quit taking it because he needed the "highs and lows."

That is a clear case of both manic depressives and individuals suffering from bi-polar disorder. 80% of these patients take their medication but when they feel better, they stop the medication. That is why close follow up is needed with these types of patients.

@thegirl44, That is inherently untrue. Many people who suffer from these disorders are not able to effectively communicate or reason like a normal individual. That being said it is very common for Physicians observe their mannerisms and get feedback from others around them. So, when you go to 4 yrs. of Medical School and do a 3 year residency, maybe then and only then will you be qualified to say what is and isn't medically correct. Right now you are just dumb and illiterate.

He himself said that if he didn't come back, he was ok with it. he was fine with dying if it meant his message could be spread, which it was.

They would be killed.

The most reccuring theme though is that Tim had almost no grasp of wrong, bad and inherent evil in people, when he learned the hard way (overdose, drug gangs) and discovered retribution (watching sentences passed) he realized he had to rely on his own sense of justice
